    Mr Dukic, your playing lets us listen to your life story--the passions, the loneliness, the ups and downs, the love and promise; above all, your honesty now in telling it all. (Thank you SICCAS, for recognizing and preserving true art, regardless of its origins and forms.)

    Mostly wonderful concert performed by an incredible virtuoso. How did he get the outright crazy idea, that a first half of Bach and Piazzolla pieces should be performed none stop like that? The even more crazy part is, that it works! I love Bach and Piazzolla with equal measure, by the way: Bach is the greatest composer of all times, hugely influential in church music anyway, but also most likely the most transcribed composer of all times. Several composers have made a living on transcribing his works to more modern instruments, not least Busoni. Less well-known it is, that Franz Liszt were a great fan of JS Bach and actually composed a huge series of pipe organ pieces in the style of Bach and dedicated those to his great idol. Piazzolla people for sure know as the man, who made the tango modern and popular all over the world, and I have got to know and treasure his music from my interest in accordion music. He were also a very unusual composer, because his chosen instrument were the bandoneon, a very simple and easy to carry accordion style instrument, which were very popular in Argentinian folklore. Needless to say, no accordionist today can avoid to have at least some Piazzolla pieces on their repertoire.
    I do not care for Stephen Goss one little bit. The crazy thing is, he claims his music is inspired by all the great classics, as Bach and Stravinsky. I think he should rename this suit to Cinema Hell. I do not actually understand, why many great musicians are attracted to such unmelodious and hard to listen to music with no beauty at all. I am also fond of jazz, and at Copenhagen Jazz Festival a couple of years ago I had experience with fusion jazz, which reminds me of this. The little audience at the concert really sat as on needles and were just waiting for the suffering to end, but as polite as Danes are generally, we all clapped at the end of the concert, before we got up and left! Which were a mistake, because the musicians, who clearly were not used to ANY applause at all, took that as a call for an encore and the suffering continued for yet another 15 minutes! When that ended, we of course still clapped, polite as we still were, but this time in the same time running for the door, and even though I am a man in good shape, the three elderly couple that were there with me, all reached the door before me! At least the escape from that concert were comical.
    Miroslav Tadic is a great guitar virtuoso and composer all on his own, and his music is wonderful, beautiful and melodious, a mix of classical guitar music and Slavic folklore. He is Serbian. Siccas Guitars for sure should bring him in for a concert too. I got to know him from Guitar Saloon International, the California based rival to Siccas, where he already has done concerts, but he is Serbian and often do concerts in central Europe, so he should be on your list, if he is not already.

    It is so rare for me to dislike a Siccas video. The reason I do this time is because I’m so tired of the obligatory bow to mostly ugly modern music. It lacks melody, discernible pattern, and most of all, it lacks beauty. All one has to do is compare crowd sizes at music venues. Let that speak for itself.

    • @christopherstanford5599
      @christopherstanford5599 Год назад +2

      Even classical pieces started out as modern in their own day 🤣

    • @niceguitar6144
      @niceguitar6144 Год назад +2

      @@christopherstanford5599 right, every piece was modern at one point but Bach music was always beautiful. The problem is not that the pieces are modern, the problem is that they lack beauty. Do you often miss the obvious point?

      @1corinthians15.1-4kjv Год назад

      You are a hard man, but honest and not wrong, in my opinion. Though, the modern unmelodious music, that you and I both dislike so much, is only one third of this concert. Miroslav Tadic is a great Serbian composer and guitar virtuoso, who you probably would know from GSI, and his music is melodious and a mix of Slavic folklore and classical music, so just to my taste really. The first half of the concert were Bach and Piazzola, which I absolutely both love. Stephen Goss, that should be titled Cinema Hell in my book though.
