Super cool to see someone accomplish so much in 10 hours. I attempt to work on mods for myself but it is a lot of trial and error as I am not yet an expert or significantly proficient with lua. My mod focus is for NodeCore game on minetest, besides that I have thought of fixing some other mods that are still used on minetest which have missing bits or errors.
the cool thing about most of the minetest mods is that by being open source u can just view and study and modify and redistribute the code, just change a few assets, which is what i believe AG did here. and the thing about Lua is you don't need to compile/build it!
I feels this mod is what minetest needed in terms of it's expansion of it's main gameplay so thank for making this video of the creation and making of this mod. If anyone is interested of playing with this Industrious mod, I got a server running called "FriendlyPerson's Minetest".
Great video you are one of the few Minetest content creators that give Minetest it's proper respect, I found your content highly likable and creative but I would like to give some of my thoughts to you: - Changing your channel name, the part Gaming of you channel comes of as very mundane and I believe Alfaro to already be a very unique name, so perhaps changing it to only Alfaro or something else would be better (but apparently RUclips seems to have some sort of system of when RUclipsrs change their channel name it gets negative consequences so I recommend researching about it. - Using Krita, from your video I saw that you used Paint3D (Impressive how you made it work for what you were using it) and Gimp, but I believe that Krita would have been better than either since is focused on art mainly. - Audio, your audio pops from time to time so maybe using a phone instead of your mic or using software afterwards would make the sound better, from the top of my head Audacity is the first that I would use. Also I don't know what software you are using to edit, if you don't feel like pirating you can aways use the free version of DaVinci Resolve and use ShutterEncoder so you can edit your recordings. Keep it up the great work!
Alfaro Gaming is just fine, it might be mundane, but it's at least indicative of the content, so that's ok. he's already using audacity. i didn't notice the pops myself, but hopefully he'll be more aware now thanks to your msg.
Thank you! Yeah, we will probably not change our channel name now that we got it, but thanks for the insight. As for the most recent videos, I record using a phone and then audio enhance it with Adobe. We may buy an actual mic soon. I have used both gimp and Krita, but thanks! I may get back into using them more, but all three programs have things I like and don't like about them, so for now I mainly use Paint3D because it is simple. Thanks for the support
Thanks for making this video! Watching it is inspiring me to get back into Minetest modding. I had a bunch of Minetest mod ideas that I had in the backburner such as a boots of swiftness mod, a mod that added new structures, and even a cave update mod. Seeing the process of designing a mod is giving me the motivation to work on a new project and maybe go back into my older projects and I thank you for that! Btw quick question, do you intend to update the Industrious mod in the future to include the tasks you didn't complete in this video? As much as it is cool to see what you could do in 10 hours, I'd love to see what the mod would look like fully realized. Especially since a lot of the blocks and items you added fit in very well with vanilla Minetest. I might even include it in my vanilla+ survival modpack in the future. The content you added into Industrious is just that brilliant.
I'm glad to hear that! Btw I love your idea of new structures, please make that a mod! 🙂 Yeah, I'd like to have Industrious as a hobby mod for me, so it'll probably just get updates spontaneously. I've considered doing an update that could even include a new metal like Uranium or Brass. I've got lots of ideas for the mod.
Okay, that's super cool to know. I'm looking forward to seeing uranium and brass make it into Industrious and seeing what your twist on those minerals will end up being. As for the structures mod, I worked on it a couple of months ago but stopped working on it since I moved computers. Maybe once I can get my structures mod onto my new computer, I can work on and release the first version of More Structures.
I've just discovered Minetest, and I want to be able to enjoy it without a lot of frustration, and I've found that your videos are very helpful for that
that's the beauty of free/libre software, you can study modify and redistribute. rather than make your own, consider simply forking Minetest engine, and maybe some of your better additions or modifications can someday be merged with the MT engine 🙂 ;-)
How can you create mods without even syntax coloration for the Lua language? 👀 I personally use VSCode with not only syntax coloration but auto completion and linting and can't go back to something less powerful. (used Notepad++ in the past, which only provided syntax coloration)
Haha yes, in the past I've used notepad++ but have been lazy recently :P I may get back into using a program like that. Personally, not HUGE problem for me.
For me, it has been about a month; and I am STILL working on the Magic Biomes mod! (It is a big mod with lots of biomes, plants, and schematics, which pretty much explains why)....
Do you mean when you palce the block down it is one of the three versions? If so, then the answer is yes, this method is used in the grass plant in Minetest, it cycles between the different heights. Hope this answer helps.
Very interesting, gotta try this mod. But goddamn, please, use a better code editor, like notepad++ or something! It will make your life really easier.

This mod is sick
We are witnessing a good content creator and a decent mod creator.

@@galicate FriendlyPerson's Game is my Minetest Server yes. :)
thanks for a new minetest mod! awesome. hope to find it in the contentdb soon
No problem!

this is good stuff. I was thinking I needed to do a more modern build in MC. Maybe I'll give Minetest a go instead.
now we need a "No Chat GPT Mod Devving Competition"
that would be challenging
lol I just downloaded minetest, I am a C++ developer and I wanted to make a voxel engine so I wanted to checkout the source code.

As far as I'm aware, there's also a Minetest Modding plugin for VSCode, so that might be useful as well

a part of me dies whenever i see someone relying on chatgpt to code for them
You pixelart skills are great!
Thats epic bro... You inspire me
You have earned the underrated badge!
is there a way to have say three versions of a block, and they appear randomly?
Do you mean when you palce the block down it is one of the three versions? If so, then the answer is yes, this method is used in the grass plant in Minetest, it cycles between the different heights.

bro codes in notepad. i see you're a real gigachad
Lol
Gold Trap Door got the Belle Époque look.
Nice job mate!
I wish you'd show more on the development side of things
Very interesting, gotta try this mod.

THANK YOU
I had to use the find feature to get this comment lmao
Keep up the good work!
what program for image editing are you using
I used Gimp and Paint3D
What are your 5 favorite texture packs?
Also what is the app that you used for the textures?
I use Paint 3D. Occasionally I will use gimp.
@@alfarogaming ok thx
wow the skill you displayed in this video is godlike
could you make a tutorial for modding in minetest?
I will consider it!
noice :D
How about a mod similar to industriacraft for mineclone2
You are beautiful! What an awesome mod! Thank you!
nice mod
Very cool!
why doesnt mods use java... it would have been cooler mods than lua mods
Horrible opinion dude. Java sucks ass keep it as far away from Minetest as humanly possible
Lua is easier to use and minetest has it built in. I'm not sure what you mean by cooler mods, as it seems perfectly usable to me
Awesome
i see mintetest i sub
respect you a bit, download at least sublimetext...
I used the modd
Caught you reusing xobsidianmese hoe code redhanded
Yep! SaKeL is attributed in that part of the code.
This is FLOSS so it is normal to reuse others' codes and such as long as licensing, credits, etc are respected and provided.
that is precisely the point of having the code be free and open/public in the first place
I was joking, please quiet down
NO!! I WILL NOT QUIET DOWN!!! I AM F%#$ING LIVID!!!!!!!! 😁🤬😝@@Tim7even9ine
