I think regular Lydian is more beautiful, although Lydian Augmented is more complex in its emotion. Of course it depends how you play it too. Standard Pentatonic scales can sound like blues, or chinese music, or Eric Johnson, so who knows really.

Melodic Minor modes are the most beautiful in all of music. Very much under appreciated.

Thanks. I disagree with you about the feel thing, the improvisation captures the stark beauty of Lydian Augmented pretty well I think. It's melodic and flows smoothly, at least to my ear. However, these things are completely subjective so I can't say you are wrong. Cheers Rowan
