    In my opinion, these are hands down, the best sounding speakers for the money, period. Paying any more for a speaker yields too little to be worth it. Amazing, fantastic and clear. The absolute best!

    Are these speakers best toed in very hard to decide whether to or not but a great speaker. My previous speakers were jamo classic 10 and celestion dittion 44 both served me well.

    Hi! Thank you for the review! I’m interested in the R11, but I’m not sure if my actual amp, the Rega Elex-R, that I just bought for my Monitor Audio Silver 200 (6g) will drive these beautifully. Would it be ok for a 70sqm room (almost 13m long)? I also hve the Van Damme Blue speaker cables. So I’m actually looking to change only the actual Silver 200 and keep the rest of the gear. Would these work with the R11? I’m looking for low to medium audiotions and I’m looking for that hi-fi experience with lower volume too. Thank you!

    How does these r11 sound vs paradigm 95f towers?

  • @SweatLaserXP
    @SweatLaserXP Год назад +1

    Looks like a cool store and you seem like a cool saleperson/owner. How do these towers compare to the mid-range Magnepans, if you can relate?

  • @marct9587
    @marct9587 4 года назад +1

    I know these are great speakers and measure very well. They just don't jump out at you, sound wise, in the store like the B&W 700 series that are often compared to them.

    • @olsonshifi3714
      @olsonshifi3714  4 года назад +6

      That’s a subjective opinion. I definitely feel like the Bowers Wilkins treble jumps out at you. If you listened the B&W for an hour may be sick of that speaker jumping out at you.

    I saw these speakers in a store and they looked very serious and sounded very flat toned and neutral just the way speakers supposed to sound. Can you do me a favor can you test them out how they sound loud please. I couldn’t turn them up too high at the store, thank you.

      Hello,
      KEF in general does really well loud. The UniQ tweeter in the middle of a mid driver is a little like a hybrid horn tweeter. So KEF stay clear and undistorted at high volume.
      The dynamics at high volume are also fun

    I listen to a pair of them in Best buy along with Bowers and Wilkins I found the Bowers and Wilkins to be much clearer and I thought that the r11s mid-range sounded strained, well the base was superb very chest thumping and the speakers had excellent depth The sound stage is set far behind these speakers maybe they weren't broken in yet. (Mids) But what I don't like about them is the mid-range/ tweeter is too low you must be seated..

      I owned 3 pairs of B&W. They're nice speakers if you listen to audiophile recordings 100% of the time. I now only have one pair of B&W and those are the CM6 S2 bookshelves (the other favorite were the CM10 S2 floor standers). I used to own the B&W Diamond series as well. And they're bright speakers. They definitely do not work well with recordings that are trebly to begin with.
      B&W are like the TV demos at stores. Bright saturated images that catch the eye, but purists would never watch their TVs like that. B&W is to catch the ears of the masses. Eventually you'll want a speaker that is non-fatiguing and doesn't cut through air like a knife. Sure it sounds amazing on specific recordings, but if you just plan to demo what good recordings can sound like, get the B&W. If you want to enjoy all sorts of music, there are other options.

    Hello, what do I actually get for my money with Reference 5? How would you describe the sound of R11 vs. Reference 5? Of course I expect the Ref 5 to "sound even bigger" with even deeper bass but other than that please....?

    • @olsonshifi3714
      @olsonshifi3714  4 года назад +1

      Martin Martin , that’s really hard to put in to words. You really need to listen to them. Would you buy these without listening first?

    • @fishingbear69

      no pun intended, but Are you aware the RF 5 are there, third down the line model # and the RF 11 shown on the video is there top of the line model #,,,of there flagship reference series ?$ are you possibly thinking there going to sound better ,bass wise or in any other way ?

    • @whitecrowuk575
      @whitecrowuk575 2 года назад +1

      @@fishingbear69 no they are not - that’s R5 not reference 5. Reference is bigger boxes than Rs and Reference 5 have same speaker layout as r11

    I've seen the black gloss version of the KEF R11. The black gloss looks much better!!! I've listen to them also. I'm debating if I'll get them?

      In my humble opinion, they are outstanding full range speakers. If you must go without a sub, these will more than suffice.
