Where We're Headed: What's Planned for This Year & Next
We hired a Morgan and toured the Malvern Hills, Bath, and the Cotswolds. Reccomend it to anyone though I reccomend a hat with ear flaps or earmuffs. We had no rain so never had to put the roof up.
Good to hear someone highlight the quality of British food rather than the stereotypical comment that all British food is bad. ❤
Oh yes, if anyone complains, they’ve been eating at the wrong venues… because British food is 👌👌!
That is Tower Bridge this is London Bridge what a very smart young little lady if only the vast majority of adults realised the difference between the two
HAHA. She is smart.
What a delightful Family, welcome to London. We love American visitors, our long lost cousins. Listen ! Many a Londoner myself included will secretly admit that they also love to see the city from the top deck of a bus. Also a great alternative of the tube and on the red buses all you need is your Oyster card. Have a fantastic trip !
Thanks! We love to hear when people love their own city and look to experience it too. Appreciate you taking time to watch and interact!
Love the creative costumes. Looks like it was a great family time!
Haha - yes! Such a fun time. Good motivation to dress up and be crazy!
Most enjoyable...
@@geofffd1 Thank you!
How did you find your visit to the motherland was it all you expected I hope your family and yourself had a splendid time
Thank you so much! It was the best time and we miss it so much!
@@palmsandpalaces I am so pleased you enjoyed yourselves the UK is truly a beautiful place may I ask when the next video will be available
I’ve never seen them on the nozzle or that design, usually kept adjacent, essential for filling with diesel.
yeh STP is awesome
Wait...what's STP?
Woooooooooow nice
❤️❤️
@@palmsandpalaces I have been following you for a few days. Your video content quality is very good. But I noticed that, due to video optimization problems, the videos are not getting more views and subscribers. You need to fix it. Best wishes
But you are glad to be in the land of McDonald’s & Burger King ?Just joking folks so pleased you enjoyed our “little” country.
We genuinely love England. The metropolis that is London showed us silly tourist stuff and so many off the beaten path treasures. No MCD or BK for us thank you very much!! Thanks for watching!!
Fun and informative video. Where did you stay in London? What filter did you use for your photos?
Thank you! We stayed in corporate housing in the Maida Vale area. No filter on photos, just some color brightening. :)
We drive on the left hand side, again a history lesson.... Knights would hold their sword/joust in the right hand and have the horse move on the left side when fighting.... 🙂
I said "wrong side" in jest - noted for next time. LOL! And very cool - Oliver will appreciate this fact!
Great videos guys... it's good to see an Americans point of view of my home. Just a fact for you, that you may already know, but the Cornish Pasty was originally designed for miners who would work all day and get covered in black coal dust. They would hold the pasty by the thick crust, eat the middle and throw away the 'handle'. Also, maybe not fully true, but I heard they also filled one side with meat and the other side with stewed fruits so you had both main and dessert in one easy meal. Looking forward to next video. (edit - just saw in a comment that you have already been told this!! )
No problem! I recently shared this fact with Scott because it's one of my faves. So glad to have such knowledgable friends here!! I appreciate you all!
It's just too busy now, thirty years ago it wasn't like this and I find it a shame how the native population has been driven out. It used to be an English city and now it's just a generic globalist one :/ Sadly that is happening all over the UK, everything is being turned from working towns to theme parks and like Venice it's just a place for the rich to have second homes and B&Bs. Makes me worried for the future of the world because eventually everything will be the same and different cultures will be gone. All this has happened only since airliners in the 60s and for the working classes since the 80s. Only the last twenty years have we seen mass tourism from places like China..... What will happen with the working classes in China and Indian gain capital? Gonna be another couple billion making everything even more crowded.
Thank you for sharing. We found the city to certainly be busy and definitely a melting pot of cultures. The history of the city and the personality of the different neighborhoods was still charming to us.
Thank you great film.
Thanks, Alison! More to come!
Wi-Fi is available at: * All Tube stations * Most London Overground stations * All Elizabeth line stations under central London * Victoria Coach Station Your devices will automatically pick up the Wi-Fi signal when you're in a Wi-Fi enabled station. There's no signal in tunnels, but your phone will connect to the signal at the next Wi-Fi enabled platform so you can pick up where you left off.
Love the facts you give! Thank you - we will need to do a follow up to our initial lessons with more tips!
TfL have a map on their site that shows 4G & 5G coverage. Customers now have 4G and 5G mobile coverage in stations and tunnels on sections of the Jubilee, Central, Piccadilly, Victoria and Northern lines and 4G in all Elizabeth line stations.
Thanks! We are definitely living in an ever so connected world to say the least.
I really enjoyed this very well done
@@kenharte6553 Thank you! We appreciate you. More to come! And feel free to join us at our Facebook community.
Seagulls are not purely coastal birds here. I live newr Oxford and we have gulls here
True - I typically associate them with the coast, as the two coastal cities in which I've resided had gulls along the water.
Wonderful Video guys, Bath is a total Gem and not to be missed ✌✌
Agreed!! Thanks for watching and more to come!
Why is it that kids with missing teeth look cute, whereas, me at 60, looks like a vagabond :)
Haha. I doubt it. 😉😂 But yes, they can pull off the Jack-o-Lantern look quite well!
Yes some nice food choices, the eggs looked good, always interesting to hear language differences, we would say those yolks are golden rather than orange, also Americans have orange cats we have ginger cats, and our traffic lights have an amber light not orange, but we do have blood orange soft drinks (Sanpellegrino)
This is a good reminder to "spice" up our vocabulary. Haha! However, I must say that even though we're back in the States, the kids have adopted some British slang and pronunciations. We often pass a sign that says "Cunningham" (we Americans pronounce it Cunning-HAM), but they now say "Cunning-um" every time we drive by!
It’s so nice to see visitors enjoying just how beautiful Britain is. Your family is adorable, which is so great to see.
Thank you so much!
Cornish pasties were originally made by wives who's husbands worked in the mines. The thick pastry edge is designed so they can be eaten with dirty hands and keep the pie clean 😊
Really!? Love that fact!
There really is something so special about the UK, glad you and your family had a good trip and enjoyed.
Thank you. It really is so so special.
I am 73 now and live 50 miles from London. I have been countless times and have certainly seen a massive transformation of London over the years.
I’m sure! Thanks for following along.
Tip for charging electronic devices, bring a Power Bank, access to charging points might be limited or not working.
Great tip!
A tip for visitors accessing the Internet when abroad, as seen in this video, train wifi can be slow or unreliable, set up an international roaming flat-rate calling plan with your provider, inclusive of minutes /texts/data, then you can switch to a network and not worry about charges.
Thank you for sharing!
Edinburgh also has fantastic Georgian architecture comparable to Bath, set and laid out in roads/Crescents/Squares/Circus, this in Edinburgh New Town developed from the 1700s, don’t just visit the old town, very nice but can be a tourist trap, Edinburgh can be hilly.
Edinburgh is on our list! Hoping 2025 is the year. 🤞
delightful
Thank you!
Remember Americans, if you'd of only payed your taxes to the King, all this history could of been yours!!😂
I live not far from Bath, it's a beautiful place. Glad you enjoyed your trip 👍
Thank you!
Why do Americans say the name of a town/city and then ENGLAND (or any other country they happen to be in). Just say the name of the town/city. We wouldn't say NEW YORK...AMERICA ! Pret a Manger is pronounced MONJAY ( as in French " to eat" ). Did you know that there were toilets on the train ? AIR B AND B and THE IVY !! Must have plenty of money !!?? Avon is pronounced AVUN. Croissant is pronounced KWA SON. We call them pigs in blankets not pigs in A blanket. I'm surprised to see them on a Sunday roast as they are usually eaten with our Christmas dinner. Double decker buses are used all over the UK. NEVER tell us that we drive on the WRONG side of the road !!
Thanks for your response! As for why we included England, for SEO strategy purposes and non-locals who won’t know where Bath is - we didn’t do this as much in our London vlogs where the country is obvious. As for the corrections - thank you! I certainly learned something new!
This is your third (negative) comment on the video. Why don't you go and take a ...lie-down.
Surprised you didn't visit Bath Abbey. Edgar, the first "King of all England" was crowned in the old Anglo-Saxon abbey by St Dunstan, the Archbishop of Canterbury and St Oswald, the Archbishop of York in the year 973
That’s fascinating! Thanks for sharing! We had limited time and decided to visit the York Minster in our next stop.
1st King of all England was Aethelstan, 927ad
Loving your videos ❤

Wow what a lovely family you are and what a great video...its all in the planning I guess, loved it❤
Thank you! Have an amazing day!
110% love this. Thank you, thank you. I live 11 miles away in Bristol, and vist Bath often, for over 60 years. Sincere best wishes to you and your family. Thank you again.

@@palmsandpalaces If you visit the UK again, and decide to visit Bristol, please let me know. I would be delighted to be your guide to the Clifton Suspension Bridge, the SS Great Britain, and the "Old City" of Bristol. Restaurants (incl The Ivy in Clifton) and pubs (the "White Lion" and the "Llandoger Trow"), the oldest theatre in England, and the spot where John Cabot set sail to discover North America... Again, GREAT videos of Bath and Windsor.
I'm a Londoner, over 60 years of age. I love watching video's of London from a tourist's viewpoint. They often give me a different, or new, perspective on my home town. Your observations and insight, accompanied with humour, plus including your young children's opinions; is wonderful.
Thank you so much for being here! I am glad you are enjoying it.
Iv traveled all over Europe...France .Spain Greece.. Italy...but theres something about England...that Trump's them all ....
It is such a special place. I know there’s more of the world to explore, but we really want to return soon. 🩵
@@palmsandpalaces yes you must ...there's places in Wales and Scotland...that will charge everything.....I haven't felt that about anywher. Else in Europe.....can't wait for your next upload x x
The red plume in your bearskin means your a Coldstream guard.
Interesting! Just looked this up. Thanks!
And people still slate British Cuisine! Blame that on War Rationing; i think you found out how good it really is these days 🙂
There is nothing like the food in the UK!
Been to Bath many times (including this year) but I still forget how beautiful it is and amazing when you see it for the first time.
Great video, great family, wonderful polite kids. I used to fish the river Avon when i was a kid living in Tewkesbury 🤘👍..
Thank you very much. And how incredible! It's beautiful.
@@palmsandpalaces Absolutely, there was a war of the roses battle in Tewkesbury in 1471, it has a massive 11th century Abbey that William the conqueror gifted to one of his sons, well worth a visit, a beautiful medieval town..
Really well put together video. Nice to watch your travels in England. Hope you enjoyed the experience looks like you did. Hope to see more episodes. 👍🇬🇧
Thank you very much. Appreciate you being here. Working on the next one!! PS. Would love to connect with you all on our Facebook page!
Nice video.

At no part of the year would you need air conditioning in the UK opening a window would suffice even in mid-summer.
@@ango677 I’m torn between “disagree entirely” and “said no one who lived with n the south east in 30C daytine and 20C nighttime when we’re struggling under a sheet only and hoping it will get cooler… “ I pray for AC… on holiday, in the office, at home etc between July and September (and that’s excepting the heating coming on between November and March!)…. Let’s face it, our cars are temperature regulated better than our homes!
Brits really do know how to make amazing puddings.
Indeed!
Great to see Bath in its glory. I was born in Bath in the late 50's. As residents we were allowed to swim in the Great Bath once a year until some unfortunate young girl contracted meningitis in the 70's and died. After that no one was allowed to swim in the Great Bath. Having lived for many years just below St Stephen's Church on Lansdown, I can attest to the Hare and Hounds being a great place to eat and drink. Great to see this video.
Your story is sad yet amazing! You live somewhere special for sure. Its hard to not want to come back in lieu of going somewhere new!
At most European airports and train stations you can hire porters for your luggage. Book ahead and they’ll meet you at baggage claim/the train and they’ll make sure your luggage gets to where it needs to go. In Venice they’ll get your luggage from the airport or train station to your hotel.
I had no idea! Appreciate you sharing.
