My father in law is a fisherman and has told me that while he dives sometimes he hears voices calling his name. He didn’t need to tell me how creepy that is, but this was the only way he knew to put food on the table for his two children so no matter how creeped out he was, he kept spear fishing. It’s one thing when only a few people say something is happening but as you all now know it’s very common. There must be something to it.. I’m not a sea person but after hearing about this I’m even more scared of the ocean 🌊
Auditory hallucinations, especially hearing your own name being called, are the most common form of hallucinations across both healthy and ill people. Water typically makes a lot of white noise, even when under the water, and white noise increases the chance of having auditory hallucinations, so I think that's the most likely explanation, but I wouldn't 100% rule out sirens.. too many old sailor's stories to think they all went level 1 crazy and started consistently hearing voices (consistently being the key factor) and then proceeded to go level 2 crazy where they'd perform the illogical act of jumping in the water to follow the imaginary voices
@@cyleleghorn246 yeah exactly, I can’t say for sure what is the cause of it but like you said there can be some explanations. The hard part is figuring out what is true. The other option can be that some have different answers. Obviously not everyone’s experience can be explained by the same answer. I will say this though I have experienced my own supernatural experiences. Not that I can prove that what I experienced can’t be explained somehow but we can’t ever know for sure due to the nature of the subject.
@@carterjones8126 I am aware but my father in law was very poor as mentioned, he did all of this without air tanks. If you find old subway cars in the oceans near Delaware, these are old New York City subway cars used to create a artificial reef. These cars are known as the "Redbirds" and "Brightliners". The actual names of the cars are the R26,R32, R33, R36, R40, and R42. They were dumped there from 2003 to 2010. Because dumping the cars was cheaper than scrapping them, The New York City Transit Authority and the MTA (Metropolitan Transportation Authority) chose to dump the cars. The cars are now forming what is known as Redbird Reef.
Once I was diving at night. I felt a hand came out of nowhere, grabbed, shaked and tried to pull my mask off my face. I thought it was my dive buddy pranking me.. was cursing him.. but he was about 30ft away from me. Really freaky. (But I didn't stop spearfishing at night anyway) 😉
There is a weird hunt going on in the deep seas, from scavengers looking for steel manufactured before 1944, because of its very low content of radionuclides; this is essential for manufacturing high precision test equipment, where the steel manufactured after year 1944 contains all the radioactive isotopes infused into the environment by nuclear activities, both of military and civilian nature. Old ships and submarines are cut in pieces underwater and brought at the surface for processing, and this type of steel is priced as same as gold. I have seen, in South Italy, an entire Roman city submerged twenty metres under the sea - along the coast of a place called Baia, which was part of a larger civilian and military complex of the ancient Roman Empire. The local tourist services rented a boat with a special glass bottom, to watch the undersea city...
The "Move over" makes sense. Make an abrupt course correction and if guessed correctly you won't hear it again. If you guessed wrong it may be repeated in harsher language but if they gave you a direction off the bat you'd know where they are and submarines aren't going to trust a "fisherman". They don't know who is on board. Shout and duck under. Figure out if it's nothing or if we got a tail. Either way, your boat ain't welcome here.
I don’t get why some people just HAVE to give this and similar cool videos a “thumbs down”, just to prove what? It’s obviously a great show. Or just move along. Why do people have to bash every single thing they see?! 😶 weirdos
When I was in the Navy I saw the mirror glass effect first hand. It was like God picked us up and placed the ship on the surface of a mirror. Hallucinations while on aft lookout at night was also common. One night a sailor called the bridge and insisted he was looking at a baby carriage in the middle of the helo landing pad.
Yoo, infographics ...another great episode ...I was wondering if you can do one on craziest elaborate scams people fell for
That’s a good one. Have they not done one? Im surprised
