The low shaft centerline creates the superb stability for sure. That combined with the dynamic thrust angle change in corners make this a great course racer. It's great to witness your experience in real time...lol! Thank you sir for everything u do for this sport!
what you was talking bout was the non - trip chines and lift strakes ....2 reasons that boat turns sooooo well. spot on about that drive setup bet those inside sponson edges are crisp as well...
I have a Valvryn and the problem with it is the drive that came on it - it’s identical to the metal drive on the Tenshock but plastic. Doh! This caused it to flex (it also had a lot of play in it) which resulted in it doing these sporadic hook turns while running, making it almost impossible to track in a straight line. Many people had this problem and I think that’s why it kinda came and went and we don’t see many videos of them on here. You could (maybe still can) buy just the metal drive that’s on the Tenshock and directly replace it with the plastic one on the Valv - that was the fix. There’s actually a guy on here that has some videos of doing the swap. I think the Valv and Tenshock come from the same mold, but the Tenshock being fiberglass and having that metal drive really makes it the primo version to have. The Valv is heavy and hard to seal properly. I have seen some pics of the Tenshock on Facebook with cracks in the hull around the drive and up front in the sponsons from crashes, so have keep an eye out (I’m sure you’re aware). And speaking of unicorns, another very similar F1 is the Rocket Power 650EP that HK sold. It has the same nice metal drive, but it’s non self-righting, and doesn’t have the thin plastic bubble windshield that always breaks. Very similar / almost identical hull design to the Tenshock and Valv. Like the Tenshock, it’s just a beauty. I sent ya some pics for reference.
I've seen those upgraded tfl proboat valvryn videos, and it definitely made a huge difference in performance and handling.. I'd like to see a ul1 quality valvryn from Proboat, even if they did an outboard instead of the stern drive definitely cnc, that plastic just won't cut it. Tunnel hulls are plan out performers, and there's just not enough options available, like right now. I saw your Bancroft v3 straight zipping. It will probably be my next rtr. BG4L
So So pretty and looks like 4 mouldings , mare on labour costs to mould . But someone put real effort into the design regardless of problems . Still i will look out for one now ive seen this . Cheers Big B,
That proboat one was plastic and kinda lame. Big b you won’t feel much resistance on the steering. But it’s under big load because it’s not only turning a rudder but now a spinning prop. Force under load will be much higher than what you feel on the bench
Crazy fact ...true F1 tunnel boat engine's were 4.0 L 600 HP V-8 160MPH made in USA 30 miles from my driveway on the shores of the mighty LAKE MICHIGAN.....NAME THAT OUTBOARD...LOL THE FASTEST HULLS WERE BUILT IN ST LOUIS MO. GUESS THE BOAT BUILDER / LEGEND AND HIS SON'S....i have a severe bias when it comes to F1 boats so some may chime in bout some Italian dude and some dude from Sweden BLA BLA BLA....BEST F1 BOATS EVER designed , built and raced, come from ST LOUIS MO.USA.
I've been looking at the Mad flow for a while, it's currently available the tenshock is not, v3 madflow will be a cheap boat to upgrade and do some Speedruns with the hull and hatch are sold separately if I break the hull it's easily replaced and people can build along with Me. Can't say that about the tenshock
Yeah, but the Tenshock is just so classy. That said the MF is readily available at a reasonable price and can be easily upgraded. Too bad there aren't any Valvryns out there, that was a pretty cool little boat with a lot of the Tenshock features.@@IRONCLADRC
I've had a saved search on ebay for the valvryn for years now, that's another unicorn. Either its mint condition and they want a grand for it or it's used and abused and they still want a 999.99.. I'd love to see a update version of the valvryn from Proboat, with ul19 quality 👌
I agree. The way that outdrive is designed, turning on an angle, gives it like a automatic down trim in turns. Love it! BG4L

I'd have to agree, the way they laid out the hull is quite impressive. 👌

You'll need to find one used, the no longer produce this hull

I think you will find the Mad Flow quite a bit less "Professional" than that Tenshock boat........ By a LONG shot 😉
