Awesome lesson. I bought your caged unleashed series, and it's great. I often get too into using one chord/scale shape, so this video is a great reminder to move around and use those other shapes to add some spice, and feel
Man, that really was a 15 min well spent. One of those lessons you can make a lot of mileage with. It was just what I needed to get my rhythms going. I'm gonna be thinking of you and this lesson for a long time. Thanks for sharing and congrats!
Another comment from me haha. I've been playing for a few years now but stopped actively learning after I learnt my scales. I'm looking at the fret board in a whole new light already light bulbs are going off left, right and center in my head. Can't believe I didn't see all this an hour ago! Can't wait to work my way through all your videos! Many thanks!
Hey Brett I've learned a ton about soloing from your videos, but dude I gotta say your rhythm playing is top notch too. Awesome stuff man!!! Love your Country lessons too.
Papa - really inspirational (as ever!) - I regularly don't know where to go next with my playing, then I watch you and BOOM! I'm back on it, with a goal and something to work on to take me further. Glad you have your mustache in this one - videos without it are weird man - I'm thinkin "who is that guy, that baby-faced axeman?" - Thank you, thank you, thank you (as you would say!)
Great inspiration again.loving playing my axe again after your melodic soloing video lesson and this video .things were getting stale but it's opened a new door.thanks again
Papa, Once again great video. You have definitely got me digging in deeper every day to be abetter player. Thanks for all the building blocks and tricks. You are a great teacher. I wish i would have come across someone like you that makes me eager to learn years ago, but Hey it's never too late. Thanks and keep em coming
Watched this video before I purchased your Hendrix DVD set and just watched it again after viewing and practicing things I have learned on the Hendrix tutorials (which were amazing and very insightful). Could not master the rhythm parts on this video before working with the Hendrix DVDs but I can now. I suggest everyone who follows Papa, should purchase the Hendrix DVD set. My guitar playing has improved beyond my wildest dreams as a result of following Papa"s instruction on the Hendrix DVD set. I also purchased a Michael Tuttle Guitar which has also given me a leg up. Will be looking forward to purchasing Papastache's next tutorial effort. Sincerely, Bert Clark
Great lesson Brett! Thank you. Hey, I don't know how to make a request, or if you even take requests, but I just heard the old 70's song "Fooled Around And Fell In Love". What a killer, slow, tasteful, melodic solo. Could you please teach that solo? I immediately thought of you. I figured you must like the solo from what you have taught and talked about. Thank you, and have a great day!!!
Man you rock, can you please do"the smell loves the devil outta me"by have Everett I really love the song and want to learn how to play it but there's no videos or tabs on it so I was wondering if your can please do it.
Essential lesson!! Thanks a lot! Would have been even more obvious on how essential it is if you recorded and added up your different parts together...really would have liked to hear the result. :-)
Wow another awesome lesson! Do you have a full course that expands on "creating more exciting rhythm parts" along with embellishing chords? Seems like everyone has lessons on lead playing when rhythm is whats mostly played. I personally feel more of this is whats really needed to accompany a singer and to write songs. I'm an intermediate player with a good knowledge the CAGED system and a fair knowledge of triads as well along with scales (major, minor and pentatonics). Learning to be more creative with it all is where I'm at right now so this lesson definitely got me excited for more! Hopefully there is! Just subscribed to the website email. :-)
the chord played at 9:14 , with the little hammer on pull off, how is that done? I feeI like i've never heard anything like that before. It sounded like a 'roar'. How did he do that what is he playing?
Papastache102, Do you have lessons to learn the fretboard so I can understand that part first before I go from understanding this great lesson you posted? I can do skype lessons if you have available. Thanks
My friend and I are starting a band (we still can't think of a good name) and I kinda have writer's block, although I think it's more like guitarist's block but whatever. Can you make a video of how to play rhythm in style of pearl jam, mother love bone, stereophonic, and other grunge bands like that just so I can get more ideas? Thaaaannnnks. Also, in case there is already a video that can help me out, what is it called because I can't find it.
Drape your pinky on your picking hand over the high strings, or you can lightly touch the high strings with the first finger of your picking hand. Don't press down hard enough to fret the notes, almost like a palm mute with your fretting hand.
Man, as a singing rhythm player you just changed my life! You're a born teacher.
Thanks!
Rally love the way your make it look and feel so easy! Great lesson for how to pay with another guitarist and still maintain your own sound!
These 3 lasts lessons are the best I've ever watched, feel like I've opened the pandora box !
dear papastache all i want for Christmas is more rhythm lessons
Awesome lesson. I bought your caged unleashed series, and it's great. I often get too into using one chord/scale shape, so this video is a great reminder to move around and use those other shapes to add some spice, and feel

You are welcome!

Great great lesson. I focus so much on lead playing that I neglect my rhythm playing. More rythm lessons please.

Wow thanks! My buddy has a few tuttle's and they are all amazing! Gonna get one soon for sure!
This is exactly what I needed. Heck, I still do! Just another awesome day at the office of Papa Stache!
awesome , when i come back to older lessons and see how you were teaching a version of the CAGED system , but just calling it inversions, nice
You are a legend man, really helped me with band situations bro!!!
I went back to guitar after three years. Your videos help me a lot man. Keep on !! \m/
Awesome! Welcome back and thanks for watching!
Nice thanks! Also I just noticed you moved the volume knob to the next position. Smart move.

Good stuff man
Could you say a little about your guitar and the pedals and amp you are using? That’s a nice sound you’re getting...

Awesome! Thanks for checking out the vids! Yes the membership on my site will start focussing a ton on rhythm guitar.
@@BrettPapa Great! We'll be keeping an eye on that sure thanks! :-)
Add Charlie Starr from blackberry smoke to the list of singing and playing at the same time. Amazing
Agreed!

figured it out

Just look at their tabs it's most likely a lot of descending power and bar chords with a fuzz pedal
Was that beginning thing you did something from trigger hippy?
Thanks master!
Can anyone share the link to the video that mentions about "inversions" at the beginning of this video?
Kicks ass !!
Thanks!
yes you must master the fretboard
What's up Papastache ? Any word on doing more Hendrix videos ? Play on Jimi !!!
You should surf through his videos. He must have dozens of Hendrix videos! I know I've watched them all.
I try and try to do this but the high strings ring out and it sounds sloppy. How do you keep this from happening!
Drape your pinky on your picking hand over the high strings, or you can lightly touch the high strings with the first finger of your picking hand. Don't press down hard enough to fret the notes, almost like a palm mute with your fretting hand.
I try to but, it doesn't sound like you, you make look so easy. Especially on the G. Thanks man, you are the best.
Do you interact with a Band? :D Your such a good GuitarPlayer :)
Excessive Dude thanks! Playing with some friends but nothing serious. I would love to play out more at some point.
papastache102 yea, Jaming with friends is always fun. If your creating a band in the future, good luck man!
go and see CAGDED system and thank me later , all he is doing in this is caged
But this dude teaches the caged better than almost anyone out there
But he's also exemplifying how to apply CAGED to rythym guitar and mix up your play while most videos only focus on solo work
Is it me or is that yousicianadver advert REALY fucking annoying!
