Diana was influential in changing attitudes toward people with HIV and AIDS in the UK. Diana provided public relations and publicity for the Red Cross and HALO projects to ban landmines. She used her royal celebrity status to publicize and gain public support for charities and humanitarian causes. Her support of charities was reduced to 6 charities after the divorce. She was recreating her public image. Diana wanted to be remembered as a humanitarian.
