      I've studied it systematically, and I'm tired of explaining such knowledge to the people around me, so I want to find a suitable link that can be thrown directly to them.

    Great video, thanks.
    I think we should start giving viruses better press because the science on them would then improve also. When something is classed as the bad we are inclined to jump to conclusions that enhance that view. Viruses might be totally necessary for life.

      Nice attempt at diverting people's attention from a good point that you're obviously a perpetrator of by pointing out an irrelevant portion of the claim to gain attention from people like you

      I get the point you're trying to make, and I'm sure they appreciate you sticking up for them, but I don't think we have to make our own videos to critique the video. It's better to have someone tell you what you've done wrong and improve rather than continue to do wrong, right?

    I have one question: Do bacteriophages attack only bacterias? what about eukaryotic cells? You viral replication video mentions that there are three mechanisms of invading a host. So does it mean bacteriophages sneak eukaryotic cells?

    • @marielakrumova115
      @marielakrumova115 3 года назад

      It has been two years, but anyway. Bacteriophages "attack" only bacteria, that is what the name of the group means. If it attacked other cells it wouldn't be bacteriophage

    I miss the 720p quality. The writing is a little fuzzy when it's just at 360. But all in all a really good explanation. Thank you very much for everything you all do.

    What happens to the original bacteriophage after injecting the bacteria with its DNA/RNA? Is there a "wear out date" for a virus or does it hang out until consumed by the immune system? Thanks in advance

    • @taujohansen
      @taujohansen 7 лет назад +2

      a virus has no metabolism and therefor it cannot make new things that let's it stay alive.
      See it like your skin and other things, in less than a year, your whole body, isn't what is was a year before because all cells had been replaced.
      But viruses cant do this, so they just die by they're own after some time.

    Icosahedral means 20 sides, i am soooo confused!

    • @neilparikh8041
      @neilparikh8041 8 лет назад +3

      Are you confused because she drew it as a hexagon at some point? I will assume so, and answer that for you: icosehdral is indeed 20 sides- imagine a 20 sided die as a 3 dimensional object. Now, cut that die right down the "middle" as a type of cross section and it will appear to be a hexagon. At that point, drawing it 2D as a hexagon is an accurate way to depict the icosehedral shape.
