Great video Rudy, watched the first half during my break at work, finished it now. Love these audits and hearing your opinions on the market especially as I’ve only been in magic for about a year
Started playing when Beta hit the Midwest. It's not uncommon for some higher powered cards (think creatures back then) to have to edges marked up. Reason was deck sleeves didn't exist. So when you shuffled your deck you could see if you big guns were closer to the top or buried deep...and you kept shuffling!
The light crease on the top, center of the pearl looks like it accidentally was bent when it didn’t go into a sleeve easily. I had that happen before but with a breeding pool.
My beta time twister has the same level of touch up on it. Then again I got it for 80 instead of 270 it was listed at at the time so I can’t say I didn’t know. Considering I just wanted the full set to have and play with in sleeves, I am still glad I bought it despite the heavy markings.

My Sapphire and Emerald Moxes looked a lot like that Mox Jet. But I had traded several Revised rares for each so no big deal to me. By the time I sold my collection they had appreciated in price.
I heard this from my local game store, so take it with a grain of salt, but apparently the factories where top loaders are made have shifted production to face screens for health care workers and are only making a fraction of the top loaders they used to, hence lower supply.

I have been meaning to ask you Rudy, when you buy a collection and the cards are dirty as far as the surface goes. Do you try to clean them, or do you just leave them as is?
Not a market guy but ist the fact that the dual lands having more playability have to do with the fact that they are worth more so much as compared to older more rare cards that dont really get used if at all. I mean I know for a fact that people are searching for any good lands regardless of condition to make decks so those revised dual lands would be the easiest to move and get a return on than an alpha/beta that is for collectors use only.
Would also more likely sell this stuff to someone who keeps it. If the prices skyrocket, you know someone earns the money that could have been yours, but you can ignore that if you know they never change hands again.
if you have a card that's inked like that, the best thing you can do (other than playing it in a deck of course) is have it professionally altered into an extended art card by a skilled painter.
Why hasn’t Wizards made a “Beta” master set yet? Like have a new master set but have all the card frames look like the “beta card” frame..it would see like hot cakes. Especially if they did fetch lands or shocks with the beta frame
Here in europe, FWB duals are like 95% as Revised; theres little difference. Mostly, if somebody has the duals in its language, tends to go towards owning/wanting the duals of his language. Italians, french and germans are lucky, so everybody else miht still take the FWBs or go for Revised. But yeah theres little difference.
You say the dual lands and the power 9 prices have to balance out.... IE the power 9 go higher, due the higher price of the dual lands. I think it's more complicated than that. The cost of entry of a $200-$1000 dual land is still almost half of the cost of the lowest power 9. Dual lands are expensive, but affordable. When people think about buying Power 9 cards, the question becomes... "Do I want to eat this month, or do I want a power 9 card"...
Also, the actual demand is just way higher for dual lands. Legacy players want 4 of a dual land to use. Nobody but investors needs more than one of a Mox.
