  • A quick look at these two commonly available chronographs. Note that the Shooting Chrony may have been updated since the model shown was purchased.     I wonder why you just wouldn’t put them in front of each other - shoot through both at the same time

    Good video, and if you are anything like me the chronograph will be put back in the box, and go by results of your hand loads on target. Good revue nevertheless. Richard from Canada.

      Initially though if you are attempting to 'duplicate' the results from factory ammunition which works well, you will need to know its velocity at the outset.

    Wow that's rubbish ammo consistency on the supersonics lol. Would have been interesting to know the numbers with a centrefire. I used a 15yo Shooting chrony two days ago with .223 and got 85fps variation between 6 rounds, which is pretty damn good for factory ammunition.
    You should also be at least 3 metres from the muzzle to avoid any influence from it, at least according to the manual

      It was the subsonics but yes, very poor consistency. When time allows I shall do an extensive test with them.
