We tried that with our foster cat a few months after she had a litter, to see if she would temporarily take care of a few kittens we got in. She would not go anywhere near them and whenever we brought them near her her eyes would bulge and she would try to scramble out of there
I recognize that noise from when we used to breed our dog. That's the noise of "Help! I don't feel momma, and I don't know where she is!"

Klondike 😺 and Tippy 🐶 took care of Princess 🐹 and Luna 🐹: maine coon and chihuahua and 2 teddy bear hamsters. I told them "careful, they're babies. you need to be gentle" and both boys were super gentle and watched over the girls when they were out running around. People can't believe "hamster, cat, and dog gets along with each other" why not 🤷?
Wolf packs especially, they make for quick snacks on a long hunt.

They are not open to the idea that there are other ways & means out there & building a mental wall to other considerations makes the human not reach his or her potential - & it IS said by those who study this that we as humans DON'T come anywhere close to using our own capabilities.
I have ALSO heard that cats can heal themselves with their purrs - something to do with the frequency of their purrs. I find this fascinating! It seems pretty obvious that they can't ALWAYS heal themselves as my vet bills would have been much smaller if this was the case! I had always meant to ask my cats' vet about this before though, but never did. Sadly my cats have passed on now so I don't see the vet (& I am not in a position to have anymore cats right now.)

No she was definitely just grooming. The little bite you see in there isn't play, it's a message of "stop moving so I can clean you" that cats often use for eachother and their humans when grooming.
It's normal grooming. Cats stop the movement of kittens by biting their neck (that area is not sensitive).

I’ve seen them actually so we needed to seclude them in a very quiet place and only a few people the rabbit mom knew can take care of them. And strangers could not look at the rabbit or her babies. Not cats. Cats are predatory animals. They would keep their kittens separately for weeks from the rest of the cat family and even a father cat until old enough and they move the kittens every few days but they don’t consume their own babies.

There’s also the achilleas tendon and our unprotected shins and whole bunch of bad designs in the human body. And it’s not just humans that have issues there’s animals that have teeth or horns that will grow into their own skulls and kill them. There’s sharks that can’t stop swimming or else they’ll suffocate. There’s animals like Koalas that are constantly exhausted because they only eat eucalyptus which is poisonous to them so their bodies spend all their energy just trying to break down the poisons. Seems like there’s a lot of pretty bad designs, or they really are just accidents from nature

I wonder if this is the cat expressing two things I have heard about their maternal instincts; that they are very strong even towards young of other species and that they can be susceptible to taking care of the young of other's because cat mothers can form little colonies where the females cooperate to nurse all the kittens. It's sort of like, "man! that big weird looking cat just had the strangest and loudest kitten. Oh, well. time to pitch in and help take care of the little guy."
You are correct, queens(female cats) will share kitten care duties. When I was younger I'd foster cats and at one time had 3 nursing mothers. They were constantly taking each other's kittens to their own nests. When one very young mom ditched the job after the first week, the other two took over and raised 25 kittens between the two of them.
House cats are more on par with lions when it comes to living in groups, so it makes sense they handle kitten care similarly.
So cute that the baby calmed down once the Cat comforted it 🥺

I got food poisoning once and I couldn’t get up out of bed to get his (my cat 🐈⬛) breakfast. He must have thought we (collectively) had no food so he went out and hunted a bumblebee for me. He placed the half dead, half chewed bee 🐝 in front of me so that we had food. ❤ I miss him every day RIP Futts (my best friend)

When I was a kid a family friend had a young cat that was a first time mother and didn't know how to take care of her newborns. During the birthing process our dog (who just had a litter herself) came up and cleaned the kittens up and nursed them so that the mother could see it. She then took the babies to the mother who proceeded to nurse her babies. It was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. She lived up to her name "Sugar" that day. She was such a sweetheart.
That’s an amazing story that gives me chills of awe and gratitude for the unconditional love animals give us and each other! I’ll never forget your story! ❤❤❤

If I recall correctly, neutered males in particular seem to be very quick to appoint themselves as surrogate uncles, though it’s not limited to neutered males.
There was also a rescued elderly feral named Mason who went viral for appointing himself the caretaker for all of the foster kittens in his adopted family’s home. He cleaned them, stopped them from roaming places they shouldn’t, played with them, disciplined them, taught them how to properly behave like cats, etc.

Kitties are such natural comforters❣️I sure miss my little all- black Beebee, who would crawl up under the lap blanket I used, when taking a nap, curl up behind my back and purr❣️She would come to me, too, when I cried from my sad, broken heart, and the great and constant physical pain I have endured for so long. Such a loving kitty, who gave her all to me when she was quietly, and unknown to me, dieing of cancer. She had a grapefruit- sized tumor crowding her lungs.
