I love using quicklist. Helps make scanning easier. It does scan some cards from the wrong set, or the wrong style of card, as MTG has like 17 different versions of every new card printing, but it is a beautiful thing to help speed up the inventory process. What a collection and what a find.
Loved the cradles! I already finisehd my 40 revised dual lands playset. Currently working on an unlimited dual land set of 10. After I finish my UNL dual land 10-card set (I am one UNL Scrubland away), I am going to try getting the Urza's land cycle (already got Tolarian Academy twice). I build my collection by steps, conceptually limiting my current desires, so as not to spread out too much and end with a plethora of cards from different sets or themes, but no cohesion. Buy completing certain objectives one at a time I also keep control of my expenses in cardboard. Plus the hunt is easier and you do not get distracted by other super nice cards.
I played from 95' to 2004. Used to buy Duals for $5-10 each and trade value from $3-8 each (Revised and UL). At one point I had probably close to 150 of them. If I could only turn time back. Sigh. The biggest laugh though was when I traded at a small lgs after a tournament - my Revised WOF for an Alpha Jet. Nobody wanted Alpha back then. Looking back, it was crazy.
@@GaMbIt1986 This was early 94' at my lgs in rural TN and my main lgs Chattanooga. Literally nobody wanted Alpha due to them not being legal to play at that time and sleeves weren't a thing. I could buy Alpha starters for about $40-50 when Beta was $175-200. I'm not surprised in bigger areas that people held onto Alpha, but Beta was king for a good while until sleeves became common and corner cheating was no longer an issue.
Hey Louie! Could you do a video explaining how to tell the different between unlimited vs. revised dual lands? Your content is awesome! Keep up the great work!
Revised start with a Tap to add mana line of text and have more text than unlimited and unlimited do not start with the “tap to add R or B” mana line on a badland for example. Just figured this out recently with a side by side on tcgplayer haha.
so how do the mechanics of a sale like this happen? You give a range of what you will pay and the exact price is achieved after you grade/price them and calculate the discount (70% or whatever). Does he still have the option of passing on the deal if he doesn't like the final price even though you did all that leg work? thanks for the content, that's a nice collection.
We agreed on a scaling rate based on value of cards. Same rate I usually use. He sent a test set of cards to make sure we agreed on how to condition certain things. Then we went forward with the full transaction
Best way to buy MTG is at dealer prices. If you can set up a buy list on a site do it. It is like getting double value out of the cards you buy. Great find Louie.
@@katielowen TCG player is the main one. Setting up your own website is also another option. I have dealt with local stores before too when I'm looking to buy higher end cards or a larger amount of cards and gotten discounts so it's like half way between the buy list and retail.
@@PopoTCGgame has never been better? When I was playing standard was just as fun as playing modern. Hard work, rolling profits, calculated risk. Started my business with $10k cash from selling old cameras, a0 subscriber RUclips channel and my magic trade binder in my basement.
@@KitchenTableTCG Thanks for the response. I really appreciate the insight. I remember coming across your channel during Monarch 1st Edition Pre-Orders. There was a TCGplayer special for a booster box of it for $150. You were advertising it on your channel. If I remember correctly, at the time you kept count of subscribers on a piece of paper on your wall. I think you were around the 800’s in subscribers. To see how you’ve kept consistent and built this for yourself and your family, truly inspiring. Congratulations on your current success and I wish you all the more to come.
The continuous reprinting of expensive cards by wizards can be frustrating for collectors. It diminishes the exclusivity and value of these cards, impacting the collecting experience and investment potential for collectors.

What a collection and what a find.
I absolutely love seeing collections! Would love to see all sorts of pickups like this.
My collection sits at 68K cards. His dual lands alone cost more than all my cards. I wish I didn't sell all of my dual lands 10 years ago.

I got my unlimited Underground Sea's for $25 each and I remember debating on pressing the place bid button on eBay because it felt like too much 😂

Everyone I've played with has always wanted alpha, I started during mirage. Sounds like jet owner didn't know what he had

Owner got ripped off
Show off and tell. That's all we're doing here today... 🤭 gratz on the amazing collection purchase. I want that Mox Lotus!
dude that's insane great job
Guessing too late but @7:56 you have a unlimited scrubland it appears may have not been identified as such.
I think you can overlook the one fake card. You made out like a bandit

The dream, for real.
Please get a diffuser for your light the glare makes some cards illegible
I remember buying duals for $7, but then my collection is out of control too
I can't believe guardian beast doesn't sell it is awesome super rare card. I have a near mint copy in my great henge deck
Back in the day, $12 for Scrublands was *expensive*! Underground Sea for $12? Yes.....Scrubland?? No way! More like $7-10, max!
back then my old lgs had a box of duals. It was a pick it yourself box for $10 per card. Variety of conditions.
holy crap what a collection!

Looks exactly like my collection. Sad to see another older player leaving the game but totally understandable. Good job wotc!
I mean yeah. The cards coming out are fun. Games have never been better.
People don't tend to play the same games forever.
@@PopoTCGif you don’t care for modern and love commander that is. I still play and it’s still fun. But man they murdered modern.

70k collection and you found a singular fake card? Definitely a lot more in there
I need a 4 dual lands for a cedh deck..can you help me out on price or trade?
Sweet collection!
lol the glare triggered me the entire video
Me too :( damn lighting in the shop sucks.
The dual land alone pays for it
There is nothing like this around me :(
"How many chaos orbs does one person need"
Easy - one for every deck. It's colourless
Where did you get the capital to purchase such a collection? I’m genuinely curious. Congrats!

It's always funny when people can't recognize the difference between Unlimited And Revised when they're spending a fortune on cards :P
What’d I miss?
A lot of dollars right there. Very cool
Reflection dude 😐
Holy Jeebus 😮
Beautiful. 🥪

who gives a shit? the game should come first. collectors should absolutely be secondary.
With money collect is so easy eh?
wow
PLIZ learn a better way t turn binder pages
That's how the collection came lmao listen to what the guy's saying before going off 😂
Poor guy :/
A land that taps for two kinds of mana. BORING!
There is no way all those cards someone is only asking 70k...
6 wheel of fortune
5 gaeas craddle
200 dual lands
5 sliver queens
Vintage cards worth over 2k or more
And half of the reserved list

lol you like doubled the number of each card and tripled the dual lands
Phat
Did you inheritor money to buy this
MTg cards are not rare,
Why are they priced as they are then?
this is why i dont buy mtg so much of it out there is unreal way better investment out there then cardboard
Amazing collection!
