dope hill been workin on the MPC for about 3-4 months and chopping has been the most difficult frustrating part for myself. This vid definitely helped out big time keep doing u homie!!
Because it's not a traditional MPC (Drum Sampler/MIDI Sequencer/Drum Machine). It's a Music Workstation. If you want a MPC workstation, get an X or some ish. It will do all that chopping bs in seconds. Plus it will have lots of plugins, bs sounds/loops/synths, etc. If you want a traditional MPC, get a 2000, 3000, 60 II, or 60. All of which were made by Akai Electric Co LTD. 2000xl on up were made by that new Akai BS!
@@therealliveguy Didn't need a jjos in the 5000 jjos only pretty much made things like the 5000 i still own one the last update 2.0 made the unit pretty solid
same set up as me, i link my mpc to my motif using 2 midi cables, i then have the audio cables going from both my mpc and motif into my audio interface which is linked to my protools ready for tracking. in protools you goto your i/o settings and make sure all your audio inputs are set up.
Hard to say for you. It really depends on what your used to using. I come from the 2000xl, which had no effects. However, for what I do with the mpc, I give it a 8 out of 10. The compressors and reverbs really give your drums punch. I also like the flanger, wah wah, and tremelo effects.
Lots of time BPM speed of metronome is key to samples falling against the beat perfect. Also the more chops of an individual part gives you much more control as to exactly where a sample lines up against the drums and metronome time. I like the sound of this track. Even changing the milliseconds of a BPM helps a record sample chop fall tighter to your metronome and drums.
5k is def the dopest hardware mpc there is imo. When it comes down to 5k vs. the R, I spend probably equal time on both, maybe give a edge to the R. You def made the right decision getting the 5k now bro, people gunna want that mpc more over time. Ren will only get better in the future too. Only disappointment with the 5k is they should of kept the advanced sampling like in the 4k.
Man! them drums & the sample is tight, without that swing it's just not wright, Haaaha ha.. I'm liking the 5000, from what i hear hill in this vid, sound quality is Nice!! Good teaching, untill next time, BE EASY FAM!!!
Nice Vid Fam!! Still want a MPC5000, Get my MPCR next week but I am hoping in the future to get my hands on a MPC4000 as well. Keep Teaching Bro. Plan on stopping home the first week of Nov. We gotta hook up for a sec.
help. Please tell me I have a MPC5000 and a Yamaha Motif XF, How can I connect them to eachother and also hook it up to my protools program ?? I also have a Presobus Mixer 16.4.2 if that matters or not. Please help me please. !!
Need your dvd on the 5000 hill to go along with the one i have from Sounds For Samplers, i'll never get rid of my 5000, Haaaaha ha ha.. ight J.. Clint.. 1
Yo. Not sure if you still check your page, but if so do you still use the 5000? I started out on the MPC Studio and then moved to NI, but I have a strong desire to try to learn one of these old stand alones. In a weird way, I feel like a lot of the limitations would force some new forms of creativity. Any thoughts/advice?
I would recommend the mpc live, but if you want limitations, i would go with the #mpc2500 with jjos or the 5000. I love the sound of the 5000, but the 2500 workflow is faster and better.
@@beautyler4339 that's a non akai operating system that a former akai employee developed that supercharged the 1000 and the 2500 with more features including non destructive chopping which the 5000 doesnt have.
Hello budy, how are you? I think only you can take my doubts, please. NO mpc 4k and it is possible to use time / swing in real time, I say while playing the notes given you will change the shuffle swing in mpc. no 5k is possible It's just a shame. I always see your videos and I know you have a lot of experience today I own a mpc 2000xl but I want to go forward which do you think better 4k or 5k?
Nice bro..loving it still learning this lovely machine...plz go to my channel and tell me where I need to improve..havent had alot of time on it this year..kids, work..then my toy...peace

more lockdown more MPC time😎😁
No doubt! Lol
5000はとても優れたマシンです。
60や3000といったヴィンテージマシンも使っていますが、5000での作業はとてもスムーズです。
特にサンプルをトリムするのが簡単です。
出音も気に入っています!
Really great to see how you work it, to find those little groovy vocal lines... Thx
Why doesn't anyone like the 5000?
no JJ OS
I still use my 5000...I like it

Im looking to get an mpc 5000, is there any ways to use WAV/MP3 files from your computer on it?
Wavs but not mp3. You have to convert the mp3 to aif or wav.
hillprop97 ok thanks. Loved this video btw hope you making more

What's the key to creating the ghost kick
I really don't get why akai stop making these types of devices. The ren is cool but why stop making mpcs like this one?
how do you export it so you can record on it along with how you sample samples on to it ?
