    In this tutorial you'll learn how to make an origami Wolf step by step.
    This model was based on my origami Fox:
    • ORIGAMI FOX (Jo Nakash...
    #origami #wolf #HowlingWolf
    ► DIAGRAMS: jonakashima.com.br/2017/01/22...
    ► DIFFICULTY LEVEL: intermediate (easy to fold, but requires shaping)
    ► PAPER: Grainy 20cm x 20cm
    It requires some shaping to make it look really nice, so I strongly recommend wet-folding for best results. Here are some papers you can use:
    ● Grainy: this is the paper that I used in my tutorial. As the name suggests, it has a grainy texture. It’s very good for wet-folding and will keep the shape very well.

    ● Elephant Hide: also perfect for wet-folding. One of my favorite types of paper.

      Wait..... you cant fold diagonal lines across the paper?????

  • @seven9766
    @seven9766 4 года назад +6

    Hm. This actually looks really easy. Then again, i have made more complex origami in the past. To everyone who is new to origami, remember these things: It has been done, it can be done. So there is not much stopping you.
    If at first you don't succed, take a break, look at it really hard, try to figure out what that step SHOULD do, and try again.
    If you are a beginner, expect to fail 3 times before you get a good one.
    Some of these folding techniques (such as at 08:11 for example) may look intimidating if you have never done such a fold. But if you have done it before, it becomes a piece of cake and an exercise in precision. With time you will start to learn what sinks, swivels, rabbit ears, reverse folds, outside reverse folds are, and what to look for when doing them. Then you will look at this and go, yeah right i can do this for you, gimme 5 mins...
    Maybe 10 if you want to do it well, don't get discouraged...

  • @kurtphair1446
    @kurtphair1446 4 года назад +21

    I did it! Took about 40 mins I think but it looks really nice actually! I did it with a 15 x 15 cm paper (6x6 for Americans) and would reccomend a larger size as some of the late shaping could only be done with minimal detail since there just wasn't much paper. Thx for the tutorial Jo!

    very cool design, super simple folds and easy to follow with good video + diagram instructions. The shaping towards the end is a bit of a struggle to do well, and I think having original origami paper would help (as the thickness holds the shaping better) but I was happy with my model. Managed to just barely follow along at 1x speed!

    Amazing again. This is my second piece from yours - the dragon being my first one. As others have said - I almost fainted when I got to 8:11! I finally got through it though... the valley(?) fold on that one was just difficult to conceptualize.
    Videos are definitely useful for seeing you follow through it. Also rounding off the wolf back, legs, and head was surprisingly difficult for me. The paper didn’t want to bend the right way...
    Really love it though! I am considering doing something for some co-workers in anticipation of Game of Thrones season 8! Wolves and Dragons...

    • @chavezbg86
      @chavezbg86 5 лет назад

      One more thing - the thing I’m loving most about your videos is that it is really making me step outside my comfort zone with folding.
      It’s one thing to make an origami piece with nice straight lines and sharp corners.. something else completely when you add the small details to make that much more “realistic”.

    • @dhaisaugraam
      @dhaisaugraam 2 года назад

      @@chavezbg86 The paper that I was using didn't bend in a curve too. It just tore off. Unless we use the same paper Jo does, it won't bend in that elegant manner.

    JUST finished my wolf. I'm not proud of it but it turned out amazingly cute. Thanks for this great tutorial! I wish I could do the final semi-fold things the way you do one day. T_T

    what is the process for actually designing and creating origami?

    • @solomonbascon6381
      @solomonbascon6381 7 лет назад +17

      Hannah Sealer imagination and application

    • @uwuowo7493

      yep.I made a dragon and a star wars thing you only need some imagination and memory

    • @ranchyeezys5735
      @ranchyeezys5735 6 лет назад +6

      Solomon Bascon nope. Math. A shit ton of math. And not a shit ton of 1+1. A shit ton of math and complex geometry

    • @ranchyeezys5735
      @ranchyeezys5735 6 лет назад +2

      Solomon Bascon the imagination part comes in when you have the base comoleted and you need to detail it. But the rest is math and frustration.

    There are a lot of soft folds in this design. Takes a lot more finesse and patience, but so worth it. I'm going to make one of these for my best friend, she loves wolves.

      You need special wet origami paper with has fibres activated when wet to help sculpt the paper in place- it’s a lot thicker than original origami paper

    Beautiful piece - congratulations, and thanks a lot for sharing.
    Hint: to prevent the rear legs from spreading, you can twist the lower outer corners; and to prevent the whole piece from spreading, you can twist the lower corner in the internal "spine."
