Hey if the “B Emilia” is a Brachypelma Emilia, don’t feel bad about it not burrowing, it’s normal, mine hasn’t it’s whole life. I also bought it a little house and it just stuffs its self in the corner of the enclosure and away from its house haha.
Purchased a PZB from Jamie this past summer. Just molted and is starting to show some of that pink. My daughter and I cant wait for more of that adult coloration to start showing up.
My b.emilia sling is the same, always hanging around motionless on the same spot... I got it in august and it hasn't even molted once. I think I lack the patience for brachy's :D
rumpelstilzz hey I have a B Emilia also and I got mine in June last year as well as a sling. It’s molted only once in August but it hasn’t ate since end of November around Thanksgiving, thoughts?
@@AngelManzo12 As a european, I have no idea at all when Thanksgiving is :) But not eating since end of November might just be premolt. Takes ages with those brachypelmas, and if she has molted last in August, I think it's due. I have recieved counsel to keep emilia a little bit moister than other brachys, slings anyways, and mine prefers sitting next to her water dish all day. So keep hers full, let it overflow a bit when refilling and she should be alright. I'm absolutely no expert on brachys though but that's the way I go with mine.
Awesome little video and my urge for getting T's have reached a new peak🗻👍. I actually have videonight with my wife on hold for this video, so I got to go now. Take care.
aww Im gald you got more E campustratuses and omg baby spoods are so adorable 😍 I got my first new spiders for ages this week and one of them I got bcus of how nice Oscar is so yep its an Aphonopelma hentzi and it is completely tiny even smaller than your new E campustratuses i think it must only be like 1 moult after egg w/ leg stage. I will be happy when it gets a little bit bigger bcus right now I have to pre-kill crickets for it and chop them up and I dont like that
I have adult female and Im searching like crazy for male. Such awesome species should definitely be more of them. I never intended breeding any other species but I simply have to do it if I find male.
Question: it is ok to pair off sibling spiderlings (when they're mature ofc) from the same Web sac? Also, is doing so a (somewhat) common place among breeders? (genuine curiosity and want to learn)
Hi Kat! Please could you show me your 4 x E. Campestratus slings? I'd love to see how much they've grown and changed in the last (almost) two years. Two of my 1cm slings died after a couple of months but the first one i got escaped but turned up a few weeks later. It's still fine and 12 months old but is the slowest growing of all my 75 T's!! thanks Justin - England
Do Tarantulas mature into ~50% male/female? I feel like - given that the males have a much shorter lifespan - there would be more males in an eggsac to compensate. I can't seem to find any hard data on this though.
You're knowledgeable about your 8 legged friends. You care for them, worry about them, and make sure you are doing all the right things for them for their survival. But girl, you babble with necessary information! By the time you get to the "star" of your video, it's half over! I'm not saying this to be ugly. I'm a get to the point of your video and focus kinda gal. I mean no harm. My grankids & I enjoy watching you but sometimes become uninterested in a lot of talking about this or that, that really has nothing to do with the focus of the "star".
Careful with those dollar tree containers, my friend ended up with a free range Nhandu chromatus because the lids don't fit securely enough and a large enough sling can just push it open. Definitely weight the lids down or stack them. Congrats on the new additions! Fingers crossed at least one or more ends up female!

Always love your videos! Can I ask, is it possible to overfeed a tarantula or spider? - I have homed a house spider because I didn't want my cat to kill him and I didn't want to put him outside in the cold n I'm worried I could over feed him
@@tarantulakat Thank u so much for getting back to me, Thank u for the advice, I'll certainly stick to what u say! Also thank u so much for making videos, it's directly helped me overcome a phobia that's bugged me for years, so thank u so much 💙👍😊
My favourite tarantula of my collection oddly enough was sent to me for free with an order I made from Tarantula Canada. I received my order + a L. Parahybana sling. I have always offered her every form of hide, substrate to burrow in. She insists on sitting dead center of her enclosure exposed for me to see. Making her able to show me thee most intense take downs. She is around the 6 inch mark and I am totally obsessed with her. I own P. Metallica and M. Balfouri but this T wins it for me with her attitude.
My first even Ts were from Jamie's, C.Marshalli, M. Robustum, N. Chromatus, A. Geniculata, and a T. Albopilosum(that ended up being another A. Geniculata)
It will take some self discipline to not order one for myself. Right now I have 8 Ts. I've sort of set a limit to ten. One is going to be a c Darlingi or marshalli. I guess the last one could be a pink zebra beauty. These decisions are so stressful!
tarantula kat Oh, I didn’t know that! Thank you very much. If you have time for one more question - why can spider be kept in such small enclosures? They do not like or enjoy walking/exploring? I was shocked at first when I saw some kept in small pill bottles!
they are opportunistic so basically they make a burrow and stay inside or next to it and attack prey as it comes to them. Very content in small dark places. If a tarantula is wondering it is usually a mature male looking for a mate - males go to females
I am so happy for you. The E campestratus are darling. I do not have a Tarantula yet and I hope the E campestratus will be my first one. Love your videos.
I've never been so early!! I absolutely can't stand spiders. I tried keeping a wolf spider once and I just couldn't do it. Am I going to still watch Kat? Yes!! Living vicariously and becoming less arachnaphobic everyday...
I _do_ like spiders, but I doubt I could keep a wolf spider- they're too fast! At least the ones around here are... I can't handle the startle factor. Honestly, I'm impressed you even tried! It's amazing how many people these videos help with the fear of spiders. For my part, even though I've never had aracnophobia, I've noticed that since I started watching Kat and Petco (The Dark Den), I'm less tense dealing with spiders, and the expectation they will startle me by bolting. I hope these videos keep chipping away at the aracnophobia for you. Cheers!
Yeah it was actually a mommy wolf spider and I felt bad cuz they all died. :( So it never bolted on me. If it did, I would have flipped my shit!! Lol. But, yes I tried and thank you. I hope one day to not be scared to death of spooders. I love my some snoodles tho!! My ball python is my fave buddy.
