I just love this whole set up you have. Showing the game on the board, you playing the actual game and then commentating on it. I wish all the chess vids were like this. Maybe its been done before but Im new to this format.. brilliant work.
@DrGenius73 Yes you are absolutely right! As is noted by Wikipedia: "Apart from World Champion, Grandmaster is the highest title a chess player can attain." Thanks for the clarification.
@Utforskaren Thanks for your question! After 23. Bxf7, in the case of 23. ... exd4 follows 24.Rh3 Bh6 25.Bxg8 Rxg8 26.Qh4 Rg7 27.Qxh6 Qxc2 28.Rg3 Rf7 29.Qf4 Ne5 30.Nxd4 and White is much better
@2freet Alexander Grischuk and I are friends, we studied in the same university, and started playing chess practically at the same time. I've played dozens of games with him. In this game, he was not happy about the way he made a mistake at the end, so it's normal he reacted this way.
@ulujm GM and IGM ( = GMI) are the same, it's the highest chess title available in chess, (International) Grandmaster. Next comes International Master (lower title), and FIDE Master (lower still).
@LNAdrien At top level you see both 1. e4 and 1. d4. One definitely cannot say that the Sicilian is overly analyzed, there is plenty of potential in most chess openings! Remember that the goal of the opening is to get to a playable middle game. People mostly choose openings to go well with their style of play. 1. e4 is more aggressive than 1. d4 which is more solid, and both are great first moves!
I believe Karpov once said that one can learn the most out of defeats,it will be a nice turn to see some of yours, and i am sure that there will be some educating material over there! Cheers and congrats on your victories with top GMs.
Thank you for all this games, but i was wondering if the moves 19. Ne2 Qxa2 20. Nd4 21.Nc4 Qf4 are correct.. i wil order ur book and Dvd when i have the money for it. Thanks!
@Rinehart9 Glad you find my game funny :-) It is a GM game, as are most of the games I comment on my channel. At the Moscow chess blitz world championship only Grandmasters (GM's) were invited to play.
I would like to hear your ideas about these openings. I know they're popular, but it would be nice if you could explain them a little in your videos. Thank you.
It's unavoidable checkmate: only next move 24...Rxg8 then 25. Rxg8 mate. Grandmasters rarely go to being actually checkmated and resign before. A couple exceptions are "anatomy of checkmate", also on this channel, when checkmate came as extreme surprise to Wang Hao, and my game with Morozevich, at high speed and with an extremely unusual checkmate.
It looks like you had a won game anyway, but it's interesting how Grischuk didn't see that mate in 2. I guess we're all human, and we all make mistakes...especially in blitz! Notice how black's Queen stayed in that corner away from the action for the whole game. It makes me wonder if the going for the b2 pawn is really the best plan. I guess I'll have to do some research on that variation!
How could a Super-GM like Grishuk leave a pawn on f7 to hang like that? Strange. But maybe he did not have much time to think.. Great game Chessqueen, thx for posting
Hello, Grandmaster Kosteniuk. I was wondering why at your level (grandmasters, top professionals) ,except in blitz games, people do not open with e4. Is it because the sicilian is overly analyzed and has proved totally equal? Does it mean that d4 gives white a little advantage, as everyone plays d4 at top level? Thanks.
Alexander looked pretty hung over with the water and how tired he looked even at his level it's good to see even GM's make mistakes regardless good game for both of u
So many high rated players are so cold with the hand shake... not making eye contact or even looking away (like in this vid!). So sad :-(... I would make eye contact with you and shake your hand for 10 minutes straight, because you are THE CHESS QUEEN YOOoOooOoOOUUU~! Thanks for vids.
way to go alexandra that was very nice game i liked u mad atack on king side!!but between usi got a feeling Grischuk maybe feeling alitlle strage coz maybe he had a beautyful chess player woman as opponent! i hope to post new games soon greetings!
well Grischuk won the 2012 blitz championship so this and your blitz victory over Carlsen show what a great and quick thinking mind you have for chess....beautifully said and played....
@ChessQueen and its probably the way chess competition goes. In one of your other clips you played againt Irina Krush and when she shook hands with youprior to the game she gave you a friendly look that you never returned. Maybe i should try that in my next competition LOL
I don´t understand how a GM can make a mistake like that, I mean, put my queen out of the game on b7 just for a pawn and put mymself in a bad strategically position. The second mistake is just funny!!! I love you Alexandra, You are a very strong player and you have the opportunity to demostrate that women can be better than men. Congratulations!!! Sincerely yours, Israel your admirer.
@Mudd0000 in a blitz game anything can happen. Thats why i dont like blitz, although Alexandra you are good at that. It seems that you control well your nerves under pressure.
Wow you are not only the most beautiful chess player in the world , but also one of the most beautiful women Ive ever seen. Regarding your game, it is needless to say that you are absolutely amazing. Maybe some day I have the opportunity to meet you and ask you to marry me Kosteniuk.
I just love this whole set up you have. Showing the game on the board, you playing the actual game and then commentating on it. I wish all the chess vids were like this. Maybe its been done before but Im new to this format.. brilliant work.
Glad to see you're still sharing your videos with us :) Love from Australia

@Fupper16 It's a question of style. 1. e4 is more aggressive, but I also play 1. d4 on occasion. Both are great first moves!
oh yes I know ,It was great I was reffering to the final you were so shocked at the move. I enjoy your videos by the way. make some more
@ulujm GM and IGM ( = GMI) are the same, it's the highest chess title available in chess, (International) Grandmaster. Next comes International Master (lower title), and FIDE Master (lower still).
no eye contact from either one of you during the handshake, I guess that is normal it just struck me as interesting :-) great video
@expat74 i know! I wish they would broadcast chess on televison like this. :D

@ChessQueen Isn't World Champion the highest chess title? ;-)
Good video!
Robo Grischuk from the candidate matches seems to be a human after al. Congratulations with your win against one of the best players around.
It looks like you had a won game anyway, but it's interesting how Grischuk didn't see that mate in 2. I guess we're all human, and we all make mistakes...especially in blitz! @ChessQueen Ok I can understand that. Thank you for your answer!
@murph2987 I always try to double check, triple check before playing a move. In this case against Grischuk, I was very surprised, to say the least :-)
strange how you don't look each other in the eyes in the end. he even looks away.. but this is how it goes all the time right?
Alexander looked pretty hung over with the water and how tired he looked even at his level it's good to see even GM's make mistakes regardless good game for both of u

Grischuk takes up the 'Greasy Hair" tradition from Karpov !
Wow, Even I saw that, I'm surprised someone so strong can blunder like that
I am glad you won. Even though my favorite female player is GM Natalia Zhukova (GM Grischuk's wife :)
@Mudd0000 in a blitz game anything can happen. Thats why i dont like blitz, although Alexandra you are good at that. It seems that you control well your nerves under pressure.
