Hi I just got this loom and didn’t have a clue u did help me .. I will have to watch a couple of times you taught this grammie something thank you .i just hit your 🛎️ a newbie here thank you 👍 10:40 ♥️✌️
Thank you so much!!! I have been procrastinating on looming.....i bought a few years ago.....most videos i watched seem to make it more confusing then it really is!! Your video is great, to the point, and straight forward!! Thank you so much. I cant wait to start my loom blanket ❤🎉
I am blind and recently started loom knitting. The only part of this video that wasn't very clear was the description of casting off. It would be helpful in hearing steps in terms of peg numbers. For example, starting from one end of the blanket, move the yarn from peg one to peg two and so on. The rest was great!
My husband is blind as well, but has enjoyed fiber arts in the past. Your comment has given me the idea to see if he would like this also, thank you! Any advice for helping him learn?
@ just a lot of practice. It is mainly a matter of building muscle memory. It can take time so take breaks anytime you start to feel frustrated. Start by making small swatches before you start on a big project. Most of all, have fun!
Thank you so much for this wonderful video! I was considering buying the model you have but wasn’t sure, and I had no idea about the loom pen-what a game changer! Definitely for me, as I’m not the most experienced at this yet, haha! 😂I truly appreciate your guidance, and your positive energy is absolutely contagious. Thank you again. 🙂
I bought one of these a bit over a month ago. I work on mine in my free time. (Im a truck driver, so mostly when im being loaded/unloaded) I've nearly got my first afghan finnished.
The casting off was a bit confusing because the camera seemed to move a bit and the steps werent really obvious. Could you possibly do a video which just shows how to cast off? I just subbed to your channel because if this video because it answered some questions about blanket looms and now I'm going to buy one. Thank you .
Hi. Thank you. Ive got my loom and im ready to go now. Just want to clarify that we go back and forth ie; 1st peg to last and then lift off from last to first....corrdct?
Do you have a video showing how you add one strand of yarn to the end of one on the loom when the ball of yarn runs out? Or are you able to buy yarn rolls so large you do not need multiple yarn balls?
@ wait so the peg with the arrow I don’t yarn it and the last one I don’t either? Or it’s just the first initial peg I did my knot I don’t continue to yarn
How can i learn from you incase I get struck? I am a beginner and would love to do charity in India - for the maternity home here for the less previledged.
It definitely can with certain type of yarn. Thinner yarn can and sometimes won’t straighten out. You can pearl stitch the first 2 rows and it will help with the curling!
Do you know how to make the yarn at the bottom (from the beginning row) not curl? i just started and i really don’t want my projects to roll but i cannot find how to do that with crocheting and using this specific type of loom!!
I thought I had replied to you a few days ago I’m sorry!! So you can either just place something heavy on the ends when finished or you can do a special stitch called the pearl stitch for the first 1 or 2 rows! Usually it will curl a little bit when using this type of yarn but it goes flat the bigger the blanket gets :)
I’m confused on why your video cuts out in the exact same step each time you are demonstrating the casting off? It seems like a pretty important step to miss after getting all the way to the end of the blanket. Do you have a video that shows this step in its entirety?
Is there a recommended size of yarn to use? (Like in diameter/thickness. I hope im describing this right) i just ordered my loom and loom pen but am struggling to figure out what diameter/thickness of yarn to use and not use on it.
I have been wanting to try loom knitting for years and just haven't pushed myself into but now that I'm working 2 jobs i need a de-stresser. So so glad i found you on tik tok. I want to make sure i get the concept, your essentially going left to right till you get back to your anchor and then back right to left again? Also how much yarn is usually needed for a pretty large Afghan?? And will i ever need to add more yarn or does it not work that way?
Hi! I repeated the steps but for some reason I don’t have much space left on my pegs and the yarn isn’t falling through. Is there something I did wrong or will the yarn eventually fall through? Thank you!
You can. The only reason I recommend this loom is because it’s designed to make a 60inch wide blanket! If you use the round looms you will have to sew a lot of panels together
You don’t have to do a garter stitch at the beginning and on the sides and at the end so it doesn’t curl or is that yarn that you’re using you’re able to do it all wrap without it curling?
Yes, I forgot to mention that in the video thank you! With this yarn specifically you don’t have to, by the time your blanket is finished the edges won’t be curled anymore. It curls a tiny bit in the beginning but not enough to garter stitch!
I’m so confused. I’ve started this twice lol after your first row and you wrap the peg to the right of the arrow twice, you say at 6:20 that’s the only time you’ll ever wrap that peg. Is that for the ENTIRE rest of the blanket that you’ll never wrap that right peg ever again? Because I did that for like a thousand freaking rows and then it was wonky. Im curious if you could do a video where we watch you do at least 7 rows or so we can see how you go about it once you also let the slip knot go. I’ve watched this video a thousand times and I can’t figure out if what you say at 6:21 is for the entire rest of the blanket. So we never wrap the peg with the arrow OR the peg to the right? The peg to the right should only ever have one loop on it until you’re done?
The peg with the arrow should only have your slip knot on it! Once your blanket is getting longer you take the slip knot off the arrow peg. From there the arrow peg should never have yarn on it:)

Happy to help!

I didn’t even think about that!!!! That would’ve been very helpful !

❤ this! Your instructions were very clear and easy to follow! Going to start looming with my daughter!❤❤❤
I’m so happy for you!!

Thank you so much! I really appreciate that!
Thank you I appreciate your video you answered all my questions
Of course!! Thanks for watching

I've nearly got my first afghan finnished.
That’s so exciting!!!! I hope you have enjoyed it!
Thank you VERY MUCH! Very easy to understand. ❤❤❤

Yes I do have a video on that!!:)
@ thanks so much I’ll look for it!!
When you get to the last peg, how to you completely end it😊
The only thing im unsure about is do you continue to put yarn on the last peg or leave it alone like the first one?
You never have yarn on that last peg! Always keep it empty or it will be a tube :)
@ wait so the peg with the arrow I don’t yarn it and the last one I don’t either? Or it’s just the first initial peg I did my knot I don’t continue to yarn
What if I started on the pegs marked for my first and the one to the right is empty? I'm already almost do everything with my 2nd cake.
That works also! You just need one peg with no yarn:)
@MariahJane00 ok great thanks
I have this exact loom, how can I add more yarn to continue to make a big blanket? I have around 6-7 skeins to go through❤
I actually have a recent video on how to tie skeins together!
How many skeins do you typically use? Or how many yards?
1800 yards of size 6 yarn!!:)
❤❤❤❤ thank you
Of course!! Thank you so much for watching
Can you use 4 yarn on this type of loom ?
Yes you can!!:)
THANK YOU!!!!! YOU'RE AWESOME ❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
How can i learn from you incase I get struck? I am a beginner and would love to do charity in India - for the maternity home here for the less previledged.
Loom is out of stock on Amazon, JoAnns and KB. I emailed KB knitting and they said more in stock about mid January.
Oh no!!!!! That’s terrible, I’m sorry to hear that!!
Does the blanket curl if you use e-wrap stich???
It definitely can with certain type of yarn. Thinner yarn can and sometimes won’t straighten out. You can pearl stitch the first 2 rows and it will help with the curling!
Can you make a tutorial for changing colors please? I want to make a blanket with stripes and I’m not sure how to do it correctly
I have a video on how to tie your skeins together if that’s what you’re talking about :)
Very good video
Thanks
When you were going fast around it was satisfying
lol a lot of people think so!!!:)
Do you know how to make the yarn at the bottom (from the beginning row) not curl? i just started and i really don’t want my projects to roll but i cannot find how to do that with crocheting and using this specific type of loom!!

What do you mean? It’s the same few steps over and over, that’s the only reason I didn’t show the entire process.
Is there a recommended size of yarn to use? (Like in diameter/thickness. I hope im describing this right) i just ordered my loom and loom pen but am struggling to figure out what diameter/thickness of yarn to use and not use on it.
You can use any size! I recommend a size 6 and no larger than that! I have used thinner yarn on it before!
@@MariahJane00 thank you 😁
What do you do if you want a wider blanket?
You would have to sew the panels together!!:)
Yes exactly! I use around 1200-1800 for a throw blanket. I have a tutorial on how to add/tie yarn skeins together
Hi! I repeated the steps but for some reason I don’t have much space left on my pegs and the yarn isn’t falling through. Is there something I did wrong or will the yarn eventually fall through? Thank you!
Did you take the bottom loop over the top??
hello, what size yarn and how much of it to make a blanket?
I used 1600-1600 yards of a size 6 yarn:)
How to add the second cake same color cake of yarn ?
I have uploaded a tutorial on how:)
What kind of stitches do you use? Per paper instructions basket weave…
This is just the basic E wrap :)
Do you have to use an Afghan loom for a blanket? Can you use a round one?
You can. The only reason I recommend this loom is because it’s designed to make a 60inch wide blanket! If you use the round looms you will have to sew a lot of panels together
@@MariahJane00 thanks so much!
After you're done casting off all the pegs, is there anything else that comes next or is the blanket completely done?
Then it’s completely done!!:) I usually crochet a boarder on mine but it’s not needed :)
how to add more yarn/change colors?
I have a video on how to tie balls of yarn together!!:)
How many rolls of yarn would it take to make a baby blanket with this? Thanks!
If you use this for a baby blanket it would be really wide! These make 60 inch wide blankets:) so I don’t typically make a baby blanket on this loom
Well in retrospect, I mean how many rolls would you need for a blanket? Lol
Between 1200-1800 yards!!:)
Thanks.
You're welcome

@ can you show one of your blankets
I have a more recent short that has one of my blankets done!!
Thank you so much for the tutorial! How many rolls of yarn do you use for an afghan? Thank you ❤

What happened with the Live streams??🙂
I will start doing them very soon again!!! Life has been very crazy lately! I should be doing it tomorrow:)
@MariahJane00 well Life is crazy all the time It's just how we see it anyway hope you're doing good 💛
@MAXIMUS-004 you’re very right!!!:) I will start back up again tomorrow!! 😺
Where did you buy this loom
Joann’s!!!:)
From where can i buy loom pen??
Joann’s!!
How do you change colors? I want to use different colors for each row.
I have a video on how to tie skeins of yarn together!!:)
Once you finish one roll of yarn, is there a way to attach another one on and continue going?
I actually have uploaded a video on how to do that!
