Sur Ron might be popular on youtube but its also over saturated. If you have seen big ebiker channels get a Sur Ron, views go down. The bike itself might be more fun to ride, but if its for views Iunno. Might be better off doing something unique. That's what brought us all to the channel originally. My 2 cents
I think he got butthurt by a commentor trolling him that didn't even have one so he got self conscious and feels like he needs to buy one when he doesn't have most of the bikes he reviews anyway...
Our E-bike shop is actually a dealer for them lol. Sol-Mobil is the shop, one of the few brands we actually like besides Stealth, SteinTrikes & DelFast. Though we'd rather just build out a custom kit, they're solid bikes.
Piezo technology is excellent and not so well known even though we have all used it, heard of it, and especially heard it many times in our lives. The tech needs to go a lot further to be as useful as it can be, so I’m glad we are all talking more about it!

The Sur ron lacks the ability to be pedaled. I know there are conversions to put pedals but it's not the same as your current bikes. Have you considered enduro bikes?
Pretty sure my pedals have saved be at least a 1/2 dozen times Was checking out a Sur ron, but seem a bit smaller then I’d like (6’1” 190) for reference Personally looking at the Vector Vortex frame, but probably going to go with one of those enduro frames for my next build
I would check out the new street legal full carbon framed bikes from velimotors. E-powersports and ultratrx sell variations. Already 72 volt, 105 lbs, motor on the swing arm, bigger frame than a sur Ron, goes 62 out of the box, turbo or Regen, signals, alarm and can be tagged as a motorcycle for around 6k.
Update... I was going to order the wicked freedom a friend of mine just sold me 2021 Ariel Rider D class that's in almost perfect condition for 1000$ so I'm building a D class. Stock it's quite impressive. I own a Blade 10 Evo super scooter 60volt 28ah that does 47 mph I'm 235lbs . Scooter is for sale if anyone is interested. Literally like brand new, two sets of tires and I bought a seat kit. 1200$

P.S. if you get the Sur-Ron I will be curious if you get it with pedals or without and if without, whether you register it or take your chances with the authorities. Will be a good ol' fashioned American social experiment. 😉
Yea, especially if he's going full van life and traveling around trying to ride that thing around. He'll be rolling the dice until he gets it impounded or rack up the tickets. Hopefully he has a motorcycle license just in case as well.
We need more ebikes that look like a bike. But have the power and performance of a sur Ron. This thing looks to much like a motorcycle. you will have to deal with stupid people who think you are riding a motorcycle.
i own a gen 7 and top out at 50mph.....surrons are slow asf i race them in PA sur rons can pop wheelies and the gen 7 can accerlerate way faster overall beating a surron stock to stock.....now the piezo looks betther than the gen 7 but only tops out at 40mph due to a 2000w rear hub compared to the gen 7 5500w mid drive which goes 45+.......and its faster than a stock onyx rcr in accerleration.....look up some vids.......monday is design to feel like a motorcycle but act like a bike....make a 4 wheeler electric and ad pedals and a 20mph limit thats a ebike lol thats what the piezo and gen7 are the pedals are for show but its street legal unlike the sur ron which is not....
Monday is notorious for bad quality bikes and even worse customer service. I wouldn't own another one even if it was free. Can't go wrong with a surron
