    With flux would be faster and make a more reliable joint. When using hot air to solder or desoldering, adding flux would prevent bubbling the pcb, the time with direct hot air is shorter.
    Applying first low melt solder also helps to remove smd components.
    Flux is not a cosmetic issue to make a solder joint shiny, it really helps the soldering process.

      Not that I don't want to use flux. I show it will be okay without a flux.
