After the first heel hook on his right leg when vinny gets out and steps forward his right foot almost straightens all the way to the floor on both steps if you look closely. Then the last heel hook was on his left leg and it popped and craig felt it. Heal well Vinny and God Speed.
Assuming the crack at around 0:43 was the bone breaking, it looks like Craig lost the knee line and then the femur can rotate and the heel hook loses effectiveness but then all his weight was on top of Vinny's leg below the knee like you would position yourself to attack an straight ankle with your belly down with the exception that he had a heel hook grip. That might explain how the knee and foot did not suffer damage and the fibula was broken instead.

Worse than that more likely. It’s called a heel hook, but what actually breaks is your knees. Ligaments just tearing up as your knee twists out of its socket. Ankles do sometimes get twisted but it’s mostly the knee...which is much harder to heal than the ankle.
