to me, this is more important than flashy chops. clean, consistent, precise playing is where drummers are going to be most useful in a musical situation

Always good to take a step back and rethink what we’re doing - and how to do it better.
I was asked recently if I could go back in time, would I change a lot of the parts I came-up with?
I answered probably not, as I was and still am proud of my work. But, given my experience now, I’d just play them better - better timing, cleaner, and with more flow.

Really Cool Nate ... I need to bring a computer down by my kit ... I love the way you show comparisons from the Big guys and You , Compared to guys like me. ... I know I don't have chops like that , guess its good to admit/realize it so I can stay within My game so to speak , the biggest deal that bothers me the most is that I stopped playing for too many years 25 ... back at it 3 1/2 ... its getting better but you know what I'm saying ... love to get under your wing hopefully sort of near future ... Thanks Jim

Although they are involved in educating the public with music/drumming, Drumeo still tends towards spectacle. Sure, the whole "hearing songs for the first time" is a blast to watch, but it also serves to instill the athletic competition musicians already have (as humble as their guests actually are). So I think they need to have you on their program regularly to bring it all back down to earth again. It's art not a sport. Grooves > shredding. You're an excellent instructor, who knows how to break down the basics and get people to focus on what matters, which is what EVERYONE, even the supremely talented, need.

They have their lane but I love their lane. I think Brandon Toews is the most underrated RUclipsr.

When parking my motorcycle, I'm focusing on my contact points. If the response is on time, I am.

I think you do yourself a slight disservice, I’m sure I’m not alone in thinking your a great drummer!! Ultimately isn’t it about making music with others, loving it and working!? Stevie Wonder wasn’t ‘the greatest’ drummer but he just heard it his way and could get the music through and many more like him. I think that speaks volumes and it’s not just famous musicians who’ve done that, I feel ultimately your all about the music brother. I’m not asking you to now say your a ‘great’ that’s for others to observe perhaps but for those of us that watch your channel you are great as your knowledge, passion and ability scream talent. Keep on keeping on 🙏🏼
