H3VR Tournament Character First Patch!

- Tournament Toby has received a few patches over the last week and feels a lot more consistent. Decided to give it another go on stream this weekend and share here with how it is turning out.
Thanks for all of the views and kind words, didn't expect so many of you to be excited to have some content back!
Trying to change up some recording methods, hopefully the quality is a bit better as I am no longer pulling the VOD from twitch, but instead have a local file to upload here.

like I said in the last vid. it would be OK if this is not a regular thing…. I’m already grateful for the countless hours of H3 entertainment and easy-to-chill to commentary from you.
BUT… I am admittedly loving these uploads from you. i’m all here to ride the wave as long as it lasts!
IDK if i've played enough for RNG to get frustrating, but I really like where the sosig balance is at right now. I really dig the new encryptions too. They make my brain work quickly, which.... is a challenge.
i got to say tho, this character really makes you feel like john wick fighting the armored guys xD

The second Orthagonal encryption will be replaced with a different encryption we have not yet seen.
And F2W team are discussing how we can suggest reducing the ammo RNG effect.

This afternoon I was watching your previous video on Tournament Toby and I didn't know there was another one. Watching your stuff is like a weird time machine experience for me because I watched it a LOT when I was also playing H3VR myself during a period that I look back on very fondly. I'd see you do something cool in one of your vids and be like "I want to try that" and I always felt like I was channeling my inner jeditobiwan when I was doing well in a take and hold. 😂
Anyway, watching you play H3VR is just super entertaining. It's like watching a master of a craft creating something beautiful right before our eyes, or like watching Neo kick ass in the Matrix movies.

Discovered last night that dragon's breath is a helluva roll in this mode, especially with a lever or pump action. Light and mediums go down to dragon's breath spam so easily.
I saw putter using them, they definitely jumped up the usefulness list with the heavy armor!

You gotta try TNH Tell it's extremely good and the performance is unbelievably good, and there's another map from the same modder coming soon and it's gonna run way better!

I'm enjoying this character, though I do feel it's a bit too RNG dependent due to the armor class of the sosigs.

fixing the discord bot is on my list for this week!
and yeah, the RNG is going to be tough to work out of this character. AP ammo is just too important late game

The Sosig at 10:30 that takes a .50BMG SLAP round *in the head* from 2m... then GETS BACK UP. xD
With the right ammo, that .50 bmg pistol really SLAPs.

Ah yes the mills bomb a heavy rusted chunk of metal that explodes
end game looks so much more enjoyable and hectic. You could always just sit in the open and camp doors if you ever get a good roll smg early on but now they can actually tank slightly more.

Good run that one. I'm getting increasingly annoyed I'm not getting twitch notifications for these until you're done anyways, I wouldnt mind them being infrequent if I knew when they were happening. Not that such is your fault, twitch's notifs have never been great
yeah I've had a ton of people saying the notifs aren't going out - even I stopped getting them. I'll have to see if there is anything on my end I can do, but I'm assuming not. Thanks for taking the time to check it out though, good to hear from you!

it's a good thing that H3 doesn't simulate barrel wear/heat, otherwise I have a bad feeling that that AK's barrel would be GONE (and the rounds would be randomly cooking off by themselves)
Oh yeah, you would need several of the same gun to give them time to cool with how many rounds you need to dump here!
I wonder if grenades will have a score boost, they used to ruin your score

At 10:12, how do you slide the shotgun’s bolt without manually doing it or manually pressing the button on the side?
Up on the main-hand touchpad for me. Up and in on the main hand analog stick, for quest (i think, im not super familiar with the other controllers)
for simplified controls, it's the upper button of whatever controller you're using
Scholfield model 3 is still my favorite revolver ever of all time
Not sure how dangerous it is but i one hand the anti material pistol and in my off hand, I'll hold as many fifties as the game allows. I can easily fire faster than having to grab each time
i found myself having a spare in my off-hand a few times, didn't even think to pull a full stack like that. Should only be dangerous with the explosive rounds
I was doing this with a shorty double barrel shotty. Seems to work perfectly fine. Blasting sosigs one handed with Wells 1864 feels amazing.
@@bongwatercrocodile315 It’s because ammo can go off when hit, 12 gauge doesn’t do much to the player then hit with a bullet and then goes off. Meanwhile, .50bmg explosive….little more of a risk

I wonder if the sosig 'nade launchers are faster to do the shake-reload on then just throwing another grenade?
Joke concept: Add the ability to palm grenades the way you can rounds, and fling two or three grenades at once. I'm sure there's no way that can possibly go wrong.
That would be great but I think it’s supposed to represent how much of an item the average person can hold in one hand maybe, although I’m not sure. Would def love to be able to toss just 3 grenades at once tho
Do you think I could run h3vr on the quest2 with virtual desktop through a gaming laptop?
As long as it has a decent video card and processor and is hard wired into you network, it should work. Will probably see some performance issues fue to thermal throttling, but itll run!

Why don’t you spawnlock the pistols? You can let go to quick switch, and you won’t drop them by accident.
I've always been a no-slinglock player because most of my runs were for content/entertainment and being able to drop weapons accidentally made for more interesting videos. I will need to break that habit for this character though, slinglock will be necessary

i had a lot of fun using it but i still cant last the 5 holds
it is a tough character! and the new nodes aren't very forgiving, really have to make sure you understand that regenerative one and have a weapon to deal with it well

Using anything special to get the desktop view on the back of your wrist? I saw the desktops option and controller docking in SteamVR settings, but it docks to the wrong place.
Im using OVRDrop - but its super old software. OVRtoolkit is a newer version that does the same thing a bit more elegantly. XSoverlay is an option too
