Would have a question on your analysis of the first goal. Would it be sensible to be leaving the near post more open by stepping into the field, but not be surpassing the post if that makes sense? Difficult to explain in English, but I have a 16 yo playing national level here in Belgium and his GK trainer always tells him to stay rather low, never give up his post by surpassing it because as he's quite tall he has more time to react staying low, both in the short as well as in the far corner. Please comment if you will :)
Yeah, on the first one he definitely should have stepped into the field more while staying in line with the ball. It might give up more of the near post in doing so but ideally not so much to where you can't cover it with a kick save. I think this is what you are asking.
Hey, Im a Gk and I have a really hard time claiming crosses , i always fail to get a hold of the ball it slips out. How can I improve this? I love ur videos
Again, eyes on the ball instead of people around you, decent gloves. A pair of gloves from £40 upwards can improve your grip hugely and give you that psychological edge every time you go up for a cross. And remember: take the cross at the highest point you feel comfortable at. Waiting for a cross to drop into your chest isn't the way . Safe hands! 👐
2:06 he picked it up, because somebody made a joke saying you can pick the ball up mid game (it was obviously a joke during the training video with Niko) and he actually tried to do so
That last one hits home a bit for me, I was a goalkeeper throughout highschool but I lost interest over time and stopped near the end of highschool, My team's defense didn't really work, at all, and when I would concede a goal and then try and tell them this was the reason we conceded they keep saying "don't make excuses", which pushed me to train too hard, which I think might be partly why my body is currently in quite a bad state medically, and Ive lost a lot confidence in myself to the point where I don't really exercise at all anymore.
The goal at around 9min: he was indeed confused about the rules. He thought since the last person to touch the ball was his teammate that him picking it up would result in a penalty.
Hey tyler i have a question, what should i do if a striker is trying to block my view of the ball during a free kick, similar to messis free kick against ecuador
It's obviously very annoying to deal with. I'd say just try to find a window to see the ball without moving your preferred position too much. Sometimes leaning your upper body a bit to get a different viewing angle can help a bit also. And then of course like on all freekicks don't cheat and move before you know which direction the ball is going.
If the striker is in an offside position while blocking your view, tell the ref before the free kick is taken that the striker can't be in an offside position and blocking your view. If the striker doesn't move from that position and then they score the free kick, the ref should know the situation and give offside as the striker has interfered with play (by blocking the GKs view) in an offside position. If the ref doesn't call offside, firstly you have a terrible ref but secondly make him aware again that the striker was blocking your view and that you did tell him before the freekick (so it doesn't seem like you are just moaning because you've conceded a goal). The ref should at least consult with the lineman to confirm the striker was in an offside position then give an offside call if they were. If the ref doesn't even do that, then you've got a really terrible ref with an ego too big to admit they initially made a mistake and need to change their decision from a goal to offside
12:55 I think it would be a very harsh call to consider that a pass/backpass. My understanding of the "Backpass Rule" is the pass needs to be intentional. I saw that play by the defender as a "clearance attempt." For instance, I don't think we'd be scrutinizing it at all if the defender had simply shanked an incoming cross, with the keeper then claiming the loose ball. Similar idea. That's what the last 23ish years of my football playing & watching life has taught me anyways haha.
The first goal was scored by Ethan who is a West Hame fan and if its not obvious by the massive West Ham badge (tbf you might not know who West Ham are so the badge means nothing to you) the match watch played at West Ham's stadium, i'm nit a West Ham fan but i think the stadium is just called London Stadium or The London Stadium
I didn't plan on watching the KSI video... but now that I've seen KSI just past the halfway line, while he's supposed to be a goalkeeper. Like, I'm no soccer player, but I'm pretty sure that the Goalie's not supposed to be deep in enemy territory 😂
Brother in the first clip where you suggested that he comes front to cover the space from the 1st pole but there is another striker running, incase he charges then the goal would be free for a pass-goal. Thought?
Respect for the keepers attitude though. I would have got terribly embarrased but he kept his head held high and recognised the value of the little wins.
This is ABC. I read the book described football basics, goalkeeper vs forward position and so on, when I started middle school. It was really helpful. Kids want to get knowledge, but especially they’re interested in. Parents should keep an eye on this.
Always keep on your toes, got to be the quickest over 5 metres. Never stand still for a set piece, always give yourself a little take off run up so you can meet the ball at the highest point possible and make up an extra 5-6 inches. Safe Hands! 🙌
The first rule of Goalkeeping is the same as the first rule of comedy: You have to commit. You can't be worried about getting hurt by the ground when you dive for a save, you just have to launch yourself, THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS IS STOPPING THE SHOT. xQc hadn't learned that lesson yet.
You can't blame him, he isn't an experienced goalkeeper and this was probably his first real experience as one Not everyone is built for being a goalkeeper and he isn't one of those person, nothing wrong with that Messi, Rodger Federer, Lebron James and Mike Tyson are also probably horrible goalkeeper but that doesn't make them any less of an athlete
bro i'm only 5'9 but I love playing goalie, I consider myself a fast and agile goalie.. not for professional standards. But I think you need a certain degree of fearlessness in goal, agree with everything you said though
Finally someone who understand that XQC is not really athletic, doesnt work blue collar job or anything, so he basically started with a bunch of negatives even compared to your average Sunday league goalkeeper.
in the "duel" against his own teammate.. I would blame the defender over the goalie there.. in regards to the "sliding save", it was a block of shot and a save, it was and should 100/100 times be "pick up-able" by the goalie as it was never intended as a pass in that scenario.
He dives like he's scared of the ground... As amateur, I've been playing as goalkeeper my whole life but I still struggle with that "scoop" save 😂 in the case of that goal, I would have just deflected it
As a ref, def would not have called an indirect if goalie picked up the defender’s slide save. There’s no way to be able to call that an intentional pass to the keeper.
Times like these I wish I made a RUclips channel of my starting out gk on my own lol maybe could’ve gained traction since not a big gk RUclipsr market lol
What's up with that title? (I know nothing about that event) XQC played really well based on what I saw in this video. The opposing strikers clearly don't play for the first time here. To make things worse for XQC, his defenders don't do a good job in the clips you showed, he basically had no chance saving like of those 4 goals at least. His defense just stood there and didn't put any pressure on the strikers. He also seems to be a really good sport, not blaming his team, celebrating himself, acting fun with that spin for example even after fumbling. Seems to be a good fit for a streamer event. I feel like that's also what you said, but then I don't understand why he's the worst rated?

That last one hits home a bit for me, I was a goalkeeper throughout highschool but I lost interest over time and stopped near the end of highschool, My team's defense didn't really work, at all, and when I would concede a goal and then try and tell them this was the reason we conceded they keep saying "don't make excuses", which pushed me to train too hard, which I think might be partly why my body is currently in quite a bad state medically, and Ive lost a lot confidence in myself to the point where I don't really exercise at all anymore.
I think xqc did fine, I'm glad people who understand the game are still relatively supportive of him too
Common mistake of ragtag team, they think GK is the least important position then put the least experienced person as GK.
The goal at around 9min: he was indeed confused about the rules. He thought since the last person to touch the ball was his teammate that him picking it up would result in a penalty.
Loved that you were really positive with what an inexperienced goalkeeper could and could not do in these situations
00:29 you know what else is massive.....??
LOWWW TAPPERRRR FAAAAADEEEEEEE
Xqc also had jidion for a defender. Dude was secretly playing for the sidemen lmao
@@GKGOLUREMI yea I watched your videos I never cheat as it's an easy finish for the striker. I agree very annoying from these annoying strikers
@@rhysscale912 thanks for the reply I'll definitely consider trying that next time
My toxic trait is thinking I'd do well as a goalie in this match, but then again I used to play football a lot as a kid
Jidion thought he's playing basketball 😂
12:55 I think it would be a very harsh call to consider that a pass/backpass. My understanding of the "Backpass Rule" is the pass needs to be intentional. I saw that play by the defender as a "clearance attempt."
For instance, I don't think we'd be scrutinizing it at all if the defender had simply shanked an incoming cross, with the keeper then claiming the loose ball. Similar idea.
That's what the last 23ish years of my football playing & watching life has taught me anyways haha.
The first goal was scored by Ethan who is a West Hame fan
and if its not obvious by the massive West Ham badge (tbf you might not know who West Ham are so the badge means nothing to you) the match watch played at West Ham's stadium, i'm nit a West Ham fan but i think the stadium is just called London Stadium or The London Stadium
You gotta be in the next one!
6:49 Oliver Kahn vs Ronaldo / Brazil vs Germany / 2002 World Cup finals
finally new vid
I didn't plan on watching the KSI video... but now that I've seen KSI just past the halfway line, while he's supposed to be a goalkeeper. Like, I'm no soccer player, but I'm pretty sure that the Goalie's not supposed to be deep in enemy territory 😂
This is exactly how one would imagine how an actual real sports game would look like with a bunch of people who play video games all day at home
XQC was probably calling his teammates, "Chat chat, chat... lissen"
8:05 first time i see someone do a 720 xD
Goalkeeping is really hard dudes.
I think xqc said at 9:05 he is confused on the rule like he isn't sure if he is allowed to pick it up there so it ended up in that situation
XQC hace ver a mr beast como Pelé
13:05 he was in the clear to pick it up, as it would’ve been at worst considered a pass forward and not a deliberate pass back to toward the keeper
HERE WE GO AGAIN
This is ABC.
I read the book described football basics, goalkeeper vs forward position and so on, when I started middle school. It was really helpful.
Kids want to get knowledge, but especially they’re interested in. Parents should keep an eye on this.
I think everytime he conxedes a goal he learns thats what I'm getting from this
Very fair and I agree with the analysis
Typo in the title btw
Great video
GK GOLUREMI you should talk about Dutch Goalkeeper’s videos I wanna see if you approve it or not
4:55 "Does he know?"
Pepelaugh Teatime
Can you make a video on how to get around as being a short goalie like me
Always keep on your toes, got to be the quickest over 5 metres. Never stand still for a set piece, always give yourself a little take off run up so you can meet the ball at the highest point possible and make up an extra 5-6 inches. Safe Hands! 🙌
love u goluremi
The first rule of Goalkeeping is the same as the first rule of comedy: You have to commit.
You can't be worried about getting hurt by the ground when you dive for a save, you just have to launch yourself, THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS IS STOPPING THE SHOT.
xQc hadn't learned that lesson yet.
You can't blame him, he isn't an experienced goalkeeper and this was probably his first real experience as one
Not everyone is built for being a goalkeeper and he isn't one of those person, nothing wrong with that
Messi, Rodger Federer, Lebron James and Mike Tyson are also probably horrible goalkeeper but that doesn't make them any less of an athlete
I hope Xqc sees this and makes a better attempt next year!
bro i'm only 5'9 but I love playing goalie, I consider myself a fast and agile goalie.. not for professional standards. But I think you need a certain degree of fearlessness in goal, agree with everything you said though
Finally someone who understand that XQC is not really athletic, doesnt work blue collar job or anything, so he basically started with a bunch of negatives even compared to your average Sunday league goalkeeper.
1:40 nba moment
When i was watching xQc it made me realise pro goalkeepers are like god.
13:20 what’s manuel neuer doing there
in the "duel" against his own teammate..
(I know nothing about that event)
XQC played really well based on what I saw in this video.
He actually could save almost all goals
he might not have been amazing, but he was decent for it being his first time in goal.
The action saved on the line cannot be considered a pass even by chance
