This MV and lyrics are packed with a lot of interesting references and meaning. in the lyrics she uses "delicate Shim Cheongie" ...referring to an old korean tale. Shim Cheong (a filial daughter) was sold as a virginal sacrificial offering to the sea, in this way her blind father could make the temple donation needed to miraculously restore his sight. With the help of the Dragon King of the sea, she returned to the land and eventually became a queen. So Shim Chung is sacrificing yourself for the benefits or happiness of others, it means a great love without boundary. In the beginning of the mv she's reading 'Animal Farm' by George Orwell which is all about the constraints of society and following the rules…she tosses it aside. Her wrapped up in the plastic bag, coming out of a wardrobe crying, walking with confidence on a table and no one is paying attention to her while when she has a lighter skin tone and cuter hairstyle boys are at her feet...all is a clear reference to how women are treated in korean society. Wheein cameo...if you consider the lyrics of this song and Wheein solo 'Easy' it's like watching the opposite sides of the same coin. Plus Wheein is Hwasa source of strenght and comfort, you can see her leaning on Wheein and Wheein embracing Hwasa. Their makeup is natural and they're almost nacked because they can be themselves with each other. In the all black scene where you can see her and the legs of a man; it's like she abused of his love so much that in the end killed that feeling and when she understood what she did to him she tried to take the boy back but in the end he leaves her. Many people pointed out those blatantly fake birds...I mean, they could use CG like the leopard in Egotistic MV but I think they did it on purpose. A bare tree with fake/dead birds. Everything is white, birds, dress and background, so lonely. In Korea and the Middle East it is the norm that white symbolizes time of mourning and funerals. It is an interesting predicament that theorists find white relays the message of clarity. It could be thought that once someone has passed away there may be clarity in the peoples’ lives, or lack there of. And right after compare the black scene...so going back to the theory of the mourning and understanding (clarity) what she lost. Thank you for reacting to this amazing song, thinking she wrote the lyrics and composed the song plus choreo work...QueenSa is MATCHLESS!
You just wait and listen to it 2 more times and it will honestly get stuck so hard in your head, like I really am in love with the song and I haven’t like many new releases recently
Okay sir so this is not an attack nor a statement trying to change ur opinion, just trying to clarify If my memory is correct youve heard multiple mamamoo tracks, you have also reacted to a number of others and I just have to ask some tings.. Have you not noticed from previous releases that her voice has always been breathy shes known to not pronounce her words correctly shes been singing like that since before mamamoos debut 2014- ari just recently started changing her tone. Of course you not being someone who follows them might not know these things so jus clarifying for any viewers
He wasn't saying she is copying Ariana grande. As a fan of Hwasa and not a fan of Ariana I was still reminded of an Ariana song (like the last few). But there it wasn't a copy and there were no direct similarities to an Ariana song. Just a feeling that one can have between multiple songs :).
WalkingAlongLive i knew what he was saying and he should have ended his point where your statement finished but he then added that her vocal “seemed” diff that was what my op was adressing
Wheein and Hwasa are friends more then 10 years since they were trainies. And Hwasa was a cameo in Wheein’s “Easy”, so now Wheein is a cameo in Hwasa’s “Twit”)
they were friends before becoming trainees, they met in the first day of middle school, Wheein caught Hwasa's attention when she introduced herself to the class so she approached her and the rest is history
"not so sure about that bridge" I appreciate your opinion, but this bridge gives me shivers every time I hear it. It's sad you didn't really like this song, but that's understandable, all of us are different

I agree. Her tone of voice wasn't copying anyone. It's her voice and only hers that's been unique since debut

Was merely a comparison to get my point across.

I love Hwasa but I don't think this really showcased her amazing vocals as much as I would've liked.
