If so, I would like to try something like this to turn my generator off and on as well as turn off or on the fuel supply. This will save me so much time to go downstairs to turn it on whenever the power goes out.
That's of course correct, It's not magic. You have to do what he did and build some hardware that can accomplish your tasks. Use a raspberry pi with built in wifi (very cheap $$)
