I just got one od these units. The renogy 100ah battery that I planned to use is to tall to fit in this box. I found a piece of high density foam l had saved from some other projects and used that as a spacer between the bottom of the box and the top. The foam is black so it looks like it was supposed to be there. I am using another 100ah Renogy in a seperate battery box and connect the two boxes using the 175amp Anderson plug. I already had the two batteries being used as paper weights so this box works great .I have a epever 40amp left oner solar controller which I will use with one of the 50amp Anderson inputs in conjuction with one of my 800watt solar arrays. I will eventually add a 1500watt inverter that I replaced when I added panels and 3000watt inverter to my DIY solar system.
The two Renogy 100wh batteries came from my home made solar off grid system and were housed in Bosch stackable tool boxes. I had 3 batteries total that were 6years old when one battery bit the dust. That left me with 2 batteries that were usable after replacing the old batteries with 3 Power Queen mini 100WH batteries at less than the coast of the original Renogys. One of the Renogys is in the Licitti box and the other in a $10 battery box from tractor supply. The two boxes and batteries are connected in parallel. I use the Licitti box as backup to my home made system. The Licitti box only outputs 1000W, where as my system puts out 4500W. That's ok as I rarely use the full 4500W and use the Licitti box to charge or top off my bigger home made system. This works well as we rarely get a more than one or two day period without some sunshine, usually because of snow. In such situations between the 500WH of batteries in the 2 systems , 2KW of solar panels and a little rationing we do just fine.
This is awesome I need two of these to add to my off grid cabin solar array at a fraction of the price nice work buddy the price of two of those and two batteries is way cheaper than a solar generator too !
That's a pretty nice system. It can actually hold a 200 AH battery. As for the solar max input, I would like to find out what the max is. Thanks for showing us this product.
Ohh this is a game changer!! I love how you can use any battery you like and change the battery when it goes bad. I know you can build a DYI but not as compact as this. This is perfect for someone like me who do not want to build a full om DYI system but I can use any battery or replace them as need be. The only thing they should improve on is the display. Is not as detailed as i would like it to be. And i wonder if this is using a shunt or a battery voltage meter to indicate state of charge.
Just place an order for the 1000 Watt box! Will mostly be using it to charge all my cordless power tools and cameras and other wireless accessories. I have a 100 watt solar panel from harbor freight, so all I need now is a battery. Very nice video we'll be subscribing to your channel, thanks!
Also got the Power Queen 100Ah battery and just installed it. Will try out my solar panels tomorrow. I did notice that the charge controller has two LED lights on all the time, even if the main disconnect switch is in the off position.
@@rope103mc2 No problems at all so far with it. And I have been using it quite a bit but not via the solar charging. I use it to help save a little bit on my electrical bill since we have time of day usage here. And on peak hours are 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and the cheapest rate is 10:01 p.m. 4:00 a.m. I have a fan plugged into it from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. then after 10:00 p.m. I recharge it to get the cheap electrical rate!
Haven't crunched the numbers but it looks like the mppt supports 200w either s or p. I'm sceptical the case will hold a 200 or larger wh block of cells though. So much good about it's I/O design. But I skimmed their site and... so much left unsaid about it's I/O capabilities. ... and still, right now at least... I want one. 😐
What about the Licitti 2000W AC Battery Box? It's listed at $327, which seems like a good deal but I can't find specs on it. I'd love to see a video on that unit.
Very good review. I wonder if I can connect the ALLPOWERS 200W solar panel to this battery box? The ALLPOWERS panel specifications are: Open Circuit Voltage 22.2V, Power Voltage 18V, Short Circuit Current 12A, Power Current 11A
I absolutely love this set up. My Question though is I am wondering if I could replace the 1000 Watt Inverter with either a 2000 or 3000 Watt Inverter, without having to worry about voiding any kind of Warranty on the Unit ?
@@Iridium242 I did notice that they sell the bigger unit, but also for a much higher price. My idea is to get the bigger inverter for around $200.00 at Harbor Freight, and remove the 1,000 Watt Inverter, and install the bigger one in its place, and save some $$ in the process.
Why pay $2500 for a 2000 Watt Inverter in the same box, when I can spend $200.00 for the same size Inverter at Harbor Freight, and just swap out the 1000 Watt and replace it with a 2000 Watt ?
@@hangry7284 no, I have not tried either of them yet. I am tempted to build one of my own, I think it might be a bit cheaper. That way, if I want, I can add either a 2000, or 2500 Watt Inverter.
A solar input charge meter would be nice. Also, if they can increase the MPPT charger to 200+ watts, that would be awesome! I ordered one and waiting or it to arrive myself. After owning close to a dozen Ecoflow, I'm experimenting a semi-DYI solar generator. Thanks!
@Mr. Wilson I received it. I just ordered a second one. The price is exactly what's on their site, at about $160ish (sale), and shipping was $45 to the USA. It's a good deal and literally half the cost of a commercial power station of that capacity if you add a Lifepo4 100Ah battery that are usually $299 each. That's less than $500 for a complete DIY unit versus $1000.
@Mr. Wilson you can charge via whatever. They provide ample inputs. You will need an AC charger though. However, I use it as a solar generator, so I charge via the sun.
I charge mine via solar with the main power switch off. The charge controller is wired to be always on. You can see the red and green LED's staying on, on the controller.
When your battery gets low, can you just use a solar cable with alligator clamps on one end and solar panel connectors on the other, and plug another battery into the system?
Can you do a video on how to put a meter inline to see how much power is going in via Solar Charging and how to determine whether the battery is fully charged? TIA!
I bought one, $210 delivered with $10 code iridium10. Delivery was 4 days from Hong Kong to USA via UPS Worldwide Express. 280Ah Eve pack fit fine.
