Love this performance! Freddie’s vocals are wonderful & at times you can really feel the emotion! Love the camera angle above Freddie’s piano playing, quite different from looking stage front! The opening lyric & melody is based on the line “Ridi, Pagliaccio, sul tuo amore infranto.” Which means .. laugh, clown, at your broken love! 🤡 ☹️

This is from the works tour which is considered freddies most inconsistent tour, and is known for having his voice be tired and blown out for most shows. This is from Rock In Rio though, which is considered the best shows from the tour. Also you should react to Rock N Roll Medley Live from Earls Court 1977 if you want to see the band firing on all cylinders.

Because of the 350.000 people singing, clapping and screaming in front of him Freddie had difficulties hearing himself and his bandmembers.
That's why you probably understand that timing was key.
By the way, I found 2 perfect songs for you to cover. As a Queen fan I would recommend 'Heaven Can Wait' by Meatloaf and 'Something About You' by Level 42.
