This song hits me hard. Hours After i delivered my last child by C-section, I started hemorrhaging, blood pressure dropped 60/30 and ended having to have 3 bags of blood. My mom who’s a nurse could only hold my hand and cry as I screamed mommy make them as they tried to stop the bleeding. My poor husband set just on the other side of the curtain holding our newborn son crying and praying. The lord answered bc 3 yrs later I am still here. Your reaction videos are amazing keep making them and good luck on your country journey. Country music is about a way of life
Had 3 sons. The middle son named after me. Was my carbon copy. He played minor league baseball. Great kid. Funny. Full of life. He came in with that Tim McGraw CD. Ask my wife to listen to this song. Don't take girl. My wife started crying. He yelled Dad ma s crying as he laughed. Well at 23yrs old he died in a rollover car accident in St.Louis. 1 week from going to pitch with Reds winter ball. Google Dennis McRoberts. October 8th 2004. Still cry every time this song comes on. Thanks brother
I've loved this song since it first came out & NEVER saw the video until today! Made me so happy to see her running with the picnic basket at the end! All these years I thought she probably died.
@@markfoor4137 Not sure if you're j/k, but, the little boy holding Johnny's hand is the child she gave birth to, she's running with the picnic basket, Johnny looks up and sees her running to him which is why he's smiling.
@Mark Foor At the end, he takes the boy fishing...his son. They never said in the song if the baby was a girl or boy. In an interview many years ago, Tim said they did it that way so it would be obvious that his wife lived!
That last verse applied to me in April, 2021. My girlfriend of 23 years, suffered a cardiac arrest, was revived and passed 6 days later. I begged and bartered with God for a different outcome. My heart broke when she passed. The only good thing was that I was glad that I hadn't left her alone.
This song hit me hard when I was younger. I have a 1 year old and it packs a massive gut punch now. The moment you brought up your 4 year old I knew you were about to have it rough.
The way you reacted to the song is how we all reacted to it on the radio back when it was new. The video was the first time we had any clue that she survived.
These song lyrics can give you goosebumps, make you cry like a baby, reminisce about the good Ole days, and hug your loved ones tighter. So let the tears roll, there's only a few thousand people watching 😢😊
The thing that people don't get about the ending of that video and the song is that she actually does live. That's his wife running toward them while he's taking his son fishing. But it is a beautiful song and it makes me tear up every single time
I Have 2 Brain Tumors, I’ve Had Over 13 Surgeries, I Was Diagnosed When I Was 9 Years Old, Since My First Surgery I’ve Had Chemo & Radiation & I’m 75% Blind, What Kept Me Alive Was All The Prayers That I Got From My Family & Friends!!!!!!
This came out when I was pregnant in 1996 and I was high risk and told I may not survive the birth. I'd you pay attention to the end of the video it's Johnny his wife and the child they had going fishing. It's his wife and child running thru the yard. As for me, I ha e an amazing 27 yr old son and I'm happy and healthy. My husband heard this song while I was pregnant and got so emotional. Praying he would ha e ME and OUR SON when we left the hospital.
I was on the interstate in the middle of rush hour the first time I heard this song. I literally had to pull over because I was crying so hard that I couldn't see.
I'm 54 and it's not just "don't blink" but full your life with joy, good memories for yourself and family I wish I had more memories of joyous events with laughter and fun, unfortunately I'm stuck with all the horrible events, pain, loss, you do not know what tomorrow holds I had a stroke one day unexpectedly and have some memory loss
My mom is a huge country music fan. I was pretty young when I first heard this song but it's probably the first song I can remember giving me an emotional reaction.
Tim's first hit record was Indian Outlaw. At the end of the song, he used the chorus of a hit Pop song, from the 70s, about the plight of the American Indian (Specifically the Cherokee Indian). Tim's mother was a Cherokee. The song from the 70s was called Indian Reservation by The Raiders. Also, Tim's Dad was Tug McGraw, a former MLB pitcher that was on 2 World Series Championship teams. He had a very long, and successful career.
I'm in tears! I have been ever since Lisa Marie Presley died & knowing she lost her son to suicide & thinking about all the Presley family is going through. Now after watching your reaction to this video by Tim McGraw #DontTakeTheGirl has got me all emotional again. I can see how lucky your wife & girls are to have a good husband & father like you & what a good person you truly are. I have enjoyed watching you & your beautiful wife react to some of my favorite country music videos. God bless you & your family!
Sebs...eventually you will have to fully face it 100%...you cannot get any better music for music, emotion, lyrics and a good story that paints a picture in your mind and hits you in your soul. ;)
If you look at the end of the video they're all three running and playing TOGETHER I understand people could read it differently but I choose to believe that just like in the two earlier occasions everything turned out great
Yes how a lady and 3 daughters deserve to be talked to,,respect or to hear their dad talk to their mother! They will want to seek a boyfriend or husband that treats them like dad does mom
I absolutely love how you make it so obvious how much you love your wife!!! So beautiful a thing, especially during these days!! I wish you and your wife a live of happiness and love!!
Another Tim must is Humble And Kind, it is something to teach the kids. The "don't take" is true love.. I lost my partner 25 years ago this month, and my heart stills loves. I was 35 then. Still hurts.
This was a pretty early Tim McGraw song. I think it came out somewhere around 1993. Tim was one of the greats that came out somewhere around 1990. My favorite song by him has always been "Live like you were dying". Which is about his dad Tug McGraw who happened to be a MLB pitcher.
listen closely to third verse, "his momma is fading fast", the baby is a boy (Johnny Jr.), and fourth verse is a repeat of the first, but in this verse Johnny is now the dad and the same sweet girl is bringing the picnic basket, so it does have a happy ending.
I was a teenager in the 90s when Tim hit the scene and this song broke me every time. There is so much of his music that will break your heart but lift you up.
A love song for the ages. - The video shows us she lived and they have another one (she's carrying the little one in the car seat), but the song itself leaves it to the imagination. I'll always love this song.
Love your reaction to this song .I love country music because it's always so about real life situations.we need to wake up to what is really going on around us so beautiful done I have been listening to country music for over 30 yrs I love it
I'm 68 and as soon as the music started, so did the tears. I know the song well and it always affects me, but knowing what you were about to hear, it seemed to affect me more. Great job young man. I really enjoy your reactions, alone and with your beautiful wife.
@@traviswissman5633 It’s not because we think she died, it’s the love you have for someone that could be taken away from you at any moment, or for one that has been taken away from you. At least that’s my reasons.
The BEST song stories that grab and move people are country music songs...George Jones - "He Stopped Loving Her Today", Randy Travis - "Three Wooden Crosses", Tim McGraw - "Don't Take The Girl", Brad Paisley - "He Didn't Have To Be", Craig Morgan - "Almost Home" and the list goes on and on...

Hi Sebs I seen Tim Mcgraw live in concert Long ago. We were sitting kinda far away from the front. They turned all the lights out and it was pitch black, We couldnt see more than two feet in front of us. Then we heard Tim starting to sing and they flipped the spot light to the stage and Tim was sitting on a tall stool with a guitar . like 8 feet away , We were near the end of a long stage on the side . He must have wanted to folks in the cheap seats to be stunned. Well it worked, We said to ourselves, Is that Tim there. It was the best concert Ive been to. he played this song there, It didnt hit me at all. The video makes a big difference I think . But I seen that reaction of yours to garth brooks friends in low places. That looked like a off the charts concert for sure. So I put that on my bucket list , Angelina Jordan is my next concert I want to see, Then garth . Great reaction Buddy, God Bless .
