My son is going to UCLA and we live 60 miles away so he has to commute. I didn’t want to get a gas car because gas nowadays is too expensive. I couldn’t afford an ev, so decided to go with a Toyota hybrid.
I bought this as a bid car for my flooring business. I drove it around for a weekend to see if the MPG ratings were BS or not… I have to say it does about 50 combined which is mind blowing. My salespeople will put 25-30,000 miles a year on this car. Literally saves thousands of dollars a year. Also impressive the lane keep assist and adaptive cruise for a base model. I wouldn’t say the car is a rocket but it isn’t a slouch either. The Camry hybrid gets nearly Prius mileage without being the size of a roller skate lol
@BraetonWilson it is a very “normal” car to drive other than it being very very quiet. You can definitely tell it’s different because of engine cycling on and off but if you couldn’t hear the slight changes you’d hardly notice. The brakes are brakes, no different than non hybrids. In fact I originally intended to buy a used non-hybrid version which I had for two days and put about 250 miles on in that time. The salesman talked me into the hybrid bc of mileage… but as far as driving goes Id say they were the same. Excellent car at its price point … nice features too!
I wish Toyota would make a Camry prime. I own this car and I love it. It's really what I thought it would be. It took some break in time for it to really get 50 MPG.
Darius. Another great video. 👍🏾 I have to admit the LE and XLE front end styling has grown on me. Definitely like the SE and XSE front much better. That being said it’s a great car. ESP When the hybrid brings 50 mph. That’s impressive. How does the hybrid drives as compared to the gas only 4 cylinder models?
@@DriveOnReviews yea it’s not. That’s why awd Camry and hybrid Camry are very similar priced. I sort of want a hybrid Camry because you would get well over 500+ miles per tank. Thanks for the video.
Hi my friend thank you for support video Toyota Camry 2021 le hybrid Please tell me how much you bought it & total out the door because I ready to buy the same your car so I need to know this Thank you so much
@@braetonwilson4296 nope they dont. I have a 2020 le hybrid and my parents recently puschsed a 2021 xse hybrid. The breaks feel fantastic and you dont even notice the car switch in and out of elctric mode or when the engine shuts off for short periods of time. Only way I can truly describe the car is that it is fantastic in every way possible. Uber quiet interior and a wonderful driving experience. You truly would not expect a cmary to drive, handle or accelerate how these hybrids do. I would strongly recommenmd the hybrid over the gas models. Especially with rising gas prices and the longer warranties available on the hybrid models. Also go test drive one to see how you like it so you can compare the gas model to the hybrid.
@@braetonwilson4296 ahh yes thats another great vehicle. I will say though that the corolla hybrid starts at 24k vs 27k for the camry. While corolla is a great option I think the le hybrid canry is a better all around because you get more cargo capacity, same mpg and just a more powerful vehicle. 208hp from the canry vs 121 hp from the corolla is a significant difference imo. Depends what you are using the car for but if your gonna be loaded up with passengers I'd definitely want the more roomier camry with the added power. Trust me the 208hp 2.5 liter camry has plenty of speed and power to cruise on the highway going 80 while loaded with passengers. Can't say the corolla would feel nearly as peppy and pleasant to drive. But again just my view on this. Another thing you can do is build two vehicles on the Toyota website with the options you want. Camry Le starts at 27 and change. Can get fully loaded le with audio package, sun roof, convenice package and cold weather package all added on for $3430. Corolla starts at 23 and change. Fully optioned and also something to consider is that corolla hybrid is only available in the le trim. So Fully loaded is basically the premium package and the blind spot and cross traffic alert for $2025. So your at $26,670 for the corolla fully optioned with destination fee and the camry is $31,695 fully optioned le with destination fees. 5k difference between the two, while it's alot of money the are two completely different vehicles. Do you need to fully option them? Definitely not, id honestly choose no options at all. I wouldn't care for a sunroof on the le nor do I need heated seats here in arizona 😂 mother nature does that for us already. My own personal experience is with a 2020 le hybrid. Put 31k miles since January of 2020 when I got the car. Its been a phenomenal experience. Fantastic mpg, such a quiet pleasant vehicle for trips and daily use. Easy to drive, Uber cheap to fuel and maintain.( don't forget first 25k miles of service are free from toyota). Everyone I know thats had ridden in my car commented on how comfortable and quiet the car was. Litterally puts passengers to sleep and it's quiet enough at freeway speeds that you can whisper to your passengers. Another huge plus since the vehicle is so quiet is that for a base audio system it was Fantastic output and clarity. The jbl system on the higher end models like the xse is on a totally different level 👌🏽 In the end I say drive both. See which you like more. Compare numbers and compare which you just feel more comfortable in. Take them on long test drives. Heck even rent them from a local car rental place before you purchase either to get a feel for a few days.( probably gonna be expensive that way but better than forking out 26k right away ) Biggest thing is at the end of the day your buying the vehicle and you should feel satisfied with your purchase and your ownership experience. Hope this helps you in your search for either of these. Good luck with your future purchase my friend 🙏🏽
@@J.NOBODY.1 Thank you so much for taking the time to convey all this info to me, friend. Much appreciated. The Camry LE Hybrid sounds very appealing. I totally agree that the heated seats, sunroof etc. is unnecessary. In fact the sunroof adds a lot of weight up top which raises the center of gravity and reduces handling fun. Also, risk of leaking after few years. The only options I want is blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert. I'm sure I can add that as a standalone option. I've heard that hybrids need to be driven often or they go bad. Like the battery can go bad. I don't drive often and may only drive 5K miles/year. Do I have to worry about the hybrid battery dying? Also I like to travel a lot, can I say fly to the Caribbean and leave my Camry hybrid parked for a month? Will the battery die if I do that? Also how much of a discount did you score on your purchase? I want a big discount but this chip shortage is making it very difficult.
I bought this car 6 months ago and use it to deliver with doordash. It's a awesome car but don't get the 52mpg like I thought I'd get. I drive it normal and get 42 mpg. It's fun to drive. Lots of room but not much storage. The glove department is useless because of the design.
I've never liked the giant toyota grills. Worse yet, many other companies have copied that look. That being said, I'm still considering this car because it is a toyota and they make great cars in general but, they are tops in the hybrid dept.
