I myself fitted 15x8 rims with 225 50 15 tyres and the improvement in handling (comfort as well) is amazing. Yes I did adjust my ride height after fitting the new rims but you would always lower after fitting the rims not the other way around. nice work.

At the time I had a custom exhaust a shop made.tires have been great so far but I've switched to a bigger wheel and r888r. Haven't put any miles on them yet though. As for other updates it's got a big valve head, 550 injectors, cam, tune, RMW headers, another custom exhaust, front mount intercooler, and GP garage wide fender and race front bumper kit, and a carbon fiber hood.

@@nathanpaullloyd if I remember correctly it was 2.5inch pipe with a muffler and resonator delete but still had the cat. It still took the stock path as well, making a Y around the battery box instead of just going to one side. We've talked about doing an update video but the car is so far ahead of where we last uploaded and we feel like people wanted to see the process instead of a finished project

Great vid. I have a question hoping that you can answer. I got a 2015 countryman S All4 came with 17” oem rims but I didn’t like the alloy look. So I got the 2016 black 10 spoke oem 17” rims when I went try to put them on it didn’t want to fit since the center hub was popping out too much ( the piece that overlapped middle of the spacer you put on) what can I do to make it fit can you provide me with a great spacer mm to get cause I really like the rims I just bought from a outside seller and I don’t want to be stuck with them leaving them to collect dust.

@@hpgarage3531 I tend to get custom offsets made but I understand that limits you to wheel manufacturers. Will be interesting to see how the wheel bearings hold up too. My latest mini of several is a first gen R50 cooper. More suited to my short journeys than the R56 without mods and catch cans. No problem with the R 50 coking up. But they are all great 😊.rubber that wide is a bit over lill for here but interesting to see other folks projects.

Can you put fatter tires on those wheels? I can see that there is a large gap between the tire and the wheel well. I kind of like the look of the Dsquared Mini, and I'm tired of scraping my front bumper.

There will always be some keyboard warrior that will complain. At the end of the day just do what you think looks good. You could always do air suspension?
The spacers essentially modify the offset. The recommended total is supposed to be near 35. With those spacers, you are running 15 mm offset. You might want to look into that, so not to mess up your bearings. You should have used some lock tight on the studs, I did not see that either. The Min forums have a lot of info on that. Also when you are using way out offset you change the alignment characteristics when the wheels are turned, a lot. I am not talking crap at you. I own a 06 MCS and run 215/45/17 and 225/50/16 sets with the 1/4 inch and half inch spacing so not to exceed the offset limits without suspension height changes. I would be worried about your offsets.

The combination of the new tires and wider wheels is night and day compared to my old ones. The amount of grip i have now is unbelievable! Torque steer is a lot worse as well, but it is still manageable. The only complaint i have is that the tires stick out so much that i'm throwing rocks/dirt at the side of my car. But that can be fixed by installing some mud flaps, Which i have and will hopefully be doing an install in the next 2 weeks.
Are you not supposed to have a gap? I thought the gap is to protect the frame and the tire so when the strut actuates, you dont get hurt or the car. You mean, put space in between tire and car inside the fender.
Easy on the lube guys……lol. It is actually easier when you use less lube. Get yourself some aluminum hub rings. It is also easier if you put the hub rings in the wheel first.

wrong width, wrong offset, wrong scrub radius. lower the ride height and there will be nothing left of your tyre wall or fender. please people be aware and don't waste your money like this guy. not only that the far out positive scrub radius is really bad for the stability of the car and can be dangerous... be warned and do your research.

Why not buy wheels with the correct off set rather than spacers ?
Couldn't find any with the correct specs that I liked. A lot more options available if you use spacers.

You can, but you run the risk of rubbing. I would recommend getting some new stiffer suspension and lower it a little to eliminate the gap.

That's all we used. Depending what size rim/tire you get you will rub the fenders. But i am on stock suspension at the moment and it is working great!
9" and a spacer on the front wheels... O.O You guys are totally RICING OUT a Mini. That is such a HUGE rear wing for a FWD car.

Car sits too high and as far as I know, where I live it ain't legal to have the tyres out of the fenders

It's pretty much illegal to have your tires beyond the widest point of the car. That's why people put on fender flares.
