I’ve waited a year to get this vehicle.. I’m getting all the parts together for the next three years and then throwing them on. Only then will I start slamming it and hitting corners.
this lockdown really jail we all in house i miss cruising on the highway, listening to a favourite song, chatting with friends together i really kennot already ahhahaahaha
Wow, that's cool. I cannot make my manual 86 drift. I think the reason is lack of skill, not car's power. btw you have a little bit strange name for an Asian. Are you Korean and any way related to Russia?
@@VictorLiewyep, I held both buttons for 3-5 seconds and turned TC and VSC off (got 2 red lights on the dashboard). If you can send it on an AT its definitely my skill issue. I'm newbie in drifting. Learned for two months on a wheel in assetto Corsa, bought 86 in January, drifted in snow pretty fine for the first time IRL. I was able to maintain controllable donuts, not just spined on one place. Now there is no snow in my part of Russia and I cannot drift anymore :( Your video inspired me, thanks bro. I ll wait for a rain and try one more time. Now I see that this car has enough power to go sideways even on AT P.S. Hope I will visit China someday, never been there. Its an interesting country with a really long history
@@Bagasl ok. For me I just hold down the traction button for few seconds, even in a manual, try just turning the steering KC rev it up to 5k rpm or so and just pop the clutch
Good skills! I have the same looking 86 with the TRD body kit! How would it compare to an S-chassis? Also what ideal mods/tire specs would be ideal for the 86 to be a good, reliable drift car?
I would say it handles more a less like a S-chassis but with slightly better rigidity, tires spec I think depending on your setup, for me my car is totally stock so a normal 215/45/17 would be more then sufficient. At time if during a full 2nd gear long course the car would even feel out of breath and hard to keep spinning the 215 *do take note I’m running an automatic gearbox
I've been thinking about buying an automatic all the time but I'm cautious because I don't know if it drifts as well as a manual? can you explain the differences to me?
@@fjsjdm3132 of cause the manual would be so much better in any form of motorsports application compared to the automatic. Automatic, u can’t handbrake, u can’t clutch kick, so basically your drift must be very precise as you don’t have the luxury of making a correction mid drift
@@VictorLiew Good tire spec. I dont have any intention to do drifting as I'm no mechanic haha but then I kinda wants it to balance between stylish look and speed + comfort.
@@Fakhrul97iman sorry for the late reply it has been a hectic week. For me personally it depends if u mainly use it for street and occasional fun those so called China semi slicks tires are sufficient, but if got the budget can go for Michelin PS4 or Neova AD8, talking about rim size for I like the feel of 17 on the car, the most is 18 (assuming it is producing close to 300hp or more), 19 for my personal opinion is slightly too large as the 86 is not a high power high torque kind of car, even my previous S15 producing around 400hp I’m only using 215/45/17 for street and Autocross
thankyou for this video victor! it's given me the hope to try to learn to drift in my auto 86!
Your welcome, hope your successful
