i just bought iPhone 8 Plus a month ago... i tested it well, i took 3utools also, and the battery may have been replaced, it works fine, one charge a day... still a good phone for my opinion 👌
I’ve used my 8 plus (256 gb) since launch. Fantastic phone. Replaced my battery myself twice over these 6 years. I want to use it until it explodes in my hands lmao. I love still having a home button & being able to use touch id. I really wish they would make another large face home button iPhone. Especially since the new-gen se exists.
Loving the 8 Plus for the most part. The biggest downside for me right now is the lack of 5G support. In my area LTE is getting phased out while 5G is getting phased in. I've noticed way to often I don't have service lately. Thinking about going to the SE (3rd Gen) but hesitant due to the screen (size and resolution).
Why not just buy a used 13 or 13 Pro. You’re gonna get at least 4 years from today of updates and it has the best battery to price ratio I think for any used iPhone including the 14 pro models.
I still use my original 8 and in my opinion I think it shouldn’t have even gotten iOS 16 but that might just be my phone specifically. Battery life is a joke compared to how it was on previous updates and I think iOS 16 is a decent stop after getting 6 major versions of iOS. I’ll probably get a new phone soon (partially because my back glass is obliterated) so I don’t mind losing support. It was great towards the beginning but had a quick drop off around iOS 15-16.
Mine runs iOS 16 perfectly with no slowdowns. I think it should’ve got iOS 17 since iOS 16 was a lackluster buggy update but tbh it’s not like apps wont be supported anymore.
I got an 8 Plus at launch and used it faithfully for 3 years until I was able to upgrade to an XR. Absolutely loved it, it ran blazing fast all the time back then, no updates ever slowed it down that I could notice, battery lasted all day and I care a lot about how a phone sounds music wise, it sounded great for that. One of my favorite phones ever, I was honestly sad to have to sell it on to be able to afford the XR. And considering the 6s ran iOS 9-15, I feel like the 8 series definitely should've died on iOS 17, not 16, but that's Apple for you I guess lol.
Have had my 8 pro since it was released, and was contemplating upgrading to a 14 pro max; however, after viewing this video I’m sticking with the 8 pro as long as possible. I am convinced the home button will experience a rebirth in future models, the camera is excellent, and honestly, for Pete’s s sake, it’s just a phone. Plus I’m in my 70’s and will save the new tech for my grands.
I believe there was no SE Plus (and will never be) because many people would choose it over Face ID iPhones. Many people still miss Touch ID, but iPhone SE's battery and screen are just awful.
Iphone 8 plus was My worst iPhone I ever owned. I went through 2 of these phones, this was my first phone with battery swelling and almost explosion twice. I switched over to iphone xs max day one after it came out. I hated the gestures so much and hated face id so much that 5 months later I switched to Galaxy Note 10 plus and been on Android ever since.

Am still using the 8+ is still quite a good phone in 2023 especially as a secondary phone tho if one were to insist on getting it. Go for 256, 64 isn't enough.
I upgraded from the iPhone 7 to the iPhone SE 2 in June. Bought it off Amazon renewed for about $120, and it’s pretty good. I’m beta testing iOS 17 on it.
Got this phone soon after it's release. Still using it. Got a little obsessive about preserving battery health and after almost 6 years, it's just now dropped below 80% of its original capacity. It was the best battery life for an iPhone at the time, but I'm definitely looking forward to the much improve battery life on more recent models. Really liked the dual pane iOS apps it had.... but they have since removed that feature. Can't scroll through messages, emails or contacts and view one at the same time anymore. Kind of a bummer. Software focus shifted to the notched phones I guess. Anyway, great phone.
I still use the 8 plus as my second phone I use them until there out of iOS support then they go to wifi only to one day go back in there box and I then bring them out every now and then I’ve have mine from new still use the original battery it’s at 84% so soon I may replace it I’ll use it until it’s not support of security updates then move on to iPhone XS Max which I have had from new as well I don’t trade my iPhones I keep all mine
Is the cycle of the battery from using to charging over time it degrades and lower the battery percentage is over time may give you issues with your phone preference and so on
I have the iPhone 8 it is pretty good but the battery life is a problem 😢😢 but overall the iPhone 8 Plus and 8 yes they are worth it in 2024 and in the next few years
that's why you shouldn't have a samsung, plain and simple. They dont care to support their devices. They want you to to buy buy buy. Apple isn't like that
Bought an 8 plus off a friend for $50, because the mic was super clogged, the battery health was at 74%, and it has a cracked back. Since then, I cleaned the microphones and replaced the battery and it’s almost like new (I use a case anyway, the the glass does not bother me.)
I’m still using my 8 plus as my full time phone. I did get a free iPhone 11 from switching to metro by T-Mobile and I use the 11 for my RUclips channel but I love the big screen and home button of my 8 plus. I just replaced the original battery this year. The A11 Bionic chip is still super fast. My 8 plus handles just about everything without issue. I do notice once in awhile a hiccup when I’m really taxing the phone. Like yesterday, I was uploading a RUclips video, (sent over from my 11) and I was delivering food (Uber eats) and I had the navigation going all at the same time. The 8 plus got hot and slowed down but still Kept going! I’m considering buying a Pre-Owned 12 pro max after the 15’s launch. (I refuse to pay over $1000 for a phone) I might consider the 15 plus depending on the camera specs. Even after I purchase a newer phone either this year or next primarily for my RUclips channel, I was still keep my beloved 8 plus as a 2nd phone!
I'm still using my iPhone 8 Plus and it works great. I guess I'm gonna buy a new phone this fall for iOS 17. Apple should have released an iPhone SE Plus for those of us who still prefer this form factor.
Exactly. The 8 Plus was my first phone I ever purchased for myself (the previous 6 phones I owned were either Christmas presents or in the case of the iPhone 4 basically a hand-me-down from my dad) and at the time I purchased this phone in July 2020 I did get an Otterbox case that lasted me just under 3 years. Altogether the purchase at Walmart was $330 at the time which it was that low because of my employee discount since I was working there at the time. Although I’ve had to get a couple different cases my phone has still been going strong otherwise 4 years later with a battery capacity at a pretty decent 73%
Iphone 8 plus user here, and I will keep this workhorse phone until it completely dies or is broken, whatever comes first. Throw an otterbox and a solid screen protector on it and its basically indestructible, and replace the battery when the performance dips below 75% and itll probably outlast me.
My mum has been using the 8 Plus since 2019 and it still works like new and lag is rare to see still because she never uses it hours on a daily basis.. I use to own a Huawei mate 10 phone from late 2018 until last week and recently bought the Galaxy s20 fe model. I had to quickly buy phone for a good price quick because my Huawei has been starting to show glitches on the screen and bad battery changes, cameras no longer working correctly, being unsupported for almost 3 years and the amount of times i've been on it. The s20 fe is 4 years old now which is crazy to think but as long as it works for a good year or so then i'll try get a more future proof phone by that time. I did see a samsung s21 for a bit more than the s20 fe but i did learn that the difference between the s20 fe and the original s21 model was minimal for what i want to use it for like the camera, youtube and normal use. I wouldn't see the samsung s10 or the s9 that old yet either.
this was my first phone, got it back in late 2017. It definitely served me well for the time I had with it but I upgraded to the 11 pro max when that came out in late 2019. That felt like a huge leap. I now just upgraded to the 15 pro max a few days ago and that leap feels much smaller coming from the 11, just some small (but welcome) upgrades
I LOVE my 8+. It's my first smartphone, I bought it in '19, and it's what truly drew me into the ecosystem (been buying iPods since '11, and bought an iPad Mini 4 in '18). And it was a lifesaver when I lost some eyesight in '21. The Magnifier and other Accessibility features help me immensely at work and in my daily life. I plan on replacing my PC with a MacBook and upgrading my iPad sometime this year, but I'm so happy with my 8+, it will be the last thing I replace.
Im using my red iPhone 8 Plus as my 2nd phone but the only thing I don’t like it’s since I upgraded this phone to iOS 16 it overheats and dies quicker compared to my 15 . I use this phone for media ,as a Roku remote and for school related things
I had the 8+ since launch and used it for 5 years. Was my second favorite iPhone since the 5S! Now I have a 12 Pro and still much prefer the 8+. The 12 Pro is heavy, narrow, and I much prefer TouchID over FaceID. However, it was time to move on.
Same had mine since launch and it just started giving me problems like 2 weeks ago I loved that phone after getting my screen fixed all of maybe 8 times it just very recently got on its last legs and I must say it served it’s purpose I’m on the 13 now and even doe it’s taking some getting used to I can say the upgrade is worth it
Unfortunately never got to own one of these guys but I so wish I did! I’m finding the newer iPhones more buggy than the older ones. Would be nice if Apple could make an SE Plus as I’m sure there would be a decent market and strong selling point for it
I still have my 8 plus and I'm happy with it. I also use it for multitasking with my 12 pro. I also have a Note 8 that I'm no longer using and in comparison the 8 plus has out performed the Note 8 years later and has stood the test of time.
I have a iPhone 13 and I want a back up so I got the 8 plus but I only got it because the bezels are white and the se 2 there black and I hate the black
still think this phone was the best phone ever at it's time and remained a strong phone for years after, still good specs but a revamped 8 plus would be an easy buy
Honestly I had no problems with my 8+ till iOS 16 came out idk why but after that I started experincing screen glitches and constantly had to reset my phone due to glitching and battery issues just got the 13 and even. Doe the 8+ was my favorite phone all time j can say the upgrade is most definitely worth it
I’ve had my 8 Plus since July 2020 and the battery capacity is at 73%. I’ve had it in a case the whole time and it doesn’t have that much wear and tear from the screen or the back. I have plans on upgrading to a 15 and I know it’s going to be different than what I’ve been used to. I also find it pretty crazy how much the iPhone has evolved considering that an 8 Plus is actually slightly smaller in size compared to a 15 and I remember when having an 8 Plus was a big deal because of the sheer size in comparison to other iPhones.
My father still use this iphone 8+. He has no problem with just playing average simple game, browsing at social media, taking simple photo, call to text and watching youtube. The downside is battery but with this old phone it's easy to replace it by going to 3rd party shop. Still worth for me IMO. Am i the only one who got surprise when parents uses full brightness and big font on their phone lol.

Get onto iOS 16 now. You’re not smart for staying back at all. You don’t keep your PC out of date, same goes for your phone. Time to get a 15 Pro too. The 8 Plus is past its use by date
@@emilsecker7881 why? Everything works. And uh, I don’t actually keep my pc updated that much 😬😂 also, jailbreaking is the only reason I haven’t moved to android yet, my next phone will be an android of some description.
My 8+ has survived a total of 8 drops (all without the case) to the floor. Yeah, it works just fine. No cracks, just a few small scuffs.
My favorite designed iPhone they’ve ever made. Unbelievable that Apple didn’t give it iOS 17.
Why not though?
i just bought iPhone 8 Plus a month ago... i tested it well, i took 3utools also, and the battery may have been replaced, it works fine, one charge a day... still a good phone for my opinion 👌
Get a 13 it’s only a 120 dollars more the the SE and a better phone.
SE is terrible. I hated the small screen and battery
Bro really said "iphone 9 plus review coming soon"
I wish apple would've released a plus sized iphone SE
I loved my 8 Plus. I’d still use one today if they could guarantee software updates.
Time to upgrade to a 15
Mine runs iOS 16 perfectly with no slowdowns. I think it should’ve got iOS 17 since iOS 16 was a lackluster buggy update but tbh it’s not like apps wont be supported anymore.
@@9852323 time to upgrade to a 15 Pro/Pro Max tbh. It’s past its use by date
Bro literally the same thing for me with the 8+ just upgraded to the 13 and I must say it was worth it even doe ima miss my 8 plus
@@Theflamehasira35 should’ve gone to a 13 Pro/Pro Max. You downgraded in the sense you lost the telephoto lens
Just traded my 8+ for a 13. I already miss it 😢
The iPhone 14 Plus was its spiritual successor but it didn't really catch on
Have had my 8 pro since it was released, and was contemplating upgrading to a 14 pro max; however, after viewing this video I’m sticking with the 8 pro as long as possible.
I want to buy the iPhone 8 plus 😢😢
Iphone 8 plus was My worst iPhone I ever owned. I went through 2 of these phones, this was my first phone with battery swelling and almost explosion twice. I switched over to iphone xs max day one after it came out. I hated the gestures so much and hated face id so much that 5 months later I switched to Galaxy Note 10 plus and been on Android ever since.
All Stores Please Lower the price of all Military and Local for all Brands of Eye Phone Products and Accessories and Production Cost Now That's too much $$ The Whole World Now 🙏🙏🙏
Am still using the 8+ is still quite a good phone in 2023 especially as a secondary phone tho if one were to insist on getting it. Go for 256, 64 isn't enough.
Getting this tomorrow, excited 😊
How is it?
I upgraded from the iPhone 7 to the iPhone SE 2 in June. Bought it off Amazon renewed for about $120, and it’s pretty good. I’m beta testing iOS 17 on it.
Why do people should accept such a greedy move from apple!???
It was not a cut, IT WAS A MURDER
Watching this on my Product Red 8 Plus. Still an amazing phone. No reason to upgrade.
My daughter use this model, genshin impact no lagging
I don’t care about new phone with Face ID I with alway use the Touch ID is so much easier and also 5 years later thing phone won’t die.
Apple missed the opportunity to have this as the next iPhone SE.
Still using my 6S+. And Yes, I'm upgrading to the 8+. Gotta have that home button 😂
I love mine as well. I kid you not I still have 100% battery health. I will keep this phone until I literally can’t anymore
8plus has 5.5 usable screen what makes it desirable compared to iphonex for example youtube and games look bigger in 8plus and i like homebutton
I'm scared about the battery issues (like it having a battery that drains fast) although I want this one.
I don't have an iPhone but I keep hearing battery life what does it mean?
Is the cycle of the battery from using to charging over time it degrades and lower the battery percentage is over time may give you issues with your phone preference and so on
@@Dpjs1 oh thanks how do one get that battery life to remain at 100%
I have the iPhone 8 it is pretty good but the battery life is a problem 😢😢 but overall the iPhone 8 Plus and 8 yes they are worth it in 2024 and in the next few years
I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max and I recently bought an 8 plus just cuz I miss touch ID so much
I think it's great that Apple supports them for so long. I wish my 23 Ultra would get that long of support
that's why you shouldn't have a samsung, plain and simple. They dont care to support their devices. They want you to to buy buy buy. Apple isn't like that
Is the iphone 8 plus still available to buy 2023? Can someone tell me pls😭
8:55 "iPhone 9 Plus review coming soon" huh 😂
Bought an 8 plus off a friend for $50, because the mic was super clogged, the battery health was at 74%, and it has a cracked back. Since then, I cleaned the microphones and replaced the battery and it’s almost like new (I use a case anyway, the the glass does not bother me.)
What about the screen is it cracked since your friend doesn't seem like he took good care of the phone
Nah the screen was fine, kinda scratched, but it was fine
I have been using my 8+ since 2017 and till this day I am in love with it.
me 2
I'm still using my iPhone 8 Plus and it works great. I guess I'm gonna buy a new phone this fall for iOS 17. Apple should have released an iPhone SE Plus for those of us who still prefer this form factor.
My iPhone 8 Plus stopped working the home button just broke but it stopped working and was very glichy
Ppl buy what they can afford
That's something that these tech RUclipsrs can't comprehend,
like we're watching this video to know if the phone is still useable
Had my iPhone 8 Plus over 4 years now. Still works decent even now 😁
I LOVE my 8+.
The batteries are fcked with these older iphones. But once replaced its like brand new again.
Im using my red iPhone 8 Plus as my 2nd phone but the only thing I don’t like it’s since I upgraded this phone to iOS 16 it overheats and dies quicker compared to my 15 . I use this phone for media ,as a Roku remote and for school related things
My old phone😮😮
I had the 8+ since launch and used it for 5 years. Was my second favorite iPhone since the 5S! Now I have a 12 Pro and still much prefer the 8+. The 12 Pro is heavy, narrow, and I much prefer TouchID over FaceID. However, it was time to move on.
Same had mine since launch and it just started giving me problems like 2 weeks ago I loved that phone after getting my screen fixed all of maybe 8 times it just very recently got on its last legs and I must say it served it’s purpose I’m on the 13 now and even doe it’s taking some getting used to I can say the upgrade is worth it
just accept it, the new pro iphone era is way better than the plus era
What about the camera bro?
Unfortunately never got to own one of these guys but I so wish I did! I’m finding the newer iPhones more buggy than the older ones. Would be nice if Apple could make an SE Plus as I’m sure there would be a decent market and strong selling point for it
I still have my 8 plus and I'm happy with it. I also use it for multitasking with my 12 pro. I also have a Note 8 that I'm no longer using and in comparison the 8 plus has out performed the Note 8 years later and has stood the test of time.
I have an iphone 8 plus on 6.6 5 beta it last me all day with heavy use
It's amazing that the iPhone 8 Plus is 6 years old!
I have a iPhone 13 and I want a back up so I got the 8 plus but I only got it because the bezels are white and the se 2 there black and I hate the black
i really miss the home button and the body design
my mom has the iphone 11 and we both agree, that my 8 plus’s camera is much better…
I missed mines. I got rid of it for the 11 pro max during the 2020 pandemic 😢
I wish that Apple would have released an SE plus. As you mentioned, we never got a plus after the 8 plus.
“This was the first iPhone to bring the rear glass panel”
iPhone 4: am i a joke to you?
The last best durability and design from Steve Job minds
still think this phone was the best phone ever at it's time and remained a strong phone for years after, still good specs but a revamped 8 plus would be an easy buy
Iphone 8 plus did a great job there are still many people who used that phone. Its sad to see it retired early
Omg this is so amazing🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH
Eww change that rubbish phone
@@iPhoneMuseum Rubbish? I wouldn’t call it rubbish if it’s still been very reliable for me and the only thing going on is shorter battery life.
I wish they made an SE Plus with the Iphone 8 Plus's body
My father still use this iphone 8+. He has no problem with just playing average simple game, browsing at social media, taking simple photo, call to text and watching youtube. The downside is battery but with this old phone it's easy to replace it by going to 3rd party shop. Still worth for me IMO. Am i the only one who got surprise when parents uses full brightness and big font on their phone lol.
started following iPhones around 2017 with iOS 11 betas...sad to see them go off into the sunset
I'm thinking the price will drop a bit next year once the next iPhone drops with iOS 17. That's when I'll snag one up for the collection.
Nice video, my 8 Plus still running iOS 14.8.1. All my apps still work.
Get onto 16.5.1 NOW. You’re not very smart at all for staying back. You’re at a HUGE security risk. You don’t keep your PC out of date, same goes for your phone. Time to get onto iOS 16.5.1 and then get a 15 Pro Max later this year

Just sent my 8+ to Apple for a new battery
Still better camera than majority of midrange of 2024
I am watching this video on an iPad Air 2, which came out in 2014 and also will end up on IOS (or iPadOS) 16. It is a bit laggy at times, and scrolling is quite jerky, but over all it is amazing how well it still works. Apple does a great job of making sure (in general) that it's products have a long useful life.
Is 91tech worth it in 2023?
Lol😂
I used an iPhone 8 up until a year or so ago. Great phone but sucks it got cut.
Hey man what kinda lights are those at 2:43?? Love the look it gives the phones. Great video as always!
Mine is starting to have this black screen. Every once in a while, you can hear the audio. You can see a little screen glare of light, but it’s absolutely dark and eventually the screen will come back to normal once in a while, but that’s all I noticed as of recently after the latest update that we had a few weeks back maybe a month ago I don’t remember when it came out.
