Geoff is a Gjellerhorn, the Norse horn on which Heimdall will sound the call to Ragnarok. I think this is an ancient Norse war song so it doesn’t have lots of verses.
Another reactor said that Geoff (Foghorn Castellucci) sounded like he was one bad day away from becoming a Marvel supervillain…😂 And that noise Layne made has been referred to as an electronic bong rip. Fantastic reaction…can’t wait for the results.
As you can probably guess, this was earlier than "Valhalla Calling". It is on the way to current VoicePlay. Highlights for me were 'Viking Warhorn' impersonation by Geoff and 'Berserker' Eli. At the time they did this we had not really heard Eli like this much. This is even pre-"Hoist the Colors". Other highlight? Not as repetitive as many covers of this song. I really wish I understood what many people call 'pop-py'. It is not in my opinion 'pop-like' but since you are not the only ones to say it, I think my definition might be different. To me pop-like implies it tends to be a bit blah so that appeals to the masses. No risk taking.
It’s funny because Layne is such a beast at beatboxing-but we all just love it when he sings as well. Of course I love Geoff’s bass-and his bass lines are always incredible, but I also just love it when Eli gets to go full on rock god. I don’t think it’s possible to really compare versions of this song. These guys are always going to take off in an entirely different direction from other groups and singers. Anyway, great reaction, guys!

That's a great tip which I'd like to add to. As indicated, the left and right arrows move forwards and backwards 5 seconds (actually 7), but there are additional navigation shortcuts that are perfect for reviewing videos: The J button rewinds 10 seconds (more like 15) and the L button fast forwards the same amount. The space bar, of course, also functions the same as K and pauses. With J+K+L being grouped together, the navigation hotkeys are easier to utilize with one hand without needing to move about the keyboard.
@@missconstrues Well, the spacebar not always works as a pause button, only when you're focused on the video. If you alt+tab away to a second monitor and then alt+tab back, the focus is on the control bar below the video and spacebar doesn't work except to highlight it. But K always works :D

I love this cover. Eli owns his part, just as he did in Hoist The Colors and Seven Nation Army. You should also check out Peyton Parrish's rendition of My Mother Told Me in Old Norse. That will get your blood pumping! Really enjoyed the reaction and looking forward to the next one!

And the two of them went to high school together, Jose was a couple of years ahead of Cesar, This has never been one of my favorites so I'm not going to argue with you this time. Awesome! As for the make-up... someone said, under the original video, I think: "Geoff looks like a ancient dark god, and Eli looks like the crazy priest who leads his cult". Found that pretty spot-on. As for the song: It's not my favourite one by VoicePlay anymore (even though this does not say much - it is really hard to chose with them) , but with harmonies being pretty flawless, and this being one of the first songs of VoicePlay I heard as well as being the first time I heard this song in general, I still like it quite a bit and then some. Now - I hate to be pushing things, but will you include Saltatio Mortis' version of "My mother told me" in your battle as well? (I have the feeling that you will forever regret it if you don't. _Just saying..._ - Well, I would, at the very least. 😂 )

Not my favorite song of anyone's (even VP but they are the reason I listen to it in the garden), very repetitive so the only thing you can do is dress it up in your own style. I will be going back to listen to the versions you react to ,may wait till you finish and binge them. Have you heard the "Topher - The Patriot (feat. The Marine Rapper)" , My Mother Told Me is in there and the first time a lot of people heard it because it got BANNED in the US during lockdown.
