Hey guys! Thanks for all the appreciation and support, it really means a lot to me to hear all your positive comments. I'm happy to see so many people have enjoyed and appreciated this video. I wanted to let everyone that has asked about a new video or my Etsy page know that I have had to close down my store due to personal reasons. I hope this video continues to inspire people. I encourage anyone wanting to give leather work a go to give it a try! The costs to get started are quite reasonable and there's nothing quite as satisfying as making your own goods!
That's a very nicely made piece. There really is something special about homemade products. It just makes things feel more precious, knowing that you can't just buy another one.
Wallet is gorgeous, but for me the star of the video is the workshop. Or should it be called a leather surgery? A man who takes care and pride in his tools. Quality.
Hi Can say the simplicity with which this is executed shows the craftsmanship involved. Great video looking forward for more in the future. Also would appreciate if you can share the model of the sewing machine at 1.17.
how much would you charge to make a wallet just like this one im looking for a wallet maker for my upcoming collection. i want only high quality construction and high quality materials.
What a feast to watch! I wonder if it's normally that clean and organized all the time though, mine looks like a hurricane passed through after 15 mins!
+Will Akers I don't know how many blacksmiths you know, but your statement is absolutely incorrect. Modern blacksmiths use any tools as required for the job. industrial, primitive, whatever.
DraccoKnightblade I used to do custom orders, but unfortunately I've put my leatherwork on hold for now to travel full time. If you're interested my instagram user name is @blue.atlas
You're going to laugh, but what struck me the most was the fact I have a very similar machine (Pfaff 335) and since I only got it recently I had no idea if that clicking sound at every stitch was normal. Glad to hear it is. And thank you so much for this video, your work space is an inspiration. Some of us clearly don't have the talent for organizing tools and consumables. I thought I'm the only crazy person that glues stuff to the machine feet lol Btw any reason you're using Fiebing's instead of Fenice/Vernis edge paint?
Hides&Thread Leather Kangaroo leather is by far my favourite leather to work with, it's significantly stronger than cow leather has much finer uni-directional fibres and is very lightweight.
Thanks for the craftingporn
No problem! Glad you enjoyed it.
Ben
Wow! Beautiful work! I had no idea how much craftsmanship went into making a leather wallet!

Wallet is gorgeous, but for me the star of the video is the workshop. Or should it be called a leather surgery? A man who takes care and pride in his tools. Quality.
Thanks John! It makes the process so much more enjoyable when you can find all your tools and have a clean area to work in!

Will Akers and blacksmiths use hammers, what's your point?
Angelus Portillus
Blacksmiths don't use industrial machinery.

Hides&Thread Leather Kangaroo leather is by far my favourite leather to work with, it's significantly stronger than cow leather has much finer uni-directional fibres and is very lightweight.

Moar videos!!!
clickbait, the wallet in the thumbnail is vertical, the one in the video is a regular wallet
Good observation! I was waiting for someone to point that out. I don't know if that makes it click bait, it's just a different model of wallet I made.
Ben o shit no one else noticed? I was joking as a triggered viewer calling out clickbait, its no big deal
