I am so sorry for the bad experience you had. Traveling with a family of six is not a job. I can feel your pain because I leave in the U S with my husband and 3 boys and we just traveled to Ghana for 6 weeks for summer break and it was very stressful packing up bags and making sure we had all the necessary stuff we needed. I know it would have been more stressful to go through your experience. In our case we flew with delta and everything went well.
Do you know the airline can pay up to 3 times your fair if they bumped your flight. You might want to look into that and get some money back.

Hi just stumbled upon your Channel you are a good story teller and you actually resemble a sister in my church, i am a Nigerian British citizen living in the UK and your story really made me sad especially how the Airline handled it, I have worked in the travel industry in Nigeria and the UK and i can tell you that the way Lufthansa behaved with this issue would not happen in the West and if they did they would pay heavily I like the life lessons you drew from your awful experience but now you live in Canada I am sure you have products like travel insurance which will compensate you for any such behaviour from airlines. I totally understand what you went through cos I had the same experience. Booked Abuja-Frankfurt-Calgary but ended up with same stories of no seats from Abuja, no seats from Frankfurt etc. Ended up with the multiple stops routing I was running from and had to be put on some funny airline from Frankfurt to Vancouver before boarding another airline to Calgary. That one has its own issues with delays that made us miss the Vancouver to Calgary flight. It was just a very frustrating experience. And you with kids, I can just imagine. All is well that ends well. Thank God!

Seriously! Although this did not happen to me directly, but I was so infuriated when listening to your ordeal. The fact that there was no consideration for compensation and no show of remorse from the so called Martin when the situation was actually their fault really got me so 🤬 worked up! I’m glad you are where you are right now, but I can just imagine the “STRESS” at that moment in time.

The attitude of their staff is of great concern. Things happen, changes happen, challenges come, but how someone talks to another human going through it is very crucial. Words of empathy give one momentum to go through challenges. They really need to go for training on human relations.
