So crazy, Kove was in the year below me at school. Played guitar with him a couple times, he was really reaalllllly good. Kinda surprised he went into D&B but he deserves all the success he gets, very talented guy

DnB will be by far one of the most "ahead of it's time" genres ever to be created. The sound engineering skills these producers/DJ's have is insane
I assume of course that you're referring to this track (primarily) and DnB in general. While i do absolute LOVE this track (and DnB *mainly LDnB* overall). You are incorrect regarding DnB being "ahead of it's time" in terms of engineering skills. While i'm not trying to downplay their incredible skills (which is massive imo). There are a lot of genres in EDM that - purely from a producer standpoint - are FAR more difficult to produce. Like Hardstyle to name one..
Now, before some non-producer bashes the genre because they don't like it and therefore it "doesn't sound as good"... I do not talk about what "sounds better/worse". I am talking purely from an engineering standpoint.
Example 1: Hardstyle uses a very WIDE range of the available frequencies on the spectrum to be used for the kick (combined with the bass of course..) when mixing their tracks. Hence the room left for all the other sounds (pads, snares, FX, vocals, synths, etc. etc. etc.) is A LOT more limited in terms of frequencies... So the area to "work on" to be able to still make it sound great and "loud" and well produced/mixed, while still using all those frequencies for the kick - Is Insanely and frustratingly hard/difficult to accomplish.... Yet some of the top producers have managed to do this time and time again and make incredible and very well produced tracks (no matter one's personal opinion on if they like it or not ofc.)
Example 2: Now the kick i mentioned - It's not like anything you'll find in most other genres when it comes to time spent getting it perfect etc.... Back when i produced music (have had a break for a few years) i remember spending about 2 weeks working 12 hours a day on perfecting mine.. Still didn't come close to some others (this was in the Hardstyle era of 2012-2014 ish i think.. when the kicks were (in my personal opinion) the best!
Now of course there are other EDM genres which really takes the engineering to that next level! i just gave an example here! hehe.
And lastly - of course in almost all genres of music there are pioneers that are in the very very top of that genre and who helps it evolve in a new cool way into the future (some more than others.. And about ALL producers help with that to some degree)
I have an massive respect for all music producers of all genres of music! you guys do VERY important work for all humanity! Peace!
@@GolfClashDreamR yes and no. Dnb was light years ahead. Pendulum, sub focus, noisia, fresh all pushed the envelope for production in the early 2000’s that were later adopted by Skrillex, deadmau5, Diplo etc and moved into other edm genres. You only have to compare the music that was being made at the time to the other genres to see how much Rob Swire in particularly moved electronic music on
