  • Did you know that you don't have to update estate documents like wills and Powers of Attorney on any particular timeframe? But, there are a number of situations when it makes sense to review your documents, such as:
    • Have any of the people in your documents, like executors/trustees or beneficiaries changed? Has anyone died, become divorced, or had another big life event? Any births you need to factor in for beneficiaries, like grandchildren?
    • Have you bought or sold a second residence, or do you own a residence in more than two states now?
    • Do you want to change your wishes for care at the end of your life? Or any changes to your Powers of Attorney based on mental capacity?
    • Are there any federal or state changes, like the estate tax exemption, that you need to review for how you handle your assets in the estate?
    • Do you need a plan for digital assets like email accounts, social media, and online accounts?
