Hi Ian, Thank you for bringing us along for a tour of another great music shop! I admire the organization, clear labeling and care they take in presenting the used vinyl. It shows they really care about preserving these treasures of music for fans to enjoy and for all the artist that created them. Happy hunting I hope you found some exciting vinyl for your collection!
Dear James! Thank you for coming by again!... yes there is King Crimson one of your favourite bands, here again as well!!! :-D Hmm... i agree... they really cherish these treasures and catalogue and identify properly, and store them well for all of us to enjoy. Best Regards my friend!
Thanks Ian for the vinyl store tours in Ochanomizu. I appreciated the proficiency in the cataloging system they were using in the store, particularly the blue dividers with the yellow lettering of the artist. I thought that was really well done. A small thing but an important thing also from the customer point of view. The vinyl selections you highlighted were amazing to see. Cheers my friend !
Thank you James for looking at the cataloging and tags!... yes... it must have taken the staff a lot of effort to know, be aware, understand the important identifiers, and list them out for us customers. I love it ost that they allow customers to inspect and play these gems before commiting to buy them. Vey reassuring. Best Regards James and family! Sincerely, ian.
All those original Beatles albums. That is truly incredible! I would have fainted if I entered that shop and saw all of the gorgeous albums. Great video thanks for sharing that experience.
Hi Ian! Don’t know how I missed this vid! All those beautiful early UK pressings were such a treat to see. I luckily bought The Beatles mono box set when it came out, but still own some original UK mono and stereo pressings too. I’d actually have to say that the newer Beatles mono LP’s from 2014 tend to sound a bit more dynamic and clearer than some of the “real deal” pressings. Man, was that store amazing! Thanks so much for taking us along! 🎶🔊🙂
Dearest Nick👋😄!!!! Hi, and thank you for catching up here as well!!!! 😄😄😄 Ooooh yes those original pressings...what a treat to behold, and to hold them in my own hands! I envy and understand how you feel about having those early mono pressings that feel more visceral!!! Real EYE-openers! Warmest Regards my friend 😄👍and have a good week ahead!
Love the down the train view and sounds,... memories! SOO many Beatles records, remember seeing them as a supporting act and thinking 'could do better'. They did. Thanks again for another interesting vinyl trip. Oh well I guess it's time to upset someone else, so long Ian and take care.
Dear Derek, :-D thank you for coming by and hearing the train sounds!!! Memories for you and your wife! I am happy to be able to provide a snippet of that in the video for all of you. Sincerely, Ian :-)
Dear Shaun!!! Hahaha...oh yes... she's at home. Thank you for asking!and your cute and clever concern!!! Brings me a smile before our National Holiday tomorrow, the National Day of Singapore. Thank you Shaun! Here is wishing you great vinyl listening every day with your family and friends:-D - ian
Yes I have a much loved dog as well ( Daisy ) and its great owning pets who have their own little habits and ways, and are great fun. Thanks for kind reply and your channel is very well presented and informative.
Ian, thanks for all these great tours of these stores. Makes we want to travel back to Japan someday / once again for a long vacation. I will need to bring a lot of cash however! Take care my vinyl buddy.
Hi Stuart!.. hahaha... that Tull... really excited to pull them out!!!! The time will come the time will come...U.K. has many vinyl fans too and i believe the industry will keep growing steadily. Definitely. I am positive. We ride the wave together and onwards with more and more vinyl friends!!! I had engaged and have guidedmore than 30 in my past 6 months...it was really busy but fun!!! Best regards my friend :-D
Hi Jose! Thank you fellow Brother-in-Vinyl!!! :-D let us keep up the vinyl spirit and energy, alive and kicking into the next 30 years!!! Best Regards to you and your family on a peaceful restful Sunday :-D sincerely, ian.
Yeah. Every year, when Austin holds the biggest record fair in North America, Japanese buyers from places like Disc Union fly in and snap up the copies that are in really good shape. I have heard many dealers here hold their best stock off to the side for the show. It would not surprise me if they do the same in the Netherlands during their huge fair every year.
YEEEAAAAAAA ( Beatles, Dylan, Pink Floyd, etc.)
Dear Jose!!!! Amazing... you are ALWAYS SO SHARP!!!! to have spotted so many things the videos!!!! Hahahaha :-D Thumbs up to you too my brother!!!! Big hug to you too!!!! Hope to see you face-to-face one day too! until then, let's keep our vinyl friendship running!!!... and with other friends around us as well!!! Hi five! Sincerely, Ian :-D
ptrcksln i do congratulate you and am happy for your proper upgrade from a dj cartridge. As long as your ears hear your choice cartridge well and you love the sound... ENJOYYY!!! Brother i am very happy for you. Best regards to you on a peaceful Sunday, - ian :-)
Another good and nice video, thank you very much and by the way, I love your filming outside, all the best from me to you, Mike from Germany and hey, Rega fan!
Hi Mike!!!! Guten Tag!!! :-D :-D Thank you for your feedback and appreciation really! I always love to view other VC friends' filming of the surroundings of the record stores too...wherever they are. It is just so much more lively to me as a viewer. So i guess that goes the same to you and other friends too! :-D hahaha.. Best Regards to you and your family Mike! Rega fan! :-D
Wow, that was a great record store. There was some true gems in that place. I saw so many albums I would have grabbed. Thanks for this great tour of vinyl shops in your country !!
Dear brother! I am a Singaporean and my wife (Japanese) has been staying in Singapore for the past 20+ years too. It is okay! Thank you for coming by yet again and for your kind words and support! Thank you brother! - ian :-)
Hi Ian. Thanks for another great video. I had to double check the Yen / Sterling exchange rate! Crikey! They do look like serious, mint condition collectors records to be fair. Nothing beats the feeling of finding a gem at a fraction of those prices, though. And I don't mind a sleeve that shows a bit of its previous life! Cheers, Wayne.
Ah yes Wayne. i agree... finding gems in crates at lesser prices would really make one punch the air "yes!!!" quietly to prevent catching the attention of others too at the store!!!!! :-D Hahahaha!!! Yes those kicks!!!!
You know in America, CDs are NEVER stored spine like that, they are always made to flip like records - very interesting. Nice new vinyl, for sure! A bit pricey for my blood, but still amazing condition for sure. If you wanted to get the ONE special album to you, this would be the place for sure.
Another great video Ian, wow vinly is super pricy in Japan $140 USD for used one. If you are in San Fran, do visit Amoeba records haight ashbury , best collection I have seen.
AH yes!!! Amoeba Records at San Francisco!!!! :-D Thank you brother Albert!!!!!!!! Yummy yum yum Amoeba... the closest I can get to Amoeba now is that vinyl record tote bad that is being sold at HMV Shibuya store and Googlemapping it :-P Best Regards my friend!!
It would have been great if you could have spun up some of those Beatles UK 1st pressings and some of the recent AAA mono releases and compared the sound.
True!! :-D... unfortunately, gotta catch up with my family back in the hotel before travelling up to Saitama to visit my parents-in-law in the evening. It was great to hold in my hands these Beatles treasures... a pity I couldn't spin them to compare the sound.... true... a missed opportunity! :-D Thank you Bob for coming by and catching up again!! Best Regards for you and your family at this weekend! - Ian.
I recently found your channel. I am so impressed with Japanese culture in the Hi fi scene. I have to tell you every video you upload is music to my ears. They have more records dende even know they have they don't even know how many they have in their collection.
Hey man! I'm going to be visiting Japan sometime soon and I was wondering if you have any recommendations on shops that sell movie soundtracks, British invasion stuff, elvis presley?

I must admit so...for physical media for music!!!
Best Regards my friend,
