Ordered one...never got a purchase confirmation nor heard back from email I sent them..nor a shipping acknowledgement...😢
It just goes to show how much the battery contributes to the price of these devices - 1/3 is the box with inverter, charger, solar mppt and fusing, box etc. the other 2/3 is the battery.
Excellent and thorough review as usual Brad.
I couldn't see if they have an option for Australian 3pin socket. They do support 230V AC at least.
Yes, battery is a big part of the cost. But it's also been great watching the cost of cells/batteries come down over the years. I really think it'll be common (and affordable) for most people to have batteries, and solar at home in the near future.
@@BradCagle I don't think its as bad in the states but the DIY for electrical is severely frowned upon here and the industry knows it and exploits it to the full. It has slowed uptake of batteries a lot because the early adopters are usually enthusiasts that know their way around mains and AC and if they can't do it, then it just doesn't happen...
I have both Licitti boxes and like the Pro version better.
I modified the 280ah battery kit from Licitti and it fits perfect in the Pro box.
Just swap the terminal posts so both are pointing up and Bob's your uncle.
Too bad there's no 2000 watt inverter option for this box.
Had to have new version and ordered it.
Thanks for sharing 👍
Cute dog in the pool.
Cheers
Thanks, that's my best little buddy, and he loves the pool :) Except he likes to constantly track dirt into the pool, which makes cleaning it a nightmare haha.
@BradCagle Got mine today and at 13.3 v and out was only 111v.
I see yours is at 122v
Your thoughts?
@stedyone1090
How long to hear from them after you ordered it?
It's a great-looking battery box. I'll check out their website, Thanks!
Hey, could you put a link to the battery you used in this video? I'll check them out, too. 👍
That's actually kind of neat, Brad. Just add battery. I like it!
Thanks Nate :)
Yes. Wow so simple
Good review Brad, I just acquired an extra 12v 100AH LrFePO4 battery and wil fit nicely in this enclosure.
Hello Brad . Just got my Pro box in today . I have had the original box for several months , but difficult to use with the 2 batteries that I have .
One is a Redodo Lite , it is a 12v 100amph battery that is smaller than the regular 100amph batteries , but taller . The lid with the original box wouldn't close , battery to tall .
The other battery is a 280amph DIY Licitti battery . It will not fit down into the original battery box .
I haven't tried the 280 yet , but other videos show that it will fit .
No one would answer the question , will the Lite style batteries fit into the Pro box .
I tried it , it does bolt down with the cable end protectors , strap down strap , and turn on and operate .
Now to hook up a solar panel charger with a 300 watt solar panel , hopefully it won't fry anything ? ? ?
This was a good video...but tht dog in the pool was the best part. They live their best life...LOL
Oh man, he absolutely does :). He gets in that pool all hours of the day LOL. If you want to find true happiness, all you need to do is observe your dog and they will teach you the way.
Does the inverter need to be on when using the proximity charger for your phone? Does the on off switch shut down the battery entirely or can you still plug into the Anderson connectors or USB plug ins?
I don't have a way to test the wireless charger. The main (red) shut off switch disconnects the battery entirely.
Did the usb work ok? Do they work without the inverter on? Can the two of them team up for a 15a 110v circuit like small generators do?
The USB do work without the inverter being on. No you cannot parallel two units to increase AC output.
If you want more output they have a 2000 watt one for about double the price.
@@mgkleym Indeed, I've tested that one too. Thanks
How long does it take to receive the box?
I was really hoping you'd go into more detail on the MPPT solar charge controller specs, since that was the major limitation with the first generation product. Licitti sells this DIY battery box with 280ah cells, which means over 3,500wh worth of capacity. If this SCC is still limited to 200 watts, you would need close to 20 hours of good solar conditions to charge up that larger capacity battery. I know you can always by-pass the on-board SCC, but I still don't understand why they're putting such a small controller in this unit.
It's the same 10A MPPT controller that's in the original box. The challenge is size, and this being 12v. The pre-built units on the market are using a higher voltage battery system which allows them to get the higher wattage PV input, and stay in a smaller footprint. But yeah, I totally agree, I would love to see better solar capability built in to these. I've actually considered trying to mod something in. Thanks
@@BradCagle - I mean, there's a 50-amp Anderson style connector, so all you'd have to do is reroute that through a fuse and then to the battery, by-passing the undersized MPPT they include. Have your own, more appropriately sized controller outside of that box.
@@jasonbroom7147 Right you can do that, or just plug the external MPPT into the other Anderson connector. Maybe a PWM would work better in this. I have small PWM's that are 30A.
@@BradCagledidn't you do a video on using a larger mppt controller on the original box

Thanks for the review, but I don't think it's worth the additional dollars for the extra bells and whistles. I've been using the original battery box for about three months now. The 1000 w inverter and MPPT controller are the same. I only use it for charging my laptop and phones and as backup for my Bluetti 180 and Jackery 1500. One final note, the unit that Licitti sent me does have the 120v outlet, but at only 50 HZ and not 60, so I've been careful not to use it with any equipment with an inductive motor. Although I did use it with my portable tire compressor which work well.
Thanks for the feedback :)
Hi brad. How can i connect with bluetooth. If i start the app my screen are empty (iphone+ Android). I am using the right app from the licitti website.
I'm pretty sure this Licitti box does not have bluetooth. The battery I'm using in the video has the bluetooth functionality.
Great item to have around and a great price .
Great when you have multiple 12v/100ah batts laying around.
How competitive is this with a bluetti type of device?
Thinking about going with this setup as a backup in case of a hurricane here in Houston what panels would you recommend to go with this box and battery?
Would love to see you drop the 280 ah Licitti DIY battery in this box.
Can you charge it from your car while driving?
Very cool if I use a 200 watt panel from Perron?
Got mine today.
Dissapointed my voltage is only 111v
I see yours without a load is 122v
It is only 111v? that's bad.
Cool, I like this😁✌️
I have a 15 amp Victron charger. As the box closes with screws rather than clips, could I charge the battery through the 12v outlet or do I need to rig something up using the Anderson connectors? Thank you.
Those cigarette lighter outlets can get pretty warm over 10a, I would opt for the Anderson connector.
@@BradCagle Thank you. Victron does not make a Anderson connector (only cigar plug, clips, and ring connector), but it should be pretty easy to make one from one of those versions. A few manufactures have hole plug or conduit to run wires from inside the box to the outside, but I do not see that here. Very cool box.
@@m332csi BTW I have a link in the description for Anderson style connectors that work with licitti boxes. Thanks
@@BradCagle I saw that. Thank you very much.
Brad Cagle, You're so cool! Let's be friends and have fun!
Yea... That's not weird at all 😐😐
