You’re doing great, things change so much when you have your freedoms in college. You’ll find a family of friends. Choose friends that you envy their lifestyle, because the more you hang around them, the more you become them. - from a girl who changed her life with who she made friends with. I was in a situation similar to foster care. With love- Olivia

This may be a stupid question (and kinda off-topic), but can other Americans tell me if this how every American high school looks like? I grew up in Germany, and we didn't have a school gym or anything of that sort. We merely had a standard run-of-the-mill sports hall (which was under repair for multiple years, so that, during that time, we had to take busses that drove us around town to other places). We also didn't have any 'specialized' classes (besides bilingual geography and history), god forbid, business law.
I've been lucky enough to get glimpses of schools in Britain and the Netherlands and remember being quite surprised by how much better schools seemed to be funded over there, but this seems to be a different story entirely.
Is this how regular public high schools look like? Does anyone know how school funding works over there?

i can only speak for the schools i’ve been to, the high school i was at wasn’t considered a ‘great’ by many but a lot of public high schools where l live do offer a relatively wide range of ‘specialized’ classes for those who’d like to take them, although a large chunk of students don’t utilize them and only take the required basic courses they need. This school had a decent amount of funding compared to smaller schools i’ve been at, and had a gym along with a separate fitness machine gym and an outdoor track. So as far as of this looks like a ‘regular high school’, regionally for me yes it does but I can’t speak for the rest of America, but I can guarantee there are plenty of school worse than this and ones that are even nicer
