I was in a really bad spot in my life not too long ago when I stumbled upon Welcome to Wrexham and couldn't stop watching. The story of the town and the tragedy that it has been through reminded me that even as bad as it seemed for me others had it much worse and I should be thankful for what I have. Seeing them secure back to back promotions when people counted them out helped give me hope and seeing the resilience of the people of Wrexham showed me that I have that strength in me too. I never cared for soccer (yeah I'm American so what lol) but now I can stop checking the scores on Saturday and love seeing the rebirth of the town and it's club. Come on You Reds, make history and make it 3 straight promotions
Do it mate, the people are what make Wrexham great, you’ll have an awesome time, I met tomi on the weekend and he was lovely then I ended chatting to a bunch of people from Wrexham and I was made to feel so welcome,
Probably the best video you've done Tomi. Brought a tear to my eye as my great uncle is still down there. Don't often comment but had to this time. Great effort. Cofiwch Gresffordd
Thank you for posting this. A respectful and sometimes emotional video which covers how the disaster occured, the impact of the disaster on the Town and community, the underlying exploitation of the miners and the associated injustices that followed the disaster. It is pleasing to see that this sad event is remembered with the reverence it deserves and that Wrexham AFC are fully embedded in supporting the local community.
What a powerful piece this is! Well done Tomi and all involved. Particularly resonates with me being a Merthyr Town fan, the Aberfan disaster was 32 years after the Gresford disaster which saw the same disregard for the lives and communities of working class people. Unfortunately no lessons learnt by those in power.
Great episode, Tomi. Small graphical error in the name of Crawley's goal scorer (at 12:15, 12:42 and 13:13) - it was Quitirna at 54', not Marriott of course.
Fantastic pal. Really appreciate the way in which you blended the tragedy of the disaster along with the highlights of the game. Very well done mate, brilliant to watch 👍
The difference that quality ownership can have is stark in this video. When it is about exploitation and greed, tragedy will strike eventually. When it is about respect, love, and passion... Well. You get three promotions on the bounce. UTFT!!!!
Well done Tomi, that was an excellent video, mining being such an integral part of Welsh life going back to the stone age it breaks your heart to hear these stories but they must also never be forgotten.
I always knew there was a serious side to you Tomi, and this is the best journalism I’ve come across by you, da iawn chdi mêt 😢 👏🏼👏🏼 😉👍🏼💪🏼🔴⚪️🏴🏴
@@TomLewis-tu6xz Happens all the time hon 🙈 My daughter and I were standing with Wayne and Shel when you collared him about his sunburn at Bolton. We see you all the time but haven't plucked up courage to say hi!
Is Tomi well? We have enjoyed following his coverage of Wrexham games and community, but haven’t seen a new video uploaded in about a month now. Hope all is well and for this series to continue. Thank you - and Up the Town! ❤

Really wish they had weekly episodes. They keep skipping multiple weeks.
Brilliant episode Tomi. Cofiwch Gresffordd🖤
The more I learn about the people of Wrexham, the more I love them, the more I root for them. Paying them a visit is high on my bucket list.
