- Pak Chong is a lesser-known town in Northeast Thailand, about 170 km from Bangkok. Most people pass through on their way to Khao Yai National Park, but there’s more to this place than just hiking trails. In this video, I take a closer look at Pak Chong itself, exploring what makes this town unique.
One of the biggest surprises was discovering a hidden temple with an underground passage, featuring intricate carvings and an unusual design that looks like wood but is actually stone. The town also has some unexpected quirks, from fake rock formations to random wildlife that I wasn’t expecting to see here.
Pak Chong has a mix of rural charm and modern development, with local markets, historical landmarks, and a growing backpacker scene. It’s not the usual stop for travelers, but with a few interesting finds, it might be worth a visit.
So, is Pak Chong just a stopover town, or is there more to it? Watch to find out!
I am an older backpacker travelling the world proving that backpacking is not just for the younger generation.
