    Does anyone know or have the full set in full quality? I'd like to get an MP3 of this awesome show, I feel that the couple songs from the internet wouldn't seal the deal for a live album in my collection :P

  • @walruseggtv
    @walruseggtv 5 лет назад +1

    i actually really like this, it's different and badass and there is a lot in this. it's certainly imperfect but I think this is an incredibly cool performance of Goliath. go put on fuckin 2008 whatever if you want that, sometimes you're feelin a lil 2011. if you think they're apathetic you ain't really listening!

    Random thought: Deatoni Parks looks like a young John Witherspoon.
    Now srsly, I know stubborn fans are gonna get upset over this version but i frankly LOVE it. I find it an extremely malleable song to still sound good so slow. Normal = chaotic but Slow = smooth, sultry. I dig man.

  • @bicisnobombas
    @bicisnobombas 12 лет назад

    Sure, of course. That's the function of a capo. I'm still curious as to why he uses a capo on this song as its a fairly straightforward bassline. I saw them play this song last night, and they rocked it out.

    @turtlliwdnifuoyehthr They did it with Elitch after Pridgen left, but I'm not sure if they do it with Parks. They haven't done many shows throughout '11, and all of those were songs off Noctourniquet, so possibly they were just doing this version to give something familiar to fans that Parks also new how to play and felt comfortable doing so. Only future shows will tell!

    This is...interesting. It's cool to hear old songs get re-presented in a new way, but this just isn't for me I think. Hopefully Cedric doesn't fuck around too long for the next album so that TMV can once again change their sound up, maybe even speed up a bit again?
    ...please?

    Anyone notice that the bass player is using a capo? That's unusual. I wonder why...

  • @Gabe872
    @Gabe872 11 лет назад

    pretty sure he meant the stuttering, not weight

  • @takeatriptomyhouse
    @takeatriptomyhouse 12 лет назад

    Since the song is in B, he puts the capo on for easier playing and less moving around the neck. The tuning would then be, F# B E A.

    This sucks.. If they wanted to go "Rapid Fire Tollbooth" they should of at least had the horns in it. and its still too slow. This was so dead. I love the "Goliath" version.

  • @archologyzero
    @archologyzero 12 лет назад

    I didn't think the mars volta could get any tighter or more earthshattering - until they did. While i am so glad I saw this song live in 2007 and 2008, i am equally glad to hear this equally crazy awesome version.
