This is pure gold. Im in stiches at times listening to you talk. Sooooo funny. Switch to long ball counter, stop pressing, just keep pressing L1 in between players to intercept ball. Lastly try and time shoulder charge (square button). I think you are getting better as time goes on. Nothing wrong dropping to top player. Cant wait for the next one. Cheers
Long Ball Counter is what you used when you streamed a few months ago, and still it's the most efficient playing style nowadays. Also, consider normal shooting, you missed the goal enough times already...
Best defense is the combination of pressing with X while timing your movement direction while holding L2 for match up. 70-80% always works. Also it's better to change player while defending using the right thumbstick. the L1 player change logic seems off lately. Might be hard to adapt at first.
Ricky I've learnt one trick. Whenever you feel a momentum shift, switch on to defensive mode. And let the Ai work, though that means paying more attention to your defense and being patient. You don't press with your defenders in this game else they'll cheat😂😂 Unless when you are sure you'll win the ball. Pay attention to the tricky feets. Eg wingers like Salah are nimble so just let them play with themselves and then win it. When you are a goal up you can even put on ultra defensive because they will pressure you until the last min.

I think you should switch to playing Long ball counter, it will help your defense fall deeper when you lose the ball, the players also defend better but the quality of attacks remains unchanged, sorry for a some spelling mistakes but I don't speak much English
If you'll feel better, i know your pain. First time i play efootball i was awful in defending. Control and everything about that was wtf for me. I didn't play efootball since then xD. I know i would be awful in defending (even on normal difficulty) so i dont play game. Im saving some nerves 😅

If the player is running towards you hold match up and move backwards or just leave it until you suspect a pass so then you double tap your match up button. Then press when you running with the opponent and be wary with how you use your left stick
Watch how spoony plays! He is in top of the table. If your players underperform, you gotta change the formation in game, not after the game. Why are you not changing formations when you’re losing? Saka is a left stick dribbling merchant. Boost him! Boost his dribbling to 90. Improve the finishing attributes.

Absolutely. A lot of people bash the game because they can't defend. To defend you need a mix of match up and press. I use press and extra man when I'm in the opposition area and match up when defending in and around my 18. Patience is key.
You can spam in Pes, through ball spam, one touch pass spam, curl spam, dribble spam, etc. In efootball 24, there is no chance for that. Coz there is Match Up.
Keep it up, Ricky! You've even inspired me to play this again. You're losing but most of the time it's because the AI is really good and particularly fast! Maybe slow down the game? Or isn't that an option? I will let you know how good I am... I'm definitely not that good either.

The problem with defending is L2 (matchup) is automated and almost useless as even the shielding is hilarious pointless, the best way to defend is too manually chase the player and do a standing tackle

They make the CPU players have more ability than the players we use, I know by watching the AI vs AI match, the CPU has better ball control than my team

just change the manual pass to level 2 or any higher level than 2 it will be less scripted but need more skillfull to press the pass button i'm stick in level 2 because i'm not too skillfull in manual passes
I told you in my league is the script that works ,they decide when you draw ,when you win and when you lose doesn't matter the level even at superstar, it's so frustrating really to play but is funny watching you go through it too😂😂 sorry but konami is driving me insane i prefer konami over fifa but now i wanna just quit completely and look somewhere else

Dont hold matchup and press together because then the press will override the matchup and your players will blindly press

try playing a 4-1-2-3, three attackers and two CAMs, and one CDM, it would help you defend more and attack too

You need to play more centrally the wings are useless unless you're crossing the ball. look for a formation with two strikers up top
