Never ever say the British drive on the wrong side of the road ,it really gets our backs up .we have been walking, riding ,and driving, on the lefthand side for well over a thousand years . 😊
It's not the wrong side of the road, suggests you are going to drive on the right hand side by accident, it's a different side of the road to what your're used to. Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Cyprus, Hong Kong, India, Pakistan etc. (30% of the countries) drive on the left.
Great videos guys... it's good to see an Americans point of view of my home. Just a fact for you, that you may already know, but the Cornish Pasty was originally designed for miners who would work all day and get covered in black coal dust. They would hold the pasty by the thick crust, eat the middle and throw away the 'handle'. Also, maybe not fully true, but I heard they also filled one side with meat and the other side with stewed fruits so you had both main and dessert in one easy meal. Looking forward to next video. Great to see Bath in its glory. I was born in Bath in the late 50's. As residents we were allowed to swim in the Great Bath once a year until some unfortunate young girl contracted meningitis in the 70's and died. After that no one was allowed to swim in the Great Bath. Having lived for many years just below St Stephen's Church on Lansdown, I can attest to the Hare and Hounds being a great place to eat and drink. Great to see this video.

Cornish pasties were originally made by wives who's husbands worked in the mines. The thick pastry edge is designed so they can be eaten with dirty hands and keep the pie clean 😊

Lovely film. My home town of Bath looked perfect. One detail, Sally Lunn buns are not Bath buns. Bath buns are enriched dough buns with a lump of sugar inside, syrup glasses with dried fruit and sugar on top. Best eaten buttered. Sally Lunn’s are a brioche bun best eaten toasted with butter or cinnamon butter.

At most European airports and train stations you can hire porters for your luggage. Book ahead and they’ll meet you at baggage claim/the train and they’ll make sure your luggage gets to where it needs to go. In Venice they’ll get your luggage from the airport or train station to your hotel.
Edinburgh also has fantastic Georgian architecture comparable to Bath, set and laid out in roads/Crescents/Squares/Circus, this in Edinburgh New Town developed from the 1700s, don’t just visit the old town, very nice but can be a tourist trap, Edinburgh can be hilly.
You should watch the Michael Caine film "The Wrong Box", it was filmed in Bath, including the at Royal Cresent, it's a good film, lots of other famous people are in it. The whole movie is on youtube.
We hired a Morgan and toured the Malvern Hills, Bath, and the Cotswolds. Reccomend it to anyone though I reccomend a hat with ear flaps or earmuffs. We had no rain so never had to put the roof up.
The US used to drive on the left when the first motor cars were made, but Henry Ford decided to put the steering wheel on the left of the car and advocated that they should drive on the right, There is a video about it on RUclips.
This is a great question! Probably the same reason we invented our measurement system. There is a great SNL skit that pokes at our measurement system and how we should have kept the metric system. I am sure the same thinking went into what side of the road to drive.

We will definitely hit it next time! We experienced many cathedrals on our trip. We have a growing list of things we want to experience with our next visit.

Double decker buses are used all over the UK. NEVER tell us that we drive on the WRONG side of the road !!

A tip for visitors accessing the Internet when abroad, as seen in this video, train wifi can be slow or unreliable, set up an international roaming flat-rate calling plan with your provider, inclusive of minutes /texts/data, then you can switch to a network and not worry about charges.

At no part of the year would you need air conditioning in the UK opening a window would suffice even in mid-summer.

You don't have to be religious to appreciate the architecture of Bath Cathedral it's a shame that you didn't venture inside.
