- We were lucky enough to be invited to cover a test day for the exciting project that is the Proton IRIZ R5 recently. The car was incredible, the weather the same. We had a fantastic time shooting this video, so hope you enjoy watching it.

You can admire your Myvi, but bear in mind that Proton is serious in the Rally business and they are in the higher league than Perodua
exactly, especially proton partnering with geely, who knows what would happen

Iriz ni mmg berat, lebih kurang b segmen conti. Tapi chassis berat proton ni la salah satu punca proton kuat makan minyak. Tu laa, org nak sembang pasal kereta dia nak sembang jugak

I don't have Iriz, but I also have a Proton car which is Waja. And I'm not kidding, Proton's cars handling will always make you smile. Yes my Waja is slow since it's a heavy fwd 110hp car, but bring any corners you can find, you'll be smiled with its handling and stability~

What happened to this car? Last time I heard they wanted to enter WRC2. I really hope to see her in action.

in all honesty, perodua is NO WHERE NEAR SUITABLE to make rally cars, all their cars are weak, with 4 speed auto as well their biggest engine is a 1.5 litre.

@@roshgilluw lmao. Stock power and chassis is irrelevant to compare in Rally since all the cars have been upgraded with aftermarket parts. And R5 class only uses from 1.5-1.6l engines only, so anything bigger is not qualified for the class. When entering Rally, the whole chassis is gonna get reinforced and strengthen for all the abuse and safety. So your point on "slow 1.5 automatic" is nowhere close to reasons why they can't make Rally cars. I am not and never will be a Perodua fanboy, but I had to state the facts so you can calm down your irrelevant insult. If they wanna build one, they can simply make a deal with Rally certified companies such as Cosworth, Ford, Subaru, and other companies across the Europe. Just need the approval of Toyota.
look at the reality before you say anything, never seen a car sold in full rally spec. ever thought of why?
Proton has vast experience in rallying during Mitsu era from Iswara AWD till now.. With Geely support now, mayb would be possible in near future.
Perodua is economy based unlike former which handling & comfort focused. The increased chassis strength will impact their goal of fuel efficiency. Despite being fuel efficient, Perodua cars are not comfortable for long distance travelling nor good in terms of ride & handling. Toyota did enter WRC during 90's with Celica GT Four & Corolla WRC and have recently resumed competing with their new Yaris GRMN. Its a matter of yes or no by their parent company to import relevant tech into production vehicles.

Iriz also a defending champion in 1000km Sepang Endurance. Iirc 2022 or 2021 the only reason Toyota Gazoo Racing Team won because Proton R3 didn't participate. But if they join Proton always win in their category even beating Gazoo Racing Team

Proton cars actually participate in a lot of overseas Motorsport, like rally and british touring championship. Also in Asia, Proton R3 Racing Team is the defending champion for Sepang Endurance 1000km. And in rally also way before R3 exist iirc, Proton already made their name in hall of fame rally with Proton PERT team
