There're people saying that the MacBook Air from no where the windows break and they said that it was a careless use, but other people has has report the same problem with this machine....
One reason to spend the extra $$$ for the 14" MBP is you'll get your money back when you go to sell it in a few years. The current 2021 M1 Air is an obsolete design - we all know it will be redesigned in 10 months from now. It's the 'old' design language and will be worth much much less than it should be 3-5 years from now. There will be used 2022 Air's on the market at the same time and the old gen Air will be a hard sell. So if you keep your laptops for a while and keep them in good condition, you might as well plunk down the extra for the 14" Pro and enjoy it while you're using it. The screen size and quality is enough of a difference. You also get the 512GB SSD and 16GB RAM vs. 256/8 in the Air.
I was going to buy the pro, but after watching this and a few other videos, I’ve changed my mind! I have always owned pro’s, even though I don’t do any heavy editing or coding, just because I like the longevity and other perks (ports, etc). My industry increasingly requires some video and design work, but not enough to make the pro seem worth it anymore.
Good review. Personally I'd have liked a more detailed review of Excel (Silicon and in a VM) on these machines. Fast Excel performance is my #1 buying requirement for my next Mac.
When you buy you should also consider the future. If you buy a strong pro you can keep it for 4-5 years and still have a super machine, with the air you'd need to upgrade faster. All that said, still, only programmers with lots of docker or content creators might need it.
Guys it is easy to get carried away with with new model on every corner- for any common user the MacBook Air is the choice ( if you can go for the 16 GB version) People who works with graphic intensive tasks (You would know if you do) need the any of the pro models. I work in UI/UX and some QA. I use Photoshop, Illustrator, Axure, Xcode emulators, Multiple browsers w multiple tabs while at the same time being connected to 10+ vms. So I hope the 14’ Pro 32gb 1tb will handle it with ease.

@@dannysalazar7568I think it is a bit overkill for me, I don’t do video editing or use any heavy program, I am learning SQL, python with small databases and some front end like react JS, Gatsby etc, it runs smoothly. But I think most of those things can be done on MBA, like MBP’s monitor and also for long term benefits I don’t regret having it. Buy earlier can enjoy it sooner:)
Now Thats why I follow Andres Vidoza, I broke my head for hours and finally, I've Gotten an Answer, I am gonna get the air and Build a custom pc with an i7-12700K and RTX 3060ti, Thank you so so Much andres!!! You need 1M!
Got a 16 inch, initially felt a bit regret that screen is big as I was coming from MBA but after using for 2 months, my MBA is ready to be sold as I don’t want to go back to that small screen, everything is way much better on 16” and you get used to size slowly just like how we got used to from iPhone 3,4 size to iPhone pro and pro max sizes. Watching Netflix shows and movies is definitely worth more on 16” than on 14”. Highly recommended that extra money to get 16” than 14”. Instead of 14” I suggest to stay on MBA if size matters and not quality.
My air m1 is very nice, i manage to run both xcode and android studio simulators at ones but it gets laggy. That's because i have 8gb ram model but even then its crazy how this tiny laptop can handle such tasks. I am considering upgrade to 14 inch, If I would've had 16gb ram on my air I wouldn't bother. But since I have to replace it I'd rather go for 14 inch in this case. One thing to note is that with Monteray and xcode 13 my air m1 became less perfomant and more power hungry. It also started to heat up more frequently not sure if that because of the new os or xcode or both. I would stay with Big sur if I woud've known that before the upgrade. But overall for $1300 air is very good machine, if you are a developer defenitely pick 16gb ram model it's a must, believe me!
Honestly the only thing I would want from the pro is the promotion and the mini led. If I could get that on the air it would be perfect. I have absolutely no use for the extra power.
I‘m a software engineering student in his first year, with a heavy load of stuff to study. Do you think 8gb of ram in the air are enough for the next 3-4 years? Edit: I bough the 8GB model, since Im on a tight budget, but honestly even with 8gb it's amazing and I can do everything for university as well as much more. E.g 8GB on Windows are nothing compared to this. Cheers
Yes, without a doubt. I believe that Air would be an excellent alternative for you if you are a student on a tight budget with a number of projects/college assignments to complete.
Thank you for the review and for the honest verdict! The specs are so similar and it does seem more worth to save the $1000 and to maybe consider the upgrade if you actually need it. I decided to get the MBA M1 (512 GB SSD, 16 GB RAM) and if I need more power I'd definitely consider the MBP Pro in the future.
Thank you so much for this video! Now Im leaning more towards m1 air instead of m1 pro. Have you tried doing docker and mobile dev work in macbook air? Im wondering whats the performance on that.
I have a M1 Air with 8Gb of RAM and it definitely is too little. If I have VsCode + Chrome open with 3 Containers mainly php-apache, phpmyadmin and a tiny mysql database running, the 8Gb are completely full and it uses a swap of around 5Gb. So maybe 16Gb would be enough? It really depends on how many containers you plan on running. If you want to "future-proof" get 32Gb of RAM.
Not very good conclusion. For majority of people it’s the screen real estate and quality that dictates that you’d better choose MBP 14” device. Extra power, ports, better webcam and sound are the sweet additions, but these are only secondary advantages. Just compare screen real estate to understand that MBA 13 is too small in 2022.

Student, office workers, home use and day to day task - Please don't waste your money Just go with MacBook Air OR Mac Min. Its worth it. I have been using mind since last June. and it can handle web conferencing and all of my office work ( Work processing, Web base systems, multiple email accounts and ETC)
Is 8gb ram still okay orr
@@marysy9032 I take it you are a light user - if you are - yes go with 8 GB - ( if you can go with 16 do so ) If you can go with 256 + 16 GB and it fit the budget go with it and buy a cheap external hard drive- the only reason I ask you to consider 16 GB ram is for the future - if you are person who is going to upgrade the laptop in the next 2 years - go with 8 GB it will be fine- I have been using mine (256+16) for more than a year and its perform as it did when it was new- ( I have rearly seen my ram use go beyond 8 GB anyway)
Nice review, thanks for the comparison! I can now choose the right one! amazing videos!!!
Great video man ❤️🔥🔥 production Quality and Cinematics are god level ❤️🔥🎉
I work in UI/UX and some QA. I use Photoshop, Illustrator, Axure, Xcode emulators, Multiple browsers w multiple tabs while at the same time being connected to 10+ vms. So I hope the 14’ Pro 32gb 1tb will handle it with ease.
I was wondering if the M1 Air could be use for the same tasks, except Axure and Xcode and the vms.
Do you connect to the VMs or are you running the VMs locally? 10 concurrent VMs is a lot.
no laptop can handle "10+ VMS." so you are con via the cloud so I would say you can go with even Air if most of your work is via the cloud but again you do Ux/UI I say this is why you will need to opt for the 14"
@@ko-Daegu they're full of crap. No one that does UX needs 10 VMs.
@@BrieoRobino the only one who actually does what he says is a full stack and a DevOps with 10 years experience and still struggle to believe he also does UX/UI or anything design related
and if he works in such a pro-level I would assume as most companies I know they have physical devices to test the UX in it.
Supporting you form the Philippines 🇵🇭
my 14 inch is coming tomorrow (from a 16 inch i9 heater/wind turbine) and I can't wait. Not a power user so definitely overkill but looking forward to it being quiet and cool throughout.
One of the best comparisons i've seen! Thank you!)
I ordered my m1 air 2 days ago and it'll arrive in a month so hyped!
Video and editing on this video is awesome
That intro song is epic nice work..
Good review! Finally someone who does things other than just video editing. Keep up the good work. Do you think you’ll do a flutter benchmark?
Amazing still very impressed with the performance with the M1 chip for the air.
Some great production quality man
Exactly the video I was looking for, thanks a lot
FIRE REVIEW
Hello sir
awesome video, digged the new looks
Thank you Diego!!
Thank you for this awesome video, I am a beginner of programming, still decide to go for MacBook Pro M1 pro basic + 1TB, cuz I am planning to have it for 5 years at least.
Im super happy to help!! Nw at all
How’s it going so far? I’m getting into Python programming as well and still deciding which one should I get 😅
@@dannysalazar7568I think it is a bit overkill for me, I don’t do video editing or use any heavy program, I am learning SQL, python with small databases and some front end like react JS, Gatsby etc, it runs smoothly.
Happy to help man!!
Thanks Man! I will buy Macbook Pro 14 next month and thanks this advice deepnote: I am a Game Developer
Everything aside
But
Those intros are just ❤️
Air it is and that battery life while coding helps away from a power outlet!
Instead of 14” I suggest to stay on MBA if size matters and not quality.
yo your videos r improving day by day, and those cinematic intros look fire 🔥! informational video btw! 💛 subbed
Thank you so much broski!! Means a lot man
My air m1 is very nice, i manage to run both xcode and android studio simulators at ones but it gets laggy.
Nice and classy as always, just use a little bit wider frame.
Huge fan of your videos.
Gotchaaa!!
I had to end the video when he said the notch is necessary for a 1080P camera. I like apple products but the camera doesn’t need that notch.
Very Clear Verdict. Loved it. 😁
cinematics are amazing
Honestly the only thing I would want from the pro is the promotion and the mini led. If I could get that on the air it would be perfect. I have absolutely no use for the extra power.
Exactly
I might reconsider buying air than the pro after watching this. Kudos to you!
Hello 👋🏻
As always the video is amazing 🔥
just wanna say
beautiful
epic
banger
amazing
outstanding
wonderful
just wow!!!!
Go for 16gb.
What is the lifespan in years of a MacBook Air? I keep my laptops for very long.
I LOVE YOUR CONTENT ANS SETUPS!!!!!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you so much bro!!
Looking to go for that exact config.
How do you find it so far?
really wish you compared the 16GB version of the Air. It is much, much more capable for development use.
I ended up with the MBA since I already have a 5950x + 3080 PC. Doesn't make sense to spend more when the PC can handle heavy tasks.
exaaaaactly. good stuff
Trust me get the air. Worth the money and already miles better than most laptops out there
great man thanks for so interesting review
Excellent intro and review
thank you for this video
great insight and advice
Thank you for your efforts ❤️🔥
Not very good conclusion. For majority of people it’s the screen real estate and quality that dictates that you’d better choose MBP 14” device. Extra power, ports, better webcam and sound are the sweet additions, but these are only secondary advantages. Just compare screen real estate to understand that MBA 13 is too small in 2022.
