    Thanks for all you do. I know some people would say it’s only socks but, for me, knitting socks and using your patterns has helped me get through some crappy times.

      It's never only socks! I'm the same as you - so much emotional attachment to sock knitting because it's helped me get through crap storms as well! I'm so glad my patterns have helped you! That makes my day to hear!

    I know you mentioned that you find it hard to film this, but the quality of the video is top notch. Thanks for teaching me this!

    Thank you Summer Lee. Your tip about going between the purl stitch on the backside made all the difference. You are right it’s slow going, but the end result is perfection. Thanks again.

    I knit since many years ago, and after having watched a ton of youtube videos about how to knit a lot of stuff and how to learn and use a thousand of techniques, I can say that this video is in my favourites since 2 years ago, and it's the most useful single video I've ever watched.

    I do a hybrid by knitting through back leg and purling regular through front leg. It makes a subtle twist.

      I like that too! I feel like full on twisted rib slows my down too much, so I'll sometimes just ktbl and purl regular.

      I do combination knitting as well. I'm trying Norwegian style via Arne & Carlos. I like their purl also. You don't move the yarn to the front. It's a toss up on which I like better but I'm still learning. I'm gonna train my hands to do both. Depending on the project.

    As a knitting teacher I have to say knitting way on the points of your needles like that gives you really tight knitting. Give it more stick!

    I love your tutorials! Would you be able to do a fleegle heel tutorial and/or Kitchener stitch? I’ve been struggling to learn both of these. Thanks for all you do, your designs and videos are some of my favorites 😃

    I'm a combination knitter. Also new but I crochet.( I do continental of course). So I found Arne & Carlos who do Norwegian knitting bthey twist the knits only. Anyhoo, I was just trying to figure out how to not untwist my stitches for combination knitting. I think u answered the question. Go thru back loop both times. I'm trying it now. Trying a bunch of different stuff whior I'm developing my muscle memory. I love combination knitting but Norwegian is nice too. Hard to keep my finger from sticking up. I normally try to keep my finger down and don't like purling where I have to push the yarn down w my finger.

    So I have done the ribbing of K1bl and a regular purl. What is the difference visually between what I do and this method? I am intrigued by yours. But the purl stitch isn't as visual as the knit stitch. So I am just curious?? Thank you!

    hi. did you increase in the pink 1x1 rib? im knitting a balaclava so i need the bottom ribbing to look like that V shape.

    I only know it with knitted stitches. Additionally twisted left is not bad either. Is the cuff elastic like a "normal" knitted one?

  • @missmaria165
    @missmaria165 2 года назад

    So I have played with this quite a bit...When I'm ribbing with a magic loop... I discovered that knitting normal stitches and wrapping the purl stitch backwards makes a snug rib.

    Can this be done with continental knitting? I'm trying to imagine it and just can't!

    Question: is there a difference in tension between the twisted rib and regular rib?
    Thanks!

    • @summerleedesignco.6471
      @summerleedesignco.6471  3 года назад +1

      I feel like my tension stays more consistent on twisted rib, and it's tighter for sure!

    • @jasminey1589
      @jasminey1589 3 года назад

      I don’t particularly like twisted as I have large ankles and it doesn’t stretch as much over them for socks 😅

  • @roseflowers7641

    I enjoy your tutorials but find that after I watch yours I have to search for the same type of tutorial but using Continental knitting, I have never knit as you do so it is difficult to follow along.

      Well think of all the people who have the opposite problem, or who flick or who hold their needles under their arm?
